My mum came to Canada from the UK last July we used Tugo for the first time. A few days after she arrived she showed signs of covid and ended up at emergency and then a 5 day stay in hospital
I have to say Tugo were fabulous they totally took over the bill for the hospital which was pretty large!
I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone travelling
TUGO was fair and quick in dealing with our claim despite the high cost to them. They responded in a timely manner, no delay
After we compiled all information tugo needed for the claim, payout was within a few short weeks. Very easy process and fast reimbursement. Thank you Tugo you give us the security and piece of mind we need while travelling with kids abroad.
Reached out to the toll-free number to submit a claim as one of the flights for my trip to Vietnam had been impacted. Got quickly transferred to a representative who kind, well informed and incredibly helpful in processing. Completed the paperwork the day I recieved it and was able to get payment prior to departure. This was greatly appreciated as it ensured the trip could go-on. Will forever use TUGO as my provider. Thanks again.

My wife and I have had medical situations that required claims on our travel insurance at Tugo. In both cases, the people we talked to were extremely helpful, and our claims were handled in a timely manner. We were given full approval in both cases. We have shopped around but always come back to Tugo.

We had an excellent response from TuGo when my husband was badly burned in Florida in April, 2023. I received a claim number immediately and all our emergency care at two hospitals and prescriptions were fully covered. The TuGo staff were efficient and very kind during this extremely stressful event. We will most certainly stay with them for Insurance Coverage.
Our group of four had planned and purchased a scotland golf tour this summer. We had purchased a TUGO travel policy in spite of insurance / trip disruption coverage we already had with our credit cards AND our airline!
Long story short, our airline delayed flights to europe, causing us to miss the first two days of our tour. Requests to our airline (as they had caused the pro lem) were met with a canned response that they accepted no fault. Our credit card company said the same.
I had expected to get the same runaround from TUGO (first experience) but in fact received prompt and professional service. Our claim was satisfied and we were reimbursed in full.
My thanks go to TUGO for standing behind their product. Wish I could say the same about the airline!
Tugo responded quickly when I had a claim and kept me well informed as it was processed by the medical clinic I visited while on holiday in the United States.
I really like that I can purchase or renew my policy either online or with an agent who lives in my city. I’ve done both with excellent results.
Tugo also has the lowest rates I’ve been able to find.
Upon successfully completing our applications for Med coverage while traveling I attempted to print my policy and found it virtually unreadable due to both the combination of tiny type size and faint grey ink for the tiny type.
This appears to be intentional. When a more readable copy wass requested the agent quickly told us to refer to our input form; infering that they were aware of this critical shortcoming. I can only think of negative reasons for an important Insurance policy to be virtually unreadable.

This company have gone out of their way to be impractical in dealing with my emergency. Buyer beware. Read the fine print. They notified me on the day that my coverage lapsed that they would not cover my flight even though I was medically not allowed to fly.

* - I bought TuGo Travel Insurance (option Industrial Alliance) for 175 days for USA (FL) at the cost of $702.07 CAD but instead, I came back to BC 29 days before my planned trip of 175 days.
* - 3.5 months after the beginning of my stay in the USA I was coughing a lot for 4 weeks, so I paid for a doctor's visit at the CareSpot 2 times (($200 USD x 2) + Meds $33 USD).
* - My policy stated that the deductible was $300 USD, so they refunded me $133 USD converted into CAD.
* - TuGo told me if I claimed insurance, they wouldn’t refund me the difference of 29 days earlier!!
* - 3 things I didn’t like about my experience:
* 1) TuGo sent the claim check to my BC’s home instead of my Florida home.
* 2) TuGo forfeited the refund of the insurance cost for coming home 29 days earlier.
* 3) TuGo didn’t send me an Insurance card to be used in the USA to be used in an Emergency case, I.e. that in an Emergency case, I would have to pay from my own pocket, which could be a lot before I could make a claim to get back the money.
* 3a) Travel insurance like Medipac used to send out an insurance card so that in Emergency cases when I was unconscious the hospital would talk directly to Medipac.
i was diagnosed with cancer while we were on vacation and with the help of some great Florida doctors and our insurance company, we were very well taken care of.. the representatives we dealt with from Tugo we’re very patient and of great help, and they did their very best to help us in each and every way… I am very very happy. We had such a good travel insurance in our time of need.
The professionalism in handling our claim, and the constant updates on the progress, and status of our claim.
My experience has been great so far, ranging from the reps that revive my call and give me answers to my questions,it's good customer service for me.
The company responded clearly and fully, and after a reasonable time, accepted my claims (two in two years) and paid the full amount claimed in both cases. All correspondence was pleasant and easy to deal with and their forms are in plain English. I strongly recommend them.-
I’m so glad I decided to go with Tugo as my out of country medical and trip interruption coverage. I hadn’t heard of Tugo before my insurance agent suggested it. My husband and I went to Maui for 14 days and I needed to go to a walk in clinic due to an injury and lost medication during our stay in Maui. Called a Tugo agent prior to get advice on navigating the claim procedure and she was very helpful and understanding. Neither the clinic or the Chiropractic Office I went to direct billed so I paid in full (U.S. dollars). After arriving home to Canada I submitted all the paperwork and received the remittance a short time after. Very seamless and not stressful at all dealing with an insurance company. Thank you Tugo and we will use your services on our next trip!
I was soooo happy with my experience with tugo. While travelling abroad I popped a tire on my rental vehicle which ended up diverting my trip. I submitted claims for the rental car protection and trip interruption. After submitting my claims I got an automatic email saying that they were backed up in claims and I'd hear from someone within 6 weeks. Less than 6 weeks later I received cheques in the mail. Didn't even call, just sent the cheques. It was incredibly smooth, painless, and quick. I've heard a lot of really good things about this company so I had faith but it's awesome that I also had an amazing experience with them. Even though I have travel benefits through work I will always purchase tugo as they are just awesome to deal with!
Personally, my husband and I would like to say “Thank You” to TuGo. I got very sick, with pneumonia, last year( 2022 ) while travelling in the USA and I had to be hospitalized for 6 days. ToGo gave us advice and tried to get me home, to our local hospital, in Ontario, and our hospital was full. Therefore I stayed in the USA hospital and ToGo covered all expenses.
There was no mix ups and no big issues with receipts etc.
Thank you ToGo for your compassion.
