B A D C O M P A N Y…
I ordered Tulip bulbs from a December advertisement. Little did I know that these bulbs would be delivered the first week in Jan. Now, I live in zone 5, and find it hard to believe a professional tulip company would send me bulbs in the middle of winter, and under their warranty I needed to plant them right away, and if fail take pictures. Well anyone knows in zone 5 that you plant tulips in Spring/Fall. I stored them in my garage and then when Spring arrived unwrapped them to find a green fungus/mold all over them. I called the company and they said, since I stored them and did not plant them right away they are not covered. She even said they were Spring planted bulbs.
Stay away from this company! I paid a lot of money and hardly anything is yet to come up. Pretty sad to say the least. I wil now address it with PayPal. I’m sure I can find rotten bulbs in the ground.

I was gifted a three pack of waxed dahlia bulbs, one arrived rotten. Tulip World replaced quickly, but replacement was a dud also. I've had these in the past, and the shipment from Tulip World was sub par quality

Poor customer and do not stand behind their guarantee
I spent hundreds of dollars on bulbs and roots from Tulip World, excited to start my new garden. I took all the right steps—using proper soil, compost, and fertilizer—but was extremely disappointed with the results. Nearly everything I purchased on sale was poor quality. The canna roots and gladiolus, in particular, were rotted, and not a single Cleopatra, Louis cotton, rosemond or other specialty canna sprouted.
I contacted customer service in June 2024, concerned about the condition of the roots, but planted them anyways to give it a chance. When nothing grew, I followed up this spring, expecting a refund based on my documentation, but they refused. Their 100% guarantee is completely bogus.
I want others to know—if you buy sale items from this company, don’t expect quality or customer support if your plants fail. I won’t be purchasing from them again.

No Blooms
They all did not bloom. Cold forced by them, 4 different kinds of bulbs...ZERO bloomed. Crocus, daffodils and tulips...ZERO.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT BUY
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE for the love of God, do NOT order from Tulip World. This was my first time ordering from them, and every single bulb except for 7 (I ordered 100 pre-chilled tulip bulbs of various varieties) arrived rotting, molded, or squishy. I contacted customer service immediately with plenty of photos, and they were nice and helpful. They sent me replacement bulbs free of charge. But then I got the replacement bulbs, and--I wish I was kidding--the replacement bulbs were MORE DECOMPOSED THAN THE ORIGINAL BULBS THEY SENT ME. I contacted Tulip world for a full refund, no more replacements, no store credit, so hopefully they're reasonable and accommodating. All this to say, SAVE YOUR MONEY--Do not order from this company. There is NO quality control. NO ONE is looking at the inventory before sending it to customers.

TERRIBLE
TERRIBLE, I mean TERRIBLE customer service. Lonnnng time gardener with long time bulb planting experience. Purchased tulips in late October and chilled in non-fruit containing refrigerator for 12 weeks which I have always done with my bulbs from other companies. Now, I am ready to plant in Mountain View, CA and my bulbs are wrinkled and float when I placed them in a bowl of water. Healthy bulbs sink. Contacted company but they refused to make good on their 100% guarantee because they stated the bulbs should have been planted immediately. It was too warm to plant then. I never do that. Speaking with 2 people including a supervisor got me nowhere. So, don't trust this company to do the right thing. This EX-customer won't be buying from them, EVER.

Poor quality bulbs with poor customer…
Poor quality bulbs with poor customer service.
Disappointing experience. I do not recommend.
Placed two orders for daffodils order…
Placed two orders for daffodils order 1709694 and 1702109 and they were shipped in mid October to Dallas, Texas. We normally do not plant bulbs until thanksgiving when the temperature goes below 65 degrees. Our weather in October and November reached a high of 81 degrees in early November.
When we received the shipment of 600 bulbs of two different kinds, we followed the directions and stored them in a cool, dark, dry and well-ventilated place.
We did not remove the bulbs from the sacks they were packaged in.
This weekend when we were preparing to plant them, we took them out of the sacks. In the order of 500 bulbs 73 of the bulbs were dried or soft to the touch. The second order 18 bulbs of the 100 were in the in the same condition.
I chatted with the on-line host, and she told me that was nothing could be done because I did not contact the company within the 5 days. She did not offer any other solution.
Do not purchase from this company. They told me that the bulbs come from Holland. Purchase bulbs from an american grower.

I just received peony and oriental lily…
I just received peony and oriental lily bulbs, tiny, dried, moldy, not happy. I went on the site, tried chat, no response. They show reviews all high BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO POST A REVIEW! So all reviews have to be posted by the company. I waste of money. I Planted the bulbs but have little hope they will grow.

Avoid this company like the plague!!!…
Tulip bulbs are of inferior quality--I had to throw many dried and wrinkled bulbs, and I doubt if any of the remaining bulbs will grow healthy. Their jumbo size is miniscule compared to regular bulbs sent by other vendors. I don't usually write reviews, but avoid this company like the plague!!!

Literally 2 bulbs came out (not to say they will come back next year) from the probably 50 that I planted. I was a couple days past the warranty and they were 'not able to assist me any longer'. My advice: do not buy from them because chances are it will be a waste of your time and money. I had a bad feeling about this when I ordered and maybe I should have listened to my intuition a bit more...

Alovely chap ,named Nino called and was extremely gracious and professional,THANK Heavens !
What a shame ,it is a conundrum trying to place an order.THANKYOU Nino.
Don’t buy from them !!!
This is the worst company to deal with . I ordered fall bulbs and they both arrived at the end of October . I got the first box planted but the second box didn’t arrive til the end of October . It’s already frozen here . Called them 3 times , they never pick the phone up . They called me yesterday and I said I want to return this last box because it’s so late . They would not take it back . Also my credit for a phlox bush they can’t find . It was not used on my order either . This is just the worse company. I will never buy from them again . Terrible!!!

My complaints echo many others…
My complaints echo many other customers. I ordered specific plants for my garden on 2 occasions and some did not grow. I could not get the same plant as part of the guarantee, just a credit. I was told after the first call to wait a week and call back. That seems to be a standard practice to avoid fulfilling the guarantee.
I also pre ordered fall bulbs in the spring. The company lost the order and failed to mail it out with a second summer order. I had to remind them. The order was not even listed on the web site.
They say the fall mailings will start mid Sept. That's a lie. They didn't get in the mail until late Oct. When I called in late Sept, they said they hadn't even received their bulbs yet. Consequently, the bulbs will get in the ground late, making their proper growth suspect, and knowing their weak guarantee policy, my loss.
That's ok... they've lost me as a customer.
Follow-up on 11.04.24 Tulip World Response to my review.
You'll notice that the response said nothing about their losing my order. No apologies, no reasons, no compensation for late delivery. Nor did they mention that my bulbs are not guaranteed because I live in a warmer zone than their guarantee permits. Even though they were late in sending the order and I could not get them in the ground in early fall. Here's what their guarantee says: "We are not able to guarantee the viability of the items if they are not planted upon arrival and stored."
On the shipment of the late order they missed, I was told the bulbs are not guaranteed because they were not "hardy" in my growing zone. That's not listed in their guarantee, just these words: "There are many environmental factors that are needed for a plant to successfully grow. These factors, including but not limited to, poor weather, planting outside of recommended growing conditions, improper planting techniques, moisture/sunlight needs, location, timing, etc. are out of our control and therefore cannot be covered under our Guarantee."
They say below that clearance items can only get a credit and that's in their guarantee. What the guarantee really says is this: "If an item that fails to grow is part of a collection or bulk item, a merchandise credit will be issued for the same portion of the amount paid for the item." Again, the idea is to use their vague wording "collection or bulk item" to mean "clearance item."
Beware the buyer. You would think the company would provide better service and more understanding rather than using every trick and unwritten but vague words to not do what's right.

Disappointing experience
I ordered 250 daffodil bulbs. 43 of the 250 were mushy. The company would not do anything about it because they said I stored them too long. I stored them in a cool dry place for about 10 days because it has been unseasonably warm in my area and we didn't want to plant too early. This was for a community garden with limited funds. Will never deal with this company again.
Possible scam company
More than a month after I spent hundreds on their bulbs, they should've shipped already. Deplspite the dates liated on their site, the company still can't tell me when to expect them since those dates have already passed.
They say that they're really busy and will send the order when they can. It sounds like they're in over their head and can't keep up. This is a poorly run company that doesn't answer the phone. I recommend ordering from a more reputable business.
I ordered many irises from Tulip World…
I ordered many irises from Tulip World in 2023 and none started ! The size of their rhizomes were 1/5 of the size of the rhizomes sold by Schreiner iris garden. Don't waste your money buying from TW irises.
