You get what you pay for. Since it's one of the cheapest plans you can get, you should expect problems.
I run a record label on this platform, over 50 artists I released with using TooLost.
The worst mistakes they make and I will probably switch to another distributor is that they make a lot of mapping mistakes. You upload a track with an artist (you put their link there), then they upload it on another account. This is really a frustating thing because, as a record label, you work months for albums/compilations, you upload the music 1 month prior, and on the releae day you see that your track(s) had been put wrong.
Another thing, they sometimes send wrong metadata to DSP's , you put one genre in the upload process, you see another genre in album section on Apple Music. This might cut all your editorial opportunities.
Also, the support system is really poor, you mostly receive automated copy-paste messages as you might see one under this review. Nothing really helpful or on-point.
It seems like there is a BAD COMMUNICATION BETWEEN DEPARTMENTS. Example: I asked support how can I put a profile as "primary artist" on a conpilation. They asked me to tell this in the release notes on the compilation. On the release day, I see "various artists". This means that they don't even read the release notes sometimes.
Otherwise, taking in consideration the plan price that is very low, I think this should be expected.
There also good parts such as reports, detailed analytics, no delays on payments and more.
I think that TooLost might be a company of hard working 20 employees working with thousands of artists and it's hard for them. But they should either get more personal or cut the number of artists they work with to make the services better. You are just treated just like another drip of water in the ocean, not like an artist or a label.
I took my time to write this big review especially for labels that might consider collaborating with TooLost, and also for TooLost team so they can find where to improve.
In the end, I wish them good luck with this company, as I might not continue collaborating with them.

Never allows releases these days and just takes your money for nothing. For no service, no customer support, just generic bot answers and no refund options. This is a pure scam of a company. They used to be good but I guess they're cutting costs and it's really showing. It's going downhill from here for sure.

I am grateful but irritated. Sometime the processing just simply takes too long, I would rather them charge a royalty fee per pay out to gain more revenue to support larger staff, or to train AIs to improve the process instead of $2.99 a month. I am sure almost all artists would rather pay 3% in commission off sales then $2.99 and it taking weeks.

Their payouts are super slow and they block releases

Though i am not active, but this is the best one i have ever tried

Consistent delays in song delivery ruin the efforts in the release's promo. TooLost doesn't see anything wrong with not keeping the delivery times. Resubmitting the release takes 8 days, and support replies in a week. For TooLost replying "sorry to hear, contact us..." - I did: 120850. Musicians deserve quality service or their money back.

this company is honestly terrible. I've used their service for years now, and I've never NOT had an issue. If your release doesn't get you stuck in a "needs docs" loop, you can bet that it doesn't link properly to facebook, soundcloud, or youtube. customer service is basically non-existent 90% of the time, as others have said they can take weeks to respond. I'm fully convinced that any positive reviews on here are their own staff or developers.
I've run a few small labels, and regularly communicate with other labels who use toolost, and I've had one release stuck in limbo now for months (which seems to be common). no samples, no AI, no copyrighted anything, all original. I've sent everything you can think of to use as proof of ownership, and they will not accept anything. you almost always get bot responses, and they'll bait you into contacting them through their socials, to just reply with the same bot responses they give you in the app. Takedowns sometimes resolve in 3 days, other times months! there is no consistency and professionalism with this company. And last but not least, if you reach out to support on a streaming service and they inform you to contact your distributor, you can bet everything that toolost will either never respond, cooperate, or they will stick you in another loop of bot messages.
IF ANYONE reads these reviews you should be able to see that either the positive reviews are bought and paid for, or there is staff self-reviewing their own service. I've met hundreds of people who use toolost and none of them have good experiences.
and I bet they're going to respond to this message with their copy pasted "we're sorry" message. good luck to anyone who still decides to use this service.

Customer support non existent. After an initial period of tracks being approved for release all subsequent then 'required documentation' to further the process and with support being very poor more and more tracks remained in limbo. I have subsequently released with Distrokid without any issue. Luckily. I went with the monthly plan and was able to cancel after a few months. I have given them an extra star for the fact that those released will remain online indefinitely.

You get what you pay for. A low fee for a disgustingly low effort service, no communication and unexplainable delays. Would NEVER recommend this to anyone.
EDIT: and don't write me to open a support ticket, those stay un-answered for weeks!! You're a joke!

Very good! Earnings are reported a bit later than on other distributors but everything is super smooth and I never had issues.

I uploaded my release to Too Lost well in advance with correct metadata, ISRCs, and everything required, but when release week arrived it failed to deliver to major platforms, wasn’t sent to several stores I had linked ahead of time, and ended up mapped to the wrong YouTube channel instead of my verified one. The track also didn’t attach to the proper artist profiles the way every standard distributor handles features, which immediately caused confusion with my collaborators and damaged the rollout. I opened a support ticket right away and followed up repeatedly for nearly two weeks, sent proof of registrations, submitted delivery logs (that they provided me with), and even reached out through Instagram and LinkedIn. After all of that, I received only one generic response that never addressed the actual issues, was asked for proof that I really worked with one of the industry artists and then total silence. No update, no timeline, no transparency, no correction, and no acknowledgment that the delivery failed. I put a lot of effort into preparing this release, and what should have been straightforward turned into the worst distribution experience I’ve ever had.
Do better

Honestly the best when it comes to distribution. They are extremely affordable, they have a team that actually cares to help to their best ability, and they offer tools that other distributors don’t. Too Lost is light years ahead of the others and I never had a bad experience with them. Definitely always recommend them to friends and other artists.

I'm very happy about some things and unhappy about others. We shall see how it goes over time but I don't plan on leaving yet..

6 months I have waited for a simple takedown of my music. I left because there is zero support when needed and zero in the way of royalties. They lock you out your account and stop corresponding. Crooks.

TooLost is crap. All they've been doing lately is brag about all their business acquisitions and how they are growing. Meanwhile their already crappy customer 'service' is even worse, with bot answers, if they reply at all. But what's worse is they constantly need documentation for EVERYTHING now, even music previously uploaded and APPROVED on their platform now re-uploaded and suddenly you need to prove you own it. Save your money - this is a no for me now, and I will try to migrate to another distributor before ending my subscription.
And - as is clearly visible below - instead of actually helping their customers or offer quicker service they spend their time trolling review pages with copy/paste bot replies to try to stop their OWN bleeding.

Great opportunity for smaller artists - their app is easy to use, straight forward and has great analytics tracking.
We really like TOOLOST

Overall the company is headed In the right direction, as a growing business they e dealt with the growing pains that everyone else does just a bit harder because it's a very public and reliant platform. Almost all of my initial issues have been squashed and everything's been smooth sailing last few releases. I do wonder about royalty payouts being less than others but I have seen no physical evidence only the claim. Overall I believe toolost will come out to be the top indie distributor just takes time. And with a very young and driver staff I think the future of the company is strong. So this is my distributor, I plan on making music forever not a few drops and stop, growing artist, growing company.
