Purchased (two months prior to travel)…

Purchased (two months prior to travel) a competitive "looking" hotel stay at Nomade, Tulum, Mexico through the Trivago site. The charge went through and booking confirmed. 3 Weeks prior to my trip I received a cancellation notice from the property Nomade Hotel in Tulum for my booking. Not initiated by me. Nomade stated that I would be downgraded to a "tent" from a Garden suite that was paid for unless I paid $400 more for another type of room to avoid being assigned a "tent". I notified Trivago, and they tried to load the issue on Nomade despite their having taken the initial booking, and took the funds. They did nothing to retrieve the funds or maintain the original booking. Offered a credit on their platform. I will never use Trivago again. Not trustworthy. Not likely to go to Nomade in Tulum, either. Trust is so foundational to a business and both these complains have lost mine.

This website ruined our day!

My friend and I reserved a hotel in Venice,Italy ,for two nights, through Trivago.

After reservation process done ,we found out , the hotel was not the same as what we had seen and checked in the website.
Trivago referred us to the other link that gave us the hotel with the same name but completely different one.

So we had to cancel the hotel but hotel has charged us for 180 Euro as a cancellation fee.

The hotel we were going to book was 4star hotel, and the one that we were referred to ,by this website and booked ,had the same name but was a guest house (that could be booked for less than $50/night (based on guest reviews I found in trip adviser later!)) not 4star hotel !

That was not what we supposed to book! It was like buying some product and receiving something else!
We trusted the websites but the information and pictures they provided was different and we have been charged for that!
