Toast is user friendly for the restaurant owner and customer
Toast has made the restaurant experience faster and easier. The reporting and back office are easy to navigate. Making changes is quick. Customers like the Toast system.
Extremely Disappointed
Extremely Disappointed, Persistent Billing After Cancellation and Poor Customer Service
As a small business owner, I was drawn to Toast for its sleek interface and promise of all-in-one restaurant operations. Unfortunately, my experience has been the exact opposite of what was advertised, marked by poor communication, operational breakdowns, and repeated billing issues even after service cancellation.
After weeks of back-and-forth with various team members and multiple confirmations that my account was canceled, I continue to be charged via ACH. Despite a direct conversation with a senior executive who acknowledged these failures and assured me it would be resolved, the charges persist, leaving me with no choice but to chase down a refund each time.
This is more than just a technical glitch, it reflects a serious lack of internal communication and accountability. Navigating support has been a frustrating maze, and there is no consistent point of contact or ownership when something goes wrong.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has cost me time, money, and trust. I sincerely hope Toast takes this feedback seriously and improves their post-cancellation processes and customer support. Until then, I cannot recommend this platform to other restaurateurs.
This company will nickel and dime you…
This company will nickel and dime you right our of business. THESE pos model lags even behind Square. When your working on Toast try not to fart cause they'll charge you for that as well.
Usually pretty good
Usually pretty good, just probably should make it ask whether you want delivered or picked up before you order instead of automatically having it on pickup.

Communicated the power box needed for specific machine and was sent a link to purchase. Paid express shipping and they shipped wrong power box. Manager called to get replaced with correct and toast said we have to pay for shipping even though it was their mistake. Bad customer service!

This company is on top of everything you need in the restaurant industry. Top to bottom. Customer service, user friendly operations. You would be crazy not to explore the options they give you.
RUN!! DO NOT USE TOAST?!!
RUN!!! Over expensive!!! No follow through!!! Horrible!!! Seriously, run!!! I went a year without service while being charged. I’ve experienced not getting paid for referrals going on a year and a half.
Toast is horrible and I am done with…
Toast is horrible and I am done with any company that deals with them. I used to enjoy getting deliveries from Poke Poke downtown, but I refuse to work with them or anyone any other company who uses Toast because they are forced to throw you under the bus when toast makes mistakes. Which is almost always. Buggy websites and false addresses make me believe they are easy to hack or just scammers. They will tell you to resolve issues with their personal database through their companies "powered by toast," but they are the ones with the broken website that keeps saving the wrong address and cannot allow you to change it. Nothing will get done, and the same problem reoccurs with them and the companies who use them. Boycotting shitty or purely scam-like companies who have 0 customer service are the only way in modern times to attempt to rid the world of parasite monopolies like this.
They steal from you all the time
They steal from you all the time. If it’s not them miss handling your deposits they are adding hidden processing fees. I used them for 3 years until they jammed up over $15k in deposits for several weeks and couldn’t give any explanation other than “network error”
Toast is the absolute worst!!
Toast sucks!!! When you try to make a res for the same day it automatically kicks it to the next day. My friend says “that’s bullshit”.
Terrible service from Toast
Terrible service from Toast! I opened a case with them 4 weeks ago and to date no one has taken action on the case. I called several times and even escalated the case to a manager but still no movement. They set up our paycard deductions incorrectly and no one sees, the urgency there to fix the issue. Deeply disappointed! And ready to find another service.
Toast POS sabotaged my restaurant launch
I trusted Toast POS with my restaurant launch. That trust cost me everything.
When their team mishandled my system configuration, it wiped out my pricing, menus, and visibility across every major delivery platform — Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub — all of it. I was left with blank listings, $0 prices, and no way for customers to even find me.
I spent days patching together workarounds Toast never provided — just to survive. Meanwhile, their support was a ghost town. No follow-up. No accountability. No resolution.
I lost sales. I lost customers. I lost valuable launch momentum. I had to explain to people who wanted to order from me that Toast’s failure made that impossible.
Their “make-good” was laughable: a few vague credits and deflections.
Toast wasn’t just unhelpful. They were irresponsible — and damaging to a small business trying to get on its feet.
If you’re a restaurant owner thinking of using Toast: don’t.
Not unless you’re okay with risking your livelihood on a company that goes silent when it matters most.
Zero customer service and will not make…
Zero customer service and will not make things right if there is an issue with your order. They put more pressure on restaurants especially when they mess up. Yikes...
