False advertising
I have repeatedly received advertisement in my Facebook feed offering 85% off a particular bulb (pictured). When clicking through to order the bulb is only 50% off (bogo). Contacting the company they refuse to honor the advertised price. I've requested my complaint be escelated to a corporate decision maker with response being C/S doesn't have the ability to connect me with corporate. I asked for C/S to email a corporate director my complaint and copy me, that has not happened. I received the 85%off add at least 5 times on FB and have screen shot it twice. Short of BBB helping resolve this false advertising I will file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General office. Holland Bulb Farm has subsequently changed the FB add. I want to order 20 of the particular bulb (Children's Festival Day Lily) at 85%off roughly $2.37 each. 60 to 80% discounts are not unusual offers for HBF, I have purchased at those discounts several times in the past.
Poor quality Amaryllis bulbs
Ordered 3 Amaryllis bulbs for friends and myself. All took forever to bloom and then produced puny blooms that lasted a few days. Extremely disappointed and embarrassed.
Paperwhite Bulbs
Ordered paperwhites, some in pots for gifts others loose to plant myself. Those in pots flowered. Loose ones in separate pot grew stems but no flowers, They are side by side - same sun, same water . Go Figure??
Amaryllis bulbs defective
I ordered a total of 14 amaryllis bulbs for 14 different people as gifts. 4 our of 14 were defective. I contacted the company and sent pictures and they sent out replacements but for one person they got 2 replacements and they were both defective. You can not trust the quality of this companies product. I have ordered from them in the past without a problem. I am sorry that I will not be able to use them next year for my Christmas gifts but I don't want to risk so much disappointment and hassle.

I ordered a bulb pot containing 3 bulbs. The pic of the item I ordered showing them all blooming and I assumed that is what would happen. The white one bloomed and was dead but the time the red one is blooming and the 3rd isn't blooming yet. Total misrepresentation. They said to mail photos which I did. They refused to credit my account even though I send pics twice proving my point. This company deserves to go out of business!!! DON'T BUY FROM THEM--TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCTS ARE MISREPRESENTED.

I bought 3 waxed Amaryllis bulbs to have blooming for Christmas. One bulb a dud (same thing happened last year!) but they would only replace 1, so they won’t bloom together in the grouping that was intended. I gave them a second chance by trying again this year. Dumb! I should’ve known. Stay away. Product and customer service horrible. A lot to pay for flowers that aren’t blooming as intended for holiday decor. Never again.

Terrible Customer Service
I've ordered from this place before and wasn't really impressed. But when they sent me a measly 15% off coupon code in an email just 6 days ago, I decided to order some of their cheap tulip bulbs. My local stores were out so I figured why not? Well, the code they just sent me didn't work. I emailed them about it. 5 days later I got an email saying I had already used the code over a year ago and "thank you for understanding." Well, Regine I., actually what I don't understand is why I got an email with the code sent to me six days ago if it was no good. Also, it was only 15% off. You really couldn't just send me another code? Wow. Okay so apparently it's more important that they don't give a returning customer like $3 off. So I googled a 15% off code, used that and it worked. But their own company rep took 5 days to reply to an email and offered nothing. I ordered some average tulip bulbs, but will not be ordering from here ever again. There are plenty of other places to order from who probably have better customer service skills.
Unreliable
I ordered September 3rd expecting to receive my order mid October. I emailed a few times to check the status of my order because I live in a zone where we typically get early frost and we have. As if October 22 no shipment and still pending. I chatted and asked for a cancellation. They immediately cancelled which indicates to me that they never had any intention of shipping the order. Very bad business. Go elsewhere.
ITOH PEONY ROOT
I received my ITOH peony root today from Holland Bulb Farm.
It has 4 to 5 eyes as well as a large tuber with roots. It looks like it's in very good condition . I've already planted it and can't wait to see how it goes over the next couple of years .

Review: Buyer Beware!
I always give a company the opportunity to resolve an issue before posting a public review. Unfortunately, after reaching out to Holland Bulb Farms three separate times, I was never given the common courtesy of a response.
I placed my order 4–5 months ago and understood the bulbs would not ship until fall. However, I received no notification when they were actually shipped. Because bulbs need to be stored in a cool, dry place, this was a problem — they were delivered while I was on vacation and sat on my driveway for two weeks in the baking sun.
I contacted customer service to request a replacement shipment but never received any reply. My advice: look elsewhere for your bulbs. I would give them zero stars if possible and will not be purchasing from or recommending this company again.
Sent wrong dahlia tubers
I ordered 4 different types of dahlias in May. The tubers came in labeled bags, so I carefully planted them and labeled them according to the bags they came in. I had to wait until they grew and bloomed to figure out none of the plants matched the labels from the bags. Also, two of the dahlia plants were NOT what I ordered. It seems like they just threw some tubers in bags and called it a day. I will never order from them again. I also had to unsubscribe from their email list because of the constant emails several times a day.
