They don't reply to emails or requests for samples. It's like they don't exist. If this is the start, I imagine the aftermath is the same as the other negative reviews. I'm glad I saw these reviews.

Poor customer service

You world almost think this company is trying to run themselves into the ground!
I spoke to a lovely guy David whom was very helpful and was able to help me out, this was then interacted by another colleague female whom then canceled the order because it didn’t agree with her, not helpful at all and would advise to go elsewhere, as can’t imagine after service would be great either.
Over and out and tile mountain was more than helpful

MISLEADING IMAGES ON WEBSITE

I ordered sample tile of Orchard pearl brick tile to check the colour following the advice on the website. Happy with the sample which was a lovely white/ivory/pearl colour and looked just like the images on the website, I asked my builder to go ahead and order the tiles for my bathroom. These have now been fitted and to my horror the finished tiling bears absolutely no resemblance to the sample or the images on the website. The tiles are varying shades of grey not ivory pearl and look awful against my brown wood flooring, the finished effect is terrible and I absolutely hate it. I've had to pay out another £2k to have these tiles removed, the walls re-boarded and replaced with something else. The company are refusing to refund me so leave me no option but to pursue them via trading standards and legal action. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Purchased tiles

Purchased tiles. 4 arrived damaged. Asked to return them..i had to pay 10 pounds to return the tiles. They then took off the price of the damaged tiles. They refunded me 22 pounds from 48 but I had to pay 10 return them.Absolute joke.

Never order from these jokers

Never order from these jokers! Order TCK102609. They don’t even have stock, tiles are coming direct from Ca Pieta. Charged £50 for express delivery, they have still not arrived! Blaming DPD. Ca Pieta are more helpful. Tile.co.uk staff don’t take responsibility for their mistakes and seemed to think it’s ok to not deliver. Update: They refunded the delivery charge, however, still no tiles!

Deny customers Statutory & Consumer Rights for Refund for Arrived Damaged Very Large Heavy Tiles

Where are Hull Trading Standards?
It appears that they have to be contacted through free helpline Consumer Direct or similar.
This company persistently denies cistomers' Statutory & Legal Rights under the Consumer Laws and has T&C that don't comply with these laws either.
Such as::
--Threaten to charge "restocking fee(s) if the order is cancelled or returned which is not allowed in UK
--Only give 48 hours to check for damages and supply photos - the Consumer Laws give 30 days to claim a refund for damage, while for 6 months the retailer gets 1 chance at repair or replacement before refund can be claimed if it doesn't work.
--Try to charge some customers substantial amount for return of damaged goods even though the Consumer Rights Act and Consumer Contract Regulations are clear that retailers must pay for retun of arrived damaged goods particularly large/heavy/bulky goods that the customer can't move

--Unreasonably demand that large heavy broken ceramic tiles are packed on a pallet but fail to say how this would be possible for safety reasons (broken glass sharp edges )or without them falling off (they arrived with totally inadequate packaging in flimsy cardboard boxes with big open bits and many coming apart and covered in a bit of cling film with no padding or protection and held up by plastic strapping that requires commercial plastic strapping machine to do.If they leave them on the public pavement it will be considered fly tipping which can incur substantial fines.
--They have the utter cheek to state:"If goods are damaged due to inadequate packaging,we may need to adjust the refund accordingly."Their packaging was SO INADEQUATE that the tiles arrived already damaged (mostly the corners, edges and middle )and there is no law that says the customer has to spend money on extra packging for DAMAGED ON ARRIVAL tiles that they should have provided in the first place to prevent the damage occurring (unless they sent them damaged - old dried in water damage to boxes, some broken bits wet during long dry period.)
--Whole order was cancelled within 48 hours due to the amount of damages spotted shortly after delivery
but they have not refunded the money after several months - Consumer Laws require full refund within reasonable timescale.
--The damaged order has been available for collection for 3 months now but they have not arranged collection and contnually come up with more Unreasonable Demands on the customer and excuses. They probably think that if they avoid collecting them tey don't have to refund but that is not the case.
Slow proceedings to recover the payment progressing but it has caused huge amount of stress, delays and inconvenience and now don't have tiles for bathroom.(They offered replacement of damaged tiles but said that "they were on different batch" which means that the colour may not match exactly and due to the tinadequate packaging the risk of it happening again was deemed too high and their unfair legally non-compliant T&Cs too worrying.)
They waste lots of time making up "rules" which are not legall enforceable and making wrong misleading statements about customers legal rights.)
So this experience along with the similar problems in all their negative reviews, suggests that when buying from this company,if something is wrong,it may result in months of stress and having to battle long hard legal processes to recover your money while they continually come up with illegal excuses for not refunding or collecting the damged goods. NB that many of their higher star reviews appear to be for ordering small samples sent by Royal Mail - the larger or full orders seem to be more where their inadequate packaging, damages, poor customer service and legally non-compliant Unfair T&Cs cause problems with getting a refund.
The design of the tiles is lovely but not much good if they are not received in good condition and dealing with them is a nightmare.

Order TCK101209 placed on 14th…

Order TCK101209 placed on 14th September had still not arrived today on the 23rd. Terrible experience and atrocious customer service. Really disappointing service and not risking ordering from here again.

Waste of time and money, materials were ordered well in advance of work being scheduled, now losing money as a result of not being able to install and having to re-book the installer as it’s not his fault his unable to complete the job to schedule.

Avoid tile.co.uk and order from a larger supplier, or risk the order never arriving.

Bad Customer Service

Contacted customer services and have not had a response to this day. Bad service, ordered tiles and straight away they went on sale - enquired about a refund of the difference. Delivery is very expensive too, best to go local tile shops which I’ve found to be cheaper.

Poor delivery service

Poor delivery service, event when you’ve paid £45 for delivery!!!

Ordered tiles from here following a recommendation from a friend. Gives you the option to select a delivery date which I did. My wife is currently heavily pregnant, so took the day off to accept delivery. Also had a tile fitter arranged to come that day / following day to fit them. Received an email and text to say delivery would be with a 2hour window. Nothing arrived and after checking the tracking for delivery, it said the items were still at the depot. Called up and spoke to Luke who was helpful and said he’d call me back. Didnt hear anything after nearly 2 hours, so called back. Was told that the delivery firm said they would call me (had no missed calls), Luke again said he’d follow up and call me back. He did about 10-15mins later with bad news that the delivery wouldn't arrive that day. So had to book another day off and now cant get the tiler for 4-6 weeks. Understand the high delivery cost, tiles, etc are heavy, so whilst £45 is high, I get why. However don’t offer to deliver on specific dates when you cant honour it, and if you do and something goes wrong, delivery cost should be reimbursed (at the cost of the delivery company who have let you down).

So have had to use two days annual leave, now cant get the work done for a while - left a bitter taste and unlikely to use you again, Shame.

Hi Matthew, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your delivery did not arrive on your chosen day and apologise for the inconvenience caused. We do advise on our delivery page to not book in any installers until the goods arrive and have been checked. This is due to a variety of reasons. We do on occasion get damages on deliveries therefore installation cannot go ahead until replacements arrive. Also deliveries themselves can be delayed due to multiple reason such as broken down vehicles, traffic problems and also delays on previous deliveries. We do state that delivery times are given as a guideline. Here is how it is explained on our website under the deliveries section:

'We strongly advise that you do not book any installers until your goods have arrived and have been checked.

Delivery times are given as a guideline. The Company will not under any circumstances entertain any financial demands from the customer for late or incorrect delivery. We always recommend that you never book a tiler or other workmen until the goods have been delivered and inspected.

We are not liable for any knock on costs, consequential loss or compensation in any circumstances.'

Again we do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Ordered the Luna grey brick tiles from…

Ordered the Luna grey brick tiles from the website, as the images they have used are exactly tile I wanted. They arrived and the next day I started the installation. After a section I noticed that they just didn’t look right. Much much darker than the website images. Upon closer inspection it looks like the images used on their website are for the Luna white tile. Really really disappointing. Everyone I have shown the images to agree that they are in no way the same colour tile. The company are maintaining that the tiles sent are the correct ones, but a quick glance at the images show the shocking misrepresentation of their website images. BUYER BEWARE, avoid this company at all costs. I wish I could include images to show just how deceitful their images are. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

Hi, thank you for your review. We can see you placed an order for the Luna Grey tile and emailed us regarding a concern that the tiles were darker than the images you saw on our website. We asked you confirm the box label to make sure we had sent the correct tile and you confirmed it was Luna Grey. We appreciate that after having the tiles arrive you thought they were darker than our images. We make every effort to make the photos on the website as true to the colour in real life. But due to every single computer, phone and device having different display settings it sometimes can look an exact match on one PC and on another it can be slightly lighter or darker. This is why we clearly state on each page of a tile product page 'All images are for illustrative purposes only. The view fist request a FREE sample'. This is because as well as each screen display being different, a persons room setting can make a tile look lighter or darker depending on the natural room light. Sadly we can see you did not order a free sample which would have prevented this issue from occurring.

Kind Regards.

Not great customer service…

Ordered a small amount of tiles for a fire place.

Ended up spending more on delivery than the cost of the tiles.

Tiles arrived and several of them had chips out of them. They also seemed to have some form of adhesive on the back suggesting they had been installed somewhere before. Nothing in the advertisement suggested these were returned tiles - I would have expected them to be new and of high quality.

When flagged to Customer Services, the response was that the tiles could have been sent back from other customers but they would replace the tiles. At this point the tiles had already been fitted.

Would have been far better to offer some form of refund or credit on the account.

Unlikely to use this company again unfortunately.

Hi,

Thanks you for your review.

Delivery costs are based on a customers postcode and weight of the order.

Apologies for the chipped tiles, sometimes this does happen in transit due to tiles being delicate. We did offer to replace any damaged tiles straight away however you did reply and state you had used them as cuts so didn't need them to be replaced.

In relation to the back of the tiles we can see from your photo that this is not adhesive. The white marks within the clay is chalk from the manufacturing process. It is flat and within the clay and completely normal. Adhesive would be 2-3mm thick and be un-even to the back of the tile.

We do accept returns from customers who have tiles left over, but we never accept tiles back that have been fitted and show any adhesive on the back.

Products not as advertised

Tile description online was incorrect. Tiles were far inferior to products advertised.
I complained ... the online description was changed and the company hid behind 'there is a tolerance, we stand by the description'. Yes, the description you changed it to AFTER I pointed out the product weakness/differences.
Non-existent customer service. Avoid this company.

Hi,

Thank you for your review.

You placed an order for a 60x60cm porcelain tile which was 8mm thick. We did incorrectly have the tile on the website as being 9.5mm thick and 4 in a box, which yes once we realised we changed our description to make it correct. The factory had changed the thickness and we were not made aware. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

60x60cm porcelain tiles can have a varied thickness depending on the factory who have made them. The thickness of a tile does not make it stronger or weaker. Internal tiles usually range from 8-10mm thick and external ones can up to as much as 20-30mm thick due to them being outside. The tiles you bought were perfectly suitable for use internally.

In terms of the tile being in tolerance this is correct. Tiles are stated as certain sizes (both in terms of thickness and actual size) but there is a 3mm tolerance each way which is acceptable. This is because batches can vary in the production process.

We did offer you a returns service if you did not like them however you did chose to keep them.

Amazing company!

Brilliant company! I ordered 37 sqm of tiles from here was a little sceptical at first as they were an online company but they exceeded my expectations. When emailing with a query they were quick to respond with all the answers. Delivery was very quick with picking my own delivery date. On delivery a few tiles where broken which is to be expected with this material I called the customer service team they were very polite and apologetic and replacing the few broken tiles with express next day delivery. Tiles were exactly as pictured and high quality. Would highly recommend their service and staff are unbelievably helpful and professional. Fantastic company to use very happy customer here.
