We received professional advice, emotional support and fantastic claims experience with the staff at TuGo. At a very low point in our trip and subsequent health recovery challenges, we were treated with care, respect and integrity. All our expenses were covered without any issues. We would highly recommend TuGo!
We were in Mexico for winter. My husband started to retain water and was having a hard time breathing and walking. Took him to clinic where we were looked at by doctor. After a few times at clinic they put him on a 24 hour heart monitor and end result he was diagnosed with afib which is a heart condition. He got worse and we made decision to fly home as we had driven down. TUGO was absolutely excellent to deal with. We got my husband to hospital in BC where he spent 18 days. Weighed in at 308 pounds and lost 82 pounds in that time. He had lost some physical weight but most of this was the fluid. Had we drove home he would have had a stroke for sure. We would recommend this insurance to anyone. Did our claim online. Thank you TUGO for covering our claim.
My wife was diagnosed with a serious physical illness while we were vacationing in Florida and we had to come back immediately to Canada for treatment. TuGo helped me to open a claim and I was able to recover the cost of our rental for the rest of our stay in the Florida keys.
If you don't think you need interruption insurance, think again. We have never imagined a situation like this and I am very thankful for the amazing customer service and coverage provided by TuGo!
While away in Fl while having lunch I broke a tooth. I gound an emergency dentist who had to put a crown on it.
I-called my insurance agent and asked if this would be covered, he wasn’t sure? Once fixed I contacted Togo, they said it wasn’t all covered but suggested I put in a claim. I was delighted to receive a cheque for $700 Cdn, the whole crown was t covered but they paid a good portion. I am very pleased with TuGo and the $700 I received.

Great experience, right from the time of my travel interruption through the claims process. The request for documentation was clear, and once I provided it the claims approval process was very smooth and transparent
My father suffered a massive stroke while on vacation in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and ended up in hospital. TuGo helped my mother every step of the way to deal with the paperwork needed to open the claim. They organized his return home to Nova Scotia, Canada via air ambulance. They had great communication with us, were informative, direct and at the same time compassionate. Without their assistance this whole situation would have been way more complicated.
If you think you don't need medical or emergency travel insurance, think again. We never imagined a situation like this would happen and are very thankful for the amazing customer service and coverage TuGo was able to provide.
I was recently returning from vacation and my flight got cancelled due to unforeseen events. On hearing that it was cancelled, I immediately reviewed my trip cancellation/trip interruption coverage to see what was included. I was glad to see it covered reasonable accommodation and expenses incurred if I had to make an alternate booking which I did.
There were a lot of disgruntled passengers but having trip insurance provided me with peace of mind.
I kept all receipts, including food, hotel and transportation. On returning home, I contacted TuGo who immediately set up a claim for me and provided me with the required forms. After gathering all the documents required, I submitted them to TuGo who then processed my claim, and I received exactly the amount that I requested.
Overall, this was a good experience, and I would recommend that all travelers get insurance since you never know what is going to happen.
My only negative in the entire process is that the claim did take quite a bit longer than expected to process. However, their phone support and callback feature were great. In the end, the claim was settled to my satisfaction.
It was my first time to use TUGO. I must say that they were available when I called them from my hospital bed that dreadful night while on vacation. The challenge was with the hospital because they did not agree to do direct billing as per the Tugo staff request but insisted that I pay out of pocket and follow up with my insurance. Thank God I was able to pay otherwise it would have been detrimental.
Tugo instructed me to collect all the payment receipts and email them which I did upon return to Canada. It took 6 weeks and they refunded all the hospital bill amount. I will purchase my next travel medical insurance with you. Thank you TuGo

My son was attending a hockey academy in the USA and required coverage for students, including coverage for hockey related injury. TuGo was one of the very few companies that provided this coverage. From the first phone call I made TuGo representatives were polite and helpful. They took the time to answer all my questions and pointed out the differences in the plans available. They would quickly provide quotes and follow up with timely emails.
When we had to use the benefits (which we did a few times over the 2 years we had plans with TuGo) the process was simple. TuGo looked after everything and processed claims quickly. The advisors kept me informed throughout the process. Reimbursements for anything we had to pay for out of pocket were made quickly.
I highly recommend TuGo for travel coverage. I've already recommended TuGo to a bunch of Canadian families that have children attending schools in the USA. All have been happy with the service they have received.

Days before my expected departure from Taiwan, I fell ill from COVID infection and needed to extend my departure another nine days. I sent an email to Goose representation Derek and he indicated that I had purchased trip interruption insurance and needed documentation to support the diagnosis and to contact the policy administrator immediately. Unfortunately, I had difficulty getting through on my cell phone and there was a sixteen hour time difference to Vancouver time. I wrote back and said I would follow up with claim after my return to Canada. There were a few hoops to jump through to be evaluated at the local Taiwanese hospital to be seen by a doctor and receive the certificate in English to prove that I did indeed suffer from COVID. After that I followed through with filing my claim for the trip interruption expenses, gathered all the original required documents and mailed them to TuGo.
Though the experience was arduous on my end, I was delighted that TuGo accepted my claim and I was reimbursed for all my additional expenses in a very timely manner. Everyone that helped me through the process of submitting a claim was professional, kind and made things clear on how get through.
I really appreciate your staff and company for making my experience so positive. There is no hesitation in recommending your company to others, in fact, I already have.

You ask for a rating of my recent experience but my recent experience was minor and I got the customary great service. But what I think is more important is the major incident that made me a TuGo lifer.
We were in Tahiti for New Year's Eve, December 2016. We had flown there late on December 28 from ice and snow at home to 100F degree temperatures. On the 29rd we really did feel the heat. I passed out in our room on the 30th. Diagnosis was dehydration. Treatment was fluids and fruit and I would be fine by the 31st. But on the morning of the 31st I passed out again and this time, they said I was going to hospital.
After examination I was diagnosed with life threatening blood clots. I was told I'd be staying in hospital for 6 nights, 3 in intensive care and 3 in the cardio unit as the clots had been stopping blood flow into my heart. Scary stuff and my wife was a wreck but the hospital was 5 star and even offered her counselling support with or without mood altering meds. Tahiti is French and the hospital was only 5 years old, state of the art and the staff were all young and trained in Paris. So don't worry if you go there and get sick. You'll be well taken care of.
But they also have an office for dealing with foreigners and their insurance companies. So very shortly after I was admitted, they called TuGo and were told that they were to "leave him alone" and that all medical bills should go to them. The TuGo rep also said I was also to get a call from my case manager after I was released.
As I was told would happen, a wonderful woman called me the day I was released and was very supportive. She showed real empathy for the condition and knew that I was now not to fly for an extended period of time. She said again, do not worry. I was just to keep receipts for every cent we spent on basics of living, bundle them up when we got back, and send them over to her. She would quickly review and if appropriate, send me a cheque. And I did. And she did. And I got the cheque from TuGo before the Visa bill came in. Amazing.
We hope we never have to use medical insurance but if we do, we need to know our insurance company will take care of us. Will they be there when you need them. And TuGo was certainly there for me in Tahiti. Since then I've been a TuGo lifer.

The Tugo representative was very supportive and helped us navigate through the process during a very stressful time. The hospital dealt directly with Tugo and I could focus on getting well while in hospital. They were there for me when I needed them.
