Not a great experience...

Two Men & A Truck DOES NOT rebuild beds when you get to your destination. Two Men & A Truck DO NOT put the boxes into the respective rooms at your destination. There is no courtesy call to let you know they are coming the following day. At Two Men & A Truck, ii you move a Saturday--there isn't a single working number that you can call for support that will connect you to a live person. UNLIKE SO MANY FRANCHISES WHO MANDATE POLICIES TO ENCOURAGE A CONSISTENT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, Each retailer of THIS franchise has their own policies around what they will/won't do--so if you use this mover--I would be very diligent--ask for policies in WRITING or you may be surprised that all your boxes are shoved into 1 room and the beds will NOT be assembled. This is a mess --for any sane, professional person who is just looking for a simple move--go anywhere else. Avoid the headaches and disappointment. NOTE: This review is of the Two Men &. A Truck Houston. Address: 7935 Wright Rd Ste B, Houston, TX 77041. IMHO, this is the classic example of a company that started off really great--franchised, grew--and now--could not be LESS concerned with their customers experience or happiness. There is no consistency and absolutely ZERO customer service. The mission, according to their website of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is to continuously strive to exceed our customers' expectations in value and high standard of satisfaction. The expectations were set by THEM--and frankly we couldn't have been more disappointed. We've called for resolution but are being met with the blame game- apparently we didn't hold a formal walk through with the movers before they left--so the fault is our own.

Read the reviews before advancing

They arrived one hour late. The driver stayed on his hands free phone for over 2 hours while loading the goods. I believe that is what caused them to to off leaving 11 boxes behind. He simply was not paying attention. Later the driver told me they were leaving and and I told him there were 2 chairs, a table, 3 copper pots and a carrier still out on the patio. They had walked past these items a half dozen times while taking boxes out of the patio closet. They left after loading these items without telling me. I scrambled to load up all the odds and ends they ignored. I left to follow them to the new site about an hour after they left. I drove 1 1/4 hours to the new site and waited about 20 minutes, then called them. They said they would be there in 20 minutes. They got here almost an hour later. It took them over 3 hours to make an 80 mile drive. In unpacking I found 3 very heavy decorative pots broken, but that was minor to me. What was not minor was the fact that they broken two a 2" wide, 3/8" thick cast iron brace on a table I had made. I can't imagine what they di to break this cast iron piece which was located towards the top of the table base. That evening I asked my daughter to pick up the 3 copper pots they missed that I had left with a neighbor. That is when she went into the apartment and discovered the 11 boxes they left in a closet. The apartment complex manager told them to clear out the boxes so my daughter and grand daughter loaded everything in their pick up and put it in their garage. took 6 days for them to pick up the boxes get the 11 boxes to me. I failed to read the previous reviews ahead of time and that was my undoing. Through the many calls to the company during this process I can't remember anyone apologizing until the last guy wanting more money called. I sincerely hope more people would read these reviews and take them seriously. They are probably the best advice you can get. I take great pleasure in writing good reviews. To me it is fun. This review was not fun.

Was sent an invoice to look over before…

Was sent an invoice to look over before signing and agreeing with the contract which I never did. Just needed to have a bed in a few boxes moved like 20 minutes away from each other. I was quoted almost $1000. Then when I told him I do not need their services the butt hole on the phone says he was going to charge me a cancellation fee. good luck with that buddy. I’ll dispute it !

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING ANYONE ELSE. Two young, inexperienced and unmotivated guys moved me out of my apartment and my sister and I actually did much more work than they did. They kept stopping to sit down and took much longer than they should’ve. They made me upsize my storage unit because they didn’t feel like putting any effort into making things fit so I’ve had to pay more for a unit for the past several months because of their laziness. Finally moved out of it today *myself* and found my expensive sleeper sofa to have gashes and mud caked on all around the foot of it. Oh, and they also broke a lamp and thought it was funny... got that comped. But really just wish I would have gotten ANYONE else to move me. Now it will be lots of fun to have to buy a new sofa since they ruined this one and never told me. Sucky company in my opinion.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS …

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! After giving me a competitive price and moving my stuff into storage for 4 months, I called them to tell them of the expected move date and location. I then took the day off to be available to them. They ended up not showing until after 2:30 in the afternoon, so in essence I gave up a days pay when I could have worked and met with them after. They then attempted to charge me after I was called twice that same week by the office stating that I would not be charged as our house was so close to their location. They then went behind my back and not only took the amount of my account, but they took an additional $500 on top of that basically emptying my account and going into my overdraft protection account as well. They never contacted me about how the move went (even though there were about 7-8 things broken). When I contacted the office about this. The woman stated that the conversation of the no charge delivery never took place. No integrity in the office and questionable ethics. Take your business elsewhere. (Flint - MI.)

Two Men and A Truck moved me from old…

Do not use this company!
Two Men and A Truck moved me from old apartment to new apartment community in Feb 2021. I was very dissatisfied with the movers. My complaints are as follows…
1. Mover had to be reminded to wear mask as requested when booking move.
2. Upon leaving my old apartment to drive up the street to my new apartment , the drivers called me to say they were stopping to get something to drink, then he said they will get a sandwich. They didn’t say where but they were gone for 30 minutes. I reported matter to the company.
3. One of the drivers dropped some of my belongings into the wrong apartment. No excuse, they had my new address/apartment number listed on their papers.
4. They broke one of my China plates. The driver called his office to report broken plate but I’ve never received a callback from the company.

The drivers were unprofessional, and overall, the move was stressful and disappointing. I would not recommend using this company!

STAY AWAY!!

My contract stated I would have a 3 man team but because they were short staffed only 2 were there for the 1st hour. One of there team member's had to drop the 3rd member off. As they waited for this team member 1 of the 2 movers mentioned how he was supposed to be off but they called him in last minute. This is just to be clear how short staffed they were. A few hours into the move the team showed me that the truck was full and they didn't have much room for anything else. So he called his Manager, Brittany to advise her of the issue. Once he hung up, i asked "so what's the resolution?" he said "they don't care". So Brittany calls me highly agitated telling me they can't move my refrigerator because it requires them to take the doors off and they can't do that. I told her that was false because Home Depot removed my front door to bring it in so they still needed to move it. So she wanted to argue about that. At this point I'm pissed because she seems to have an attitude when I'm the one that paid her company to move. Fast forward past the back and forth arguing, my next question is how are you going to move the rest of my items. I sold my house and I need to be out of here by 5pm? She goes on to say she needs to "see" if she can get another truck out there and how it was gonna cost extra blah, blah, blah....My response is I don't care about the logistics. Brittany and I had words and she decided to hang up the phone in my face. What i kept telling her was I'm not arguing with someone I paid to do a job, so just GET IT DONE! If i wanted to be this involved in the details i would have moved myself with friends. The point of agreeing to pay a company 1000 plus dollars for a move is to get it done professionally and in a timely manner. Well none of that happen. So, the other truck never came and a lot of large items including my $3000 refrigerator was still left at the property.
So, i had to make arrangements with OpenDoor to RENT my house back for $213 per additional day. I didn't find another moving company to come out until Monday (the original move took place on Sat), i had to pay them $575 for 3 hours and I'll add that they were able to move my refrigerator but just removing the front door to the house and I paid OpenDoor an additional $426 to have the home for 2 more days. On Saturday, i informed 1 of the movers that I wasn't paying the balance of $592 because they didn't complete the job. He called who he needed to call, i tipped him $100 and he left.
Right after he left I called Amex and had them block any additional charges from Two Men and Truck. After, i was alerted by Amex that the company tried twice to submit the charges I got a call from Two Men and truck no apology just a call informing me that they worked 6 hours and needed to be paid. Whomever, the man was that called me could careless that the job wasn't finished, the extra expenses that i incurred nor the fact that his employee hung up on me. So, he mad sure to threaten me with collections and a lawsuit if I didn't pay. I told him I could careless and that I'd be glad to go to court.
However, Two Men and a Truck continued to try to charge my account and it eventually went through. Right now, i have a dispute with Amex because they said sometimes companies use different vendors (or something like it) to try to process payments and that's why it was allowed to go through.
So, we'll see how that goes. I was going to let that process handles it's self until I discovered that my $600 Fuji road bike that 2 Men and a truck moved and threw in my garage has a bent frame and the back tire is no longer on the bike. It's not rideable at this point. Prior to discovering this...maybe 3 days after the move I took the shrink wrap off my new Samsung washer/dryer set to find the entire top of the dryer dented. This company is disgusting and should be ashamed of ripping folks off and destroying their property. DO BETTER!

This review is for 2 Men & a Truck…

This review is for 2 Men & a Truck located in Fletcher, North Carolina. Our job was a two-part move. First, it was moving the bulk items from my home to a local storage facility, then a move 700 miles away to our new residence a month later. My wife and I are 70 & 66, and we packed all the incidentals, clothes, books, dishes, etc, with the idea of reducing our moving costs. We filled one 10 ft storage unit ourselves and rented a second one for the furniture. All that was left was the big stuff, couch, recliner, bedroom, a desk, and 3 TVs. I even gave away all the furniture in our second bedroom. Easy right? There weren't even any appliances. They gave me a written estimate of between $800 and $1100, which I thought was high to begin with. When the movers came the guy in charge, Dak, took a half-hour explaining things I already knew, or could have read. It took them 3 1/2 hours to unload half a house. When we got to the storage facility I asked Dak how long it would take to unload. He said an hour, hour, and a half. I left to do a few errands and returned an hour later. They had already unloaded all the big furniture (2 man job) and now Dak was at the unit while his helper unloaded everything else himself. Dak would "pack it" and line everything with brown paper which was completely unnecessary as the furniture was already padded and shrink-wrapped. When I questioned him, he said they have to do it. He was very defensive. Dak only left the unit once and that was to get something out of the cab. He didn't help the kid unload anything. Long story short, it took them over 3 hours to unload and the bill was $1300. Their estimate maxed at $1008 and I thought the minimum, which was $800, was more like it. I refused to sign and Dak put me on with the boss. He refused to lower the price even to the $1100 level. The price is the price he said. I signed for the $1300 and disputed the bill with my cc company. As I was leaving I had to squeeze through a small space as Dak didn't park far enough to the left to give people room to get by. My mirror caught a pole and folded back and then popped forward. As it did that it made a sound and Dak came around from the back of the truck and angrily accused me of hitting his truck. He's a big guy and I'm 70. It was unnerving. These guys are the worst from the top down to the crew leader. The young man who was the helper was the hardest worker. Good kid. I told them if they did a good job on this move, I would give them the big one too. LOL. What a businessman!
I disputed the bill, agreed to pay $800, and my bank accepted. This was a half-a-day job and should have been scheduled as one. I made it very clear at inception that there was very little left to move other than the furniture so they knew right at the start that they were going to stretch this out and rip the old people off.

Bad Experience - Stockbridge GA Location

I did not have the best experience with my move with the Stockbridge, GA location. The movers were friendly, but apart of my desk was broken by one of the movers. Also, I had a box of cleaning supplies from the laundry room contained gallons of bleach. One mover told me he could not carry certain items on the truck and asked me to unlock my car so he can put a few boxed items in the back seat. The mover put the box in side ways and not flat down to fit more items in the back seat. I noticed I needed to take the two boxes out of my car after the move was completed and noticed the smell of bleach. I immediately moved my boxes and saw that some bleach spilled out on the back seat of my car on my leather seat. I reached out to the company and I was advised they would not be compensating me for any damage done by the bleach spill. At this point it is not about compensating (which something should happen if there is permanent damage) It is about the principle of doing what's right and treating clients fairly and justly. The way I was treated given the $1700+ I paid for the service is just wrong! Overall, horrible experience!

Horrible Moving Company

My son and his wife booked the Norwalk Two Men and A truck for their move. Today the movers showed up and refused to wear masks. My daughter in law stated that they went back in their truck and drove away. She called the Norwalk office and was told that they don't wear masks while doing the move and the office then cancelled their move and refunded their money while leaving them high and dry. HOWEVER, when you call any of the TMT offices a whole long spiel message comes on telling about how Covid compliant they are. I called the main office in Lansing, Michigan and was told they don't wear masks. The public needs to know that Two Men and a Truck DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SPREAD OF COVID !!! Do NOT use these people. I immediately called the mover I used this year and they are moving my son and his wife and YES, they wear masks because as the rep said, it is code and the responsible thing to do. Horrible company... stay away... stay very far away ... did not wear masks, refused to do so and got in their truck and drove away ... really??? and don't respond you are Covid compliant... you are NOT ... am posting this on all social media platforms...
***UPDATE owner responded with more lies saying how the movers are required to wear masks...the movers REFUSED to wear masks and the office stood behind them and cancelled the move... even Angelina at the home office in Lansing, Michigan said they don't have to wear masks... TMT says treat the customer like your grandma... well it's evident they want to kill her...

2 men+ truck disappoints

I love the story behind the company, however they need to focus on the quality behind the generic looking name. They have great logo and easily recognizable company name-something you won't forget, but along with that comes the won't forget quality of packing that my guys did. I rented a PODS container and they packed my boxes and stacked my PODS container. The team that provided the service was pretty friendly towards me but not towards the third co-worker. I also didn't find their packing skills to be all that great. They cherry-picked from each room and stacked the PODS container that way instead of packing each room, staging it in the garage then loading. I was left with a managerie of items from each room left in my garage some items packed and some not. They charged me for 6.5 hours and took an hour lunch, and assured me they didn't charge me for that. I am so disappointed with this company. That part is my fault, by the time they were done with my small place I just wanted them gone. They weren't efficient or friendly towards one another. I know they were trying but they really need training on how to pack. I left a $200 tip for the three of them and had bought them Krispy Creme donuts and left them on the table. I had a bad experience with these guys- so disappointed. Their team leader even stopped by and checked in on them. At that point they seemed to be doing well. I gave the team leader kudos for putting an effort forth on the quality piece. I also had to have their disposal service come out and take garbage to the waste facility because the packing guys just weren't efficient and knowledgeable with packing a household.

Don’t do it!!!!!!!!

Oh my God!!!!! DO NOT use this company. They tore up my furniture. How do grown men destroy things as small as night stands? They are slow and they send people who aren't trained , and train them on your dime. What should of been 2-3 hours took 5 costing me over $900. I wish I could take it back they are terrible and will cost you a lot of money in damages and time. Beware!!!! Not disgruntle just want to warn the next person. Go someplace else

Be very careful when booking this firm and don't underestimate the volume you need moved!!!!
Anything over your booking volume is charged at an extortionate rate and despite booking a same day transfer, which didn't actually happen they had the audacity to charge me an extra £250- even with me supplying 2 additional movers myself.
Stay well clear!!!!!!!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! Movers were polite and nice but my husband had to provide tools to Disassemble furniture. Was asked if I wanted to pay extra insurance to cover 20,000 dollars of damage which I did. Cost was 150 dollars. Do not do this!!! Was told later by their customer service that this covers nothing through them but by the state??? After they broke my marble counter top for a bedroom dresser and broke my leg to my sons bedroom dresser they offered 125 dollars. Their reason for not covering anything is the material it’s made of??? My marble was said to have been an item that was easily broken so that’s not covered. My sons dresser was bought from rooms to go and was not cheap! They told me that material was resin and therefore easily broken so again not covered. I don’t know what they do cover but find out about everything they touch and ask if it’s covered. It took three months to finally get compensated for my marble and it was less than half the cost of the estimate I had gotten. The customer service is non existent. Horrible would be a compliment. Countless phone calls with promises of a return call and then nothing. At the end the lady tried to argue with me about how much she did and I was in tears. I was so glad not to have to deal with this company ever again.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE and COST…

THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE and COST US €3,500 !!! It was completely mismanaged by gentleman Alan Tierney who speak nicely but then acts outrageously.

Booked Two Men and a Truck after a nice chat with them and estimate quote €830 for moving 2-bed house with 2 men and 1 Van. This is where good ends. Movers (they were very nice men, nothing to do with them) arrived an hour late at 9am with no promised boxes etc, and advised that this is in fact a 12-hour job and needs more man and going to cost us way more etc! After our frustration Alan Tierney brought more boxes and advised more man may come later. 3(!) more man came at 5pm just as the packing was done (they weren’t needed then!) and helped unloading only. 11 hours later Alan charged our credit card €3,400 without even sending us a bill to review. He included the charge for all these not needed men who came way too late and all boxes etc, 5 separate transactions without our approval.

In the end instead of 5 hours and €1,000 and us not packing. We were there Packing and carrying everything, 10 hours and paid €3,500.
Seems like in this company they have no idea what they are doing, giving completely wrong Time and costs estimates , arriving late, charging with no approval - we are looking into involving legal authorities to resolve this.

Dishonest and irresponsible

The one in Wichita KS broke my electric recliner, I called 6 times, more than a month, they never response to fix. Once they got your money, they don’t care anymore.
I had a move with them on August 1st and it lasted around 5 hours. 2 days after the move, I plugged in my electric recliner and half of it DIDN'T WORK. It worked perfectly before the move. After I called them to report the damage, the manager called and left a voice mail for me, asked me to call him back. I called them 6 TIMES through out the course of 3 weeks and NEVER get to talk directly to the manager or get them to go forward with fixing my recliner. I have worked with different movers before and never had any problems. I decided to go with 2 men & a truck and paid a higher price because of the good reviews and the insurance. All I expect is for them to go through with their promises and fix the damage that they caused.

For all the people reading this review and consider using their service, it's really a matter of luck whether you get your valuable stuffs damaged or not, the other bad reviews are true. It's stressful enough to move, it's way worse having your stuffs damaged and feeling like you have to beg to get your stuffs fixed.
Unfortunately they never called or tried to fix after I posted this review on Google because my review never shows up on top so it's nothing to them.

Two Men and a Truck - Arlingotn

This review is for the Arlington, TX location. Jennifer did a great job being professional and proactive to help set up the move and estimate the required services. For the day of the move, I would give Micah M. and his crew 6 stars if I could. They were professional, well-prepared, friendly, and fun to work with. Because you are billed an hourly rate above the base charge, speed is important. The crew never took a break and was almost running at some points to get everything loaded and unloaded. Their speed put the move several hours under the estimate saving me hundreds of dollars. I would highly recommend them to anyone, especially Micah.
