I’ve used Tyres on the Drive a few…
I’ve used Tyres on the Drive a few times and never had an issue on previous years, however recently the service has been awful!! Tyre fitter turned up unannounced despite the email saying I would receive a call first. He then said he couldn’t do tyre rotation - would have to go in to the garage for this - even though I’ve had it done on the drive every other time. He then said he had “forgot” the screen wash that I had paid for. He assured me I would receive a refund from the services not provided. Received invoice later that day - he’d recorded it as having done the work!!! I had to call up and explain the situation and request a refund. Still not solved.
To top it all off - gave him a full set of wheel nuts - 1 is now “missing”!!

Tyre fitting - over inflated
Tyre fitting. BAR should be 2,5. He put in 3,2. Therefore, I have now got to faff around at a busy time putting it right. Not a major task to put in the right pressure really is it? It says what it should be on the inside of the door. Used this service previously but won't be using it again as they clearly can't be bothered.

Extremely Disappointed – Still No Refund After Cancelled Service
I booked a tyre fitting with Tyres on the Drive (Halfords Auto Centre) having used their service numerous times before, I followed the simple steps
and ordered tyres recommended by their own website for my vehicle. Despite the tyres being the correct size, the fitter refused to install them. The order was cancelled on 17th April 2025, and I was assured a refund would be processed within 3–5 working days.
Not only was the service not completed, but nearly two weeks later, I'm still waiting for my refund. I followed up with the complaints department on 24th April, only to be told the refund hadn’t even been issued yet, and I'd need to wait another 3–5 days. I was also promised a callback which never happened.
The lack of communication, broken promises, and delay in processing a simple refund is unacceptable and sadly lost my future custom.
Avoid this service if you expect reliability, professionalism, or accountability.

Not as flexible as it looks
Well, how the mighty has fallen. I have used the company in the past for convenience and flexibility of having my tyres done at home and also battery change. I've recommended them to people even recently but not again. My wife had a tyre done last week and waited in all day for them to appear 30 mins before the time window closed on an 8 - 8 slot. This would be fine if they actually used the tracker on the website which didn't get updated at all despite it saying it does update on the day of fitting. I assumed she was unlucky and ordered for myself. Same again. I'm off all day so picked the flexible time window of all day. Yet again zero update of tyre being ready, or any idea ruining the whole day. Previously they notified you a 2 hour window so if you are flexible you work around it. Zero update on site, zero phone call, zero text message. I pick them for the flexibility, but pointless if they do not provide the same. Use a local garage unless you have no choice. Not sure if it's since Halfords took it over?

Dismal
Dismal. Fitter did not arrive on the day that was booked. On the rebooked day, I was phoned by the fitter during the appointment time that they weren't sent the tyres to be fitted and wasn't coming. I called Halfords again and was told a new fitting would happen within 2 hrs, that didn't happen. Spoke to them again (non-UK call centre) and was told they had no information about the second rebooking and could not tell me when or if any fitting was likely to take place. All the text messages I received had a tracking link that went to a non-existent page. AVOID.

Convenient, technician was on time, friendly knowledgeable, polite and efficient.
8 days, no tyres.
I ordered tyres on a Tuesday.
They cancelled the Thursday, cancelled the Friday, did not arrive on the Monday.
Claimed that they called, but didn't even knock on the door of the establishment.
My car was on the driveway.
Disgraceful.
Great Service 26 & 29 March 2025
For those who are reading the reviews after booking to have tyres replaced, don’t panic!
I’ve used TOTD twice this week. First appointment was great, tracking worked, fitter arrived and tyres replaced with no dramas, very happy with experience.
Second appointment, slight hiccup as tracking wasn’t working. Phoned customer services, answered promptly, was able to give me estimated arrival and very helpful. Fitter arrived as promised, tyres changed, all good.
Conclusion Halfords service can be very good, maybe I was just lucky or is it that only people who have a problem bother to review?
Total, expensive failure.
Needed and ordered 2 tyres for two vehicles. 4 tyres in total for fitting on the drive.
Arrived right at the end of the fitting window time with no arrival call.
Started 1st vehicle and immediately broke a wheel nut, unable to continue.
(This cost £120 at a local garage to sort out)
Started 2nd vehicle, put on 1st tyre, couldn't do the 2nd one as he hadn't got a pair on his van, had to put old tyres back on.
So, no tyres fitted at all on visit.
Also,when I got new tyres put on elsewhere, the second vehicle where he started to fit new tyres and changed them back, he had cut the tyre valves and put them back in unbeknown to myself, this is highly dangerous and could have resulted in blowouts
I have valves in my possession if Tyres on the Drive wish to see them

Very poor customer service in the Salisbury area
Unfortunately my experience has been awful. I recently booked tyres on the drive in the Salisbury area (Wiltshire) on 14th March to replace 2 tyres on my E220 Mercedes.
The technician didn't want to wait for me to check the tyre pressure monitor cleared and rushed off. Over the weekend the rear new tyre kept loosing air and needed refilling daily. On Monday morning I called Tyres on the drive at 0800, who told me I would have to wait until Wednesday before they could provide a warranty call. On Wednesday the technician arrived and although very cheerful and friendly did not have a tyre pressure valve (as the previous technician had warped the thread and it was not re-sealing. He did put in a standard rubber valve and said I would receive a follow up visit. Tyres on the drive have closed my warranty job and not booked a follow up visit so I had to go to Salisbury to buy a valve and then go to Tyre Pro to have it fitted. Total extra cost £60 plus about half a day of my time. I have always used tyres on the drive, however I will now find an alternative as I am very unhappy with this recent lack of good customer service.

I need to rearrange this booking.
I called last week. After hanging on the line for about 15 minutes, I spoke to one person who couldn't deal with my problem. they tried to connect me to the people that could deal with my mobile tire booking but they couldn't get through so they gave me the number..
I then called the number I couldn't get through either..
This is ridiculous..
And it seems to be no way to rearrange a booking..
That's really basic these days halfords. I shouldn't have to hang on the phone for an indeterminate length of time trying to speak to someone.
So please take this as cancellation of my booking tomorrow. And I don't know is it worth trying to rebook?
Not if this is what I have to go through if I need to cancel and rearrange..

Absolutely Appalling Service – Avoid at All Costs!
Booked a tyre fitting with Halfords Tyres on the Drive for 4th March, but the fitter never showed up. To make matters worse, I received an email at 19:30 claiming the job was completed—when in reality, no one had turned up!
After a frustrating struggle to get through to customer service, I was rescheduled for 9th March, only for them to cancel again due to “staff sickness.” Finally, on 12th March—9 days after my original appointment—they showed up and did the job. Meanwhile, my car was off the road, causing major inconvenience.
Communication was shocking, customer service was unhelpful, and their inability to keep appointments is completely unacceptable. I would never use them again and strongly advise others to avoid Halfords Tyres on the Drive!
The only positive was that the fitter who eventually did the job on 12th March was excellent—10/10 for his work and professionalism. If only the rest of the service had matched his standard!
⭐ 1/5 – If I could give zero stars, I would!

Didn’t turn up. No communication. No customer service agents despite the website times stating it was open.
Never using again.
Excellent service
Having spent 20 minutes fitting a new battery to my car the technician then discovered that this new battery was in fact a dud. He then had to drive to the nearest Halfords branch a round trip of 40 miles to source a replacement!
This he did without hesitation and maintained a professional manner throughout.

Stupidly used Halfords to order 4 tyres online for fitting at home
Ordered 4 tyres online.
Booked date and time for fitting.
Took time off work to be at home for the scheduled fitting.
Received text to confirm fitting.
Received a call at 19:50 to say that the fitter was over 1.5 hours away, maybe longer!
Asked if they would be fitted the following day - answered “maybe “
Not very happy about this.
Called the following morning - told that it had been rescheduled over a week ahead.
Asked about cancelling and refund - nothing clear about this!
Absolutely hopeless, quick to take your money - very incompetent service - doubtful about any refund.
I SHOULD HAVE USED KWIK FIT.

Cancelled at 18.55 despite waiting around all day and calling them at 18.00 to be assured they were on their way. Claimed the call centre was closed at 18.00 but then miraculously got a call at 20.00 to re book… next fitting slot not for 6 days later or they could cancel!!. Absolutely fuming, zero customer care, zero care in general.
Fitters are overbooked, mine was stuck in horsham over 90 mins drive away apparently.
Not good enough!

Not as convenient as it sounds. Days to wait for appointment, 12 hour window unless you pay an uplift then they don't show up. Simpler and more reliable to use a local garage. Also haven't been given a refund and you can't get hold of them at all, so now £200 out of pocket.

Had an appointment booked for 4 days for two new tyres, 8am - 8pm, waited in all day, by 6:30pm thought weird not heard anything, I had to ring them, oh spoke to the depot they’re not coming, no sorry or anything. Oh thanks for the heads up. Your options are a refund in 14 days or for them again in 3 days. Both deeply unhelpful options. Literally not a single sorry or offer to do anything at all.
Now stuck at 6:30pm having wasted a whole day and now everywhere I could have got them done is shut and so I’m up the creek!
Avoid, they literally couldn’t care less!
