Thieves

This pretend bank will bring your company to its knees. They block 100% of payments for 'FCA' checks. I don't know how they get away with it. The amount of power banks have now by hiding behind AML and FCA checks to bully small businesses. Why is it they're so suspicious? I'd love to know the percentage of payments held for review. They seem to think every single account they have is involved in money laundering. Well if that's the case, then you don't have a viable business model and should wrap up! Luckily I managed to get my money out through card purchases. There's more than one way to skin a cat. I had a lucky escape, you may not be so lucky.

I was surprised at how quick and easy it was to open the account, now I know why. You're better off waiting for a proper high street bank rather than using these jokers. They're criminals

Great at opening accounts no good for business

Great at opening accounts. Very bad at managing the accounts. They have decided to freeze my account after a reasonably substantial amount was transferred into my business account (23K). Have asked for invoices for non-related transactions that they were happy to handle previously. I will close the account as soon as the freeze is lifted. All their CS is interested in is opening new accounts. For a serious business I would strongly advise you to avoid. If you want a simple to use account for small amounts maybe ok, for a business no good whatsoever. How can you run a business when the bank freezes the account at a whim?

AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS

AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS - NOTHING MORE THAN THIEVES AND LIARS.

This “bank” (I use the term loosely) somehow have managed to transfer £3680 to a completely different bank account than the one I entered the details for... and conveniently, another Tide account.

Customer services is non existent - they keep claiming it will be sorted within a certain time frame which comes and goes.

I have reported the incident to the financial ombudsman and Action Fraud and await their assistance.

I urge you to avoid dealing with this company - the reviews speak for themselves.

My experience with them has been stressful and upsetting, and only made worse by trying to deal with their ineffective staff.

I can only assume at the moment that it is nothing short of theft on their behalf. Other reviews seem to detail similar experiences.

Difficulty closing account

I tried closing my account with Tide. The only way you can communicate is through the app. After a delay they asked me to bring my account balance to zero. I did this and confirmed on the chat that I wanted the account closed. They didn't action the request and I continued to get charged account fees. While it's easy to get a business account with these guys it's extremely difficult to get any customer service from them.

The app logs you out before you are able to send them! Customer support says they are working on it! They know it's a problem. Suggests trying to invoice quicker!

I opened a business account with tide

I opened a business account with tide, it all went very smooth, I later deposited money into it for the purchase of my property, but when the property was put on hold, I decided to send the back the account which it was transfered from, now that's where the problem is, the transaction was put on hold, and i was messaged that they are doing checks, well that's good too, but what check that will be carried out for days, without asking me for passport or driving license, moreover the money isn't going to another new account, but to the account it came from originally.

Now my frustration is, hadn't been am at the verge of exchanging contract and to make a payment to the seller or solicitor will this be my experience whereby delaying the process?.

I cant wait to withdraw all my money and close this account, its best for to pay high Street banks 7 pounds per month and do my business transaction peacefully than this stress.

Terrible, the app is useless, they will do anything to keep your money and not allow you to close your account. The app is designed to block you, I have been tryi9ng to get several thousand pounds back for months which is sitting in my account. Ombudsman next

Tide are thief’s - do not open account with them unless you want to lose your hard earned money

Currently we are still without the £150k that they have basically stolen from my friends company for over a year with weekly bull crap excuses of when it will be fixed and sorted (which is never).

All under ombudsman and the police action fraud team. Also the police are aware and potentially looking at taking them for theft.

Do not touch with a barge pole - they are just thief’s and you will lose time and money to them.

How they can call themselves a bank is beyond me.

Take your money out they will probably go under at some point as they do it to everyone it seems.

NOT GIVING MY MONEY BACK.....!!!

Started using this bank and had to transfer some money. Amount didn't reach the account and got stuck somewhere in between. Now its been more than 2 weeks and the transfer amount is still pending. Contacted their customer service which they agreed that payment hasn't gone thru but they won't pay back into my account either. They say they're investigating this and it can take up to a month or even more to resolve the issue.
Don't understand WHAT they're investigating by holding my money and not returning it back to me.....!!!

Untrustworthy and Deceitful

I reviewed Tide as my experience as a customer was VERY POOR for an online retail business as they cant accept payments from Klarna, the LARGEST afterpay provider in the UK. Tide dont have a BIC or IBAN. Tides response was to post that they accepted that was a huge weakness and might fix it down the track. Their follow up in the background has been to approach trust pilot to have my original review taken down as i am not a customer. I bl&*dy well am a customer. EVEN THOUGH THEY ACCEPT THE CRITICISM is genuine. WHAT ELSE have people reviewed Tide as poor for which they have had taken down. Very deceitful culture and another reason not to trust this very poor excuse for an online bank.

Same experience as the previous reviewer

Just like the previous reviewer, Tide allowed me to spend ages completing their application forms and submitting my personal documentation, only then to tell me that they were narrowly focused, and therefore were not for professional business to business consultancies, like mine.

Tide needs to be more honest, upfront.

If you value the privacy and confidentiality of your documents (passport etc) my advice is avoid this "bank".

Offered me an account

Offered me an account, then after going through everything said they didn’t offer bank accounts for my type of business? Money is money, I obviously wrongly assumed... You lean something new every day.

Avoid Tide Bank - freezing accounts

I have been locked out of my account since the 18th February - I have today had to instruct solicitors, open a complaint with banking ombudsman, also done today, contact the FCA who have so many comlplaints they have asked me to call back on Monday - tide work through Clear bank and this by the way is a 4 figure sum of money

Incapably slow

This organisation is incapably slow in dealing with my funds deposited from my own bank account that I set the account up with in the first place.

I need to pay a foreign exchange provider by 11am today using these funds or the rate will change and I will lose money and Tide are preventing business form working.

Ultra slow responses and they cannot be spoken to on the phone. Has been going on for 3 days.

I sent details of my personal account and the same message came back twice asking for the invoices to prove where the funds came from (my own bank account)!

This bank can be nothing but a poor stopgap before the proper banks start giving out accounts again.
