Friendly, great location in Edinburgh
The staff and the location were superb in the centre of the city, great sleep every night. Basic hotel but a good base.
Stayed 1 night in Southampton Central…
Stayed 1 night in Southampton Central before catching an early ferry to the IOW. Standard simple booking process online with all the usual options to add on meals/early check-in etc. Our room was directly aligned at street level meaning everyone who walked passed could see into the room & having the window open the noise level rose, especially at 4am when the buses all lined up to start their rounds!! The breakfast very tasty & some higher management seemed to be present in the morning so that all went smoothly. The car park...if you drive anything other than a mini you won't fit! Its a tiny space with around 10 spaces under the hotel located at the back & the alley does not feel safe at night.
Also stayed in the Slough branch & upgraded to one of their Plus rooms located on the top floor with extra features. Considering we were told it had been recently been refurbished it could have fooled us! The room already had chips on the doors & furniture and the coffee maker was mouldy inside - not worth the upgrade. Most staff were very pleasant i did feel particularly sorry for the Slough staff as they were severely understaffed & the receptionist was also being waitress/partial cook & handling all guests queries.
Be careful
Arrived at Aldgate east on Saturday 27th June at 3.20 bearing in mind you can’t check in till 3pm to be told one of our rooms was not available (family room) as had bed bugs! They had no other rooms available! They said they could send part of the group to a different hotel but didn’t know where or how long it would take to find somewhere! We had a restaurant reservation at 3.45! Didn’t make this! Eventually we asked to see the manager as felt this was not acceptable! We’d booked together and wanted to be together! Eventually they found 2 other rooms which meant 1 of our party had to sleep on their own! But at least we had somewhere to stay! On finding our room which was on the 4th floor getting out of the lift the heat just hit you! Our room was so hot! 40degrees! Can’t open windows and 1 fan circulating hot air! Absolutely unbearable! I asked for another fan but never materialized! The water in the bathroom had no cold water just very hot! They were told of this too but nothing done! We arrived back at around 12 midnight and had drinks from the bar 2 of the guests stayed late in bar buying drinks but at one time drinks were ordered and paid for but guy behind bar later said they hadn’t been paid for! He was particularly rood and aggressive! What he neglected to say was the original payment hadn’t gone through for whatever reason and just accused them of not paying! If he had said straight away the payment hadn’t gone through there would not of been an issue! All in all a very disappointing stay! We weren’t the only people to not have a room when checking in and they were before us! They also had booked a family room and travelled from Newcastle!! Dreadful experience!
Stratford London Travel lodge Saturday…
Stratford London Travel lodge Saturday 27 June 2026.. please may I start by saying the staff were 5 star plus, especially Carol in the restaurant and Aliani on the reception. However, they are let down by an old tired and extremely hot hotel. No sleep and we paid nearly 750 for one night for 2 rooms - take that concert. Boiled alive in the rooms , no sleep and felt sick. The restaurant was as hot. Just terrible.
Unsatisfactory - Boston in Lincs
My husband stayed at the Boston Lincs lodge on 18/6
Couldn’t get booked in because the receptionist was on her mobile phone and having waited several minutes fir her to complete her call he went and sat in the car gir 25 minutes because there was no where in reception to sit . When he returned she was rude and defensive saying it was a work call! Then she booked him in, out of spite it would seem, in to an assistance room despite him having no obvious disabilities. The room was unsuitable . He won’t be returning
Greenwich High Road - no aircon
Stayed at the Greenwich High Road hotel, great location and nice enough bar/restaurant area but avoid at all costs if the weather is over 20 degrees. The only aircon is ground floor, nothing in the rooms at all and the higher up you go the hotter it gets. We were 4th floor with a barely opening window & 2 pathetic fans, our room hit nearly 30 degrees so sleep was impossible! Massively unpleasant and it ruined an otherwise lovely weekend! Will never return, will stick to premier inn from now on, lesson learned.
Travelodge New Brighton Wallasey
Travelodge, New Brighton, Wallaesy, We didnt even last an hour before looking for a Premier Inn, rooms so small it felt like a prison cell, no airflow, which during a heatwave where it is atleast 10 degrees warmer than outside and you can barely crack the window is just not on in this day and age, tiny TV and bed, ive stayed in bad travelodges before but this was truly awful, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, the extra few quid to stay anywhere else is more than worth it, you've been warned.
Poor customer service
Poor customer service ! Staff definitely needs more training to assist customers and not to waist time !
Not allow customers.car To be stolen
Not allow customers to see CCTV when your car has been stolen from their car park, this is the Travelodge Central Burton on Trent they are probably operated by car thieves.
Very poor customer service and…
Very poor customer service and deliberate premium rate numbers to deter you. I booked and they could easily have changed the date. After numerous calls and emails I got a partial resolution but no compensation for all the cost and time. Don't book with this unprofessional chain!! Avoid at all costs
Bradford South is the absolute pits
Bradford South is the absolute pits. Dirty. Broken lift. Unclean rooms. Didn’t take my rubbish. Didn’t clean the room. No free WiFi. Staff not helpful. They don't even look up when you walk in. Breakfast is very poor. Don't stay here, it's not even a one star hotel. It's not even a hotel.
Travel lodge Portsmouth Angels - Gillian and Lea
We stayed at the travel lodge in portsmouth as an overnight stop before catching a ferry to France. Our journey was a long one, all the way down from Yorkshire, so we arrived tired and ready for a rest. We have stayed at this Travel Lodge before and new the room we wanted was quiet. The two ladies on reception - Gillian and Lea - were outstanding!!! both very helpful in getting sorted both with our room and sending us around to the Pub next door for a well earned drink and food. Both Gillian and Lea made our journey a well worth trip with their greeting at reception.. I do hope to meet these two wonderful ladies again at our next trip to France. Thank you !!!

This was one of the worst stays I0ve ever had. A homeless man approached me in the staff toilets and the whole place had a strong smell of drugs. On top of that, the staff tried to force their way into my room, which made me feel extremely unsafe! AVOID.
Travellodge Manor House London
Travellodge Manor House London. Hotel is racist . Management and staff should be investigated and face consequences. Never will spend my money there !
Do not recommend
I did not realise that this company allows a US based company to manage bookings for it. This caused me to be charged about a third more and also not to receive a VAT invoice. I am VAT registered so this is a loss of 20%. When I asked to cancel the booking they refused.
Poor customer service and in breach of HMRC VAT regulations.
Stayed at a Travel Lodge never again
Stayed at a Travel Lodge - 28C outside and no air con in room. An old filthy, dusty fan was in the room which made absolutely no difference to the heat in the room. Requested towels etc to be changed - one large towel was left and two hand towels - all were dirty, the 2nd bath towel had been taken away. Beds are not made and tea, coffee, milk not replenished. I reported all to the Reception clerk who only apologised. I would never stay in a Travel Lodge again.
Dump
Dump, mis-managed. Had complaint and no management on site and when I asked to speak to someone on the phone, I was put through to the assistant manager and he told me he couldn't hear me on the phone and disconnected me......when the receptionist phoned him back he then told me he was "in the middle of something ' and too busy!! Noone talk to now until 7am tomorrow. Stay away if you want a decent hotel
Blade wielding cav
I have had one or two nice stays at travel lodge
But in may 2026 I did think being threatened with a knife was going a bit far on top of poor food, no service and non existent security.
Perhaps put staff through public relations courses, catering services and anger management before charging people to be abused.
