Went for the new years eve part due to the advertisement of casino, resolution wall, balloon drop at midnight, sparklers, fireworks screening. But on arrival quickly noticed only 2 casino tables for a sold out event and they were always so busy, also was no sparklers or balloon drop at midnight, the resolution wall you couldn't put anything on it, it was just a plain board and the fireworks were apparently screened in the smaller room and not where the party actually was so we missed them. All in all slightly disappointed with being led by false pretence at booking.

The staff and hospitality was outstanding
Everyone was made to feel welcome
I would like to mention the outside terrace area which overlooks the countryside especially with a beautiful view of the White horse

I have never been to an establishment where the staff are so rude and ignorant. An hour wait for food only to be cold on arrival. Nobody acknowledges you on arrival and just give you looks as if they don't want you there. Very uncomfortable atmosphere and staff who don't want to be there. Definitely don't waste your time.

Super venue and great food. Me and my family have just returned back from the view and just to say what a wonderful free event. They have just relaunched Sunday roasts and ours were delicious, really good value and great service.

We booked a buffet for 45 for after our mother's funeral. The room looked so appropriate with black tablecloths and chair covers, even black serviettes. The buffet was so varied and plentiful and beautifully presented. The staff were efficient and friendly and the bar was open. Our vegan guests were catered for. Thoroughly recommend.

Complete time wasters. Organised to book me 3 weeks in advance for an event. Was messaging and emailing constantly to the point I had to organise the event for them. Wanted a live dj to work with a saxophone player for 90 minutes leaving this 2 days before to try coordinate. Originally booked without then suddenly they think they know it all and a dj and sax player sounds good 😂 then less than 48hr before payment and set Jordan and his accountant Beth message me to say the set is cancelled, completely avoid any payment. Avoid this business at all costs.
Usually have sets every weekend and they wasted my availability

Don’t bother coming here, staff all lazy and rude, place is a dump and food that’s bad. The end.

Decided to go out for lunch for the first time in ages and chose The View.Not a mistake we will be making again.£14-50 for a small overcooked piece of frozen fish and some chips,all served up by miserable looking monosyllabic staff.Absolute disgrace for somewhere promoting itself as one of Westburys top venues.
Do not waste your money here.

I want to be honest and reflect what actually happen on 1st July 2023. The venue was used for a Wedding Party. I’ll start with good points - Venue is superb, scenery stunning. Hall, rooms and toilets very clean. Bar staff fine although I think a couple were being trained and experienced a couple of mis understandings. Drinks reasonably priced and very good gin section. However that’s where all good points end. I’m afraid the food was diabolical. The chef and his presentation team were not good. The starter Prawn cocktail - prawns not even cooked nor the poo line taken out. Many guests sent them back and opted for soup, but not even a roll provided. Main - the chicken was pink in places and again sent back, likewise many people in the Wedding Party also did likewise. The sweet was cheese cake. Half portion served at best, but at least edible. I felt sorry for the serving staff, having to take the feedback, but I’m not to sure what happened behind the scenes. I get them impression they just weren’t up to job and must have arrive late to start preparing or just left things to late. Such a pity, as a Wedding is a one off and I personally would have been very let down and cheated if it were my function. I do hope ‘the View’ accept responsibility for the actions I’ve highlighted and take those responsible to task and apologise profusely to the Wedding Party and their guests.

Held a family 90th birthday private party and everything was spot on. Beautifully decorated room overlooking garden which was perfect for children and dogs ! Friendly and helpful staff had our afternoon tea wonderfully organised. Thoroughly recommend.

If I could give zero starts that would be more realistic. Had work’s Christmas function there on Friday 9th of December. Shocking place. Food is cold, no veg and inedible. Room was freezing cold. Certainly not with the £50 pp.

Had our Christmas party here and being completely honest majority of us were very disappointed.

The pros of the evening were the bar staff who were very friendly, and timely with the orders you were never queuing for long. the casino (who is hired in) was great and entertaining. And the band definitely got everyone up dancing. Toilets were also clean and nicely decorated venue.

The cons, the food and timing was awful. Starters served at 8:15 which were OK. An hour later at 9:15 arrives the main, which not only was a small portion but mine was stone cold, even the gravy. I think the puddings came out around 10:30? By this time most people were up and out the way. The timings I guess for those drinking would not of really mattered but for us who were not we were starving.
Another con - too many people booked in which probably contributed to the slow service and cold food as it’s too much for a venue to handle, you had to squeeze your way past tightly packed tables.
Final con - it was freezing inside the venue even a waitress still had her scarf on serving us.

I probably wouldn’t return at the price we paid.

Venue - looked nice/well decorated
although was very cold. No heating on despite the freezing weather. Tables crammed too close together so you couldn’t even walk past.
Entertainment - fun casino was good. Music was ok although way too loud, could not even hear each other speak. Very small dance floor due to the number of tables squeezed in.
Food - was told to arrive for 7pm for food to be served 7.30pm. Starter did not come until after 8pm. Main course came an hour after this - very small portion for £50 per head price. 3 pieces of thinly sliced turkey, 2 potatoes, one slice of carrot, 3 sprouts and a thin slice of stuffing. Food was cold. Best part was the dessert but this didn’t come out until well after the entertainment started at 10.20.

Overall I will not be coming back here again. Clearly a lack of catering experience for this many people.

We went for a Xmas party. 30 of us attended for £50 a head. We were told to be there for 7 to sit down for 730. The food didn't come out till 820. The starter was OK but nothing special. The main course came out cold and such a small portion. I had a couple of small slices of turkey, 2 roast potatoes, a carrot, 3 Brussels sprouts and a slither of stuffing, the pudding came out after 10pm which was the hottest thing all night. I will say the bar staff were amazing. The band was great and the casino was entertaining, however £50 per head was way too much. I feel the owner is putting on events too big for what they can manage. When we complained the food was cold, it took another 20 mins for them to bring it back out after shoving it in the microwave. I will never eat there again and it is a shame as it could be so much better with the right owner

First time at the view impressed with surroundings great dance floor and disco packed night with ABBA tribute band cheap beer and snacks for such an impressive venue definitely try Friday nights when I'm told usually have a band😊

Shocking organisation of fireworks night. £30 for a family of 5 and then a extra £5 charge parking which was given at 2 days notice. Unable to park so had to give up and go home and no refund available. Awful business

I had arranged a small party for my wife’s 60th, (only 16 ), the staff were great so helpful and there was more than enough quality food for all.
Would definitely recommend.

My family and friends organised a recent baby shower here. We had the afternoon tea. The sandwiches were dry as if been left out and the cakes were all warm. We were given two pots of tea between 10 of us and had to ask for top up. No alternative to tea was given. It was a very busy day with another event on and a staff member told us there were only four of them trying to run the event, roast dinners as well as the bar. My daughters were not keen on the afternoon tea so I asked to see the roast dinner menu which we were given. The girls chose roast chicken to which we were told we couldn’t order as we were not booked in for that - I wasn’t told this when handed the menu.
Such a beautiful venue but we all felt very in the way and a nuisance; never once were we asked if everything was okay. Such a shame.
