really disappointed with the case

really disappointed with the case.
It is not horrible but the leather feels very cheap. Really not like in the photos. It is very thin and smooth, basically feels like plastic and is super slippery. The case itself feels ok build but the inside is only hard plastic si it will definitely scratch the bach if the phone.
I switched back to my basic pixel rubber case immediately. I didn't find a link to ask for a return either.
Would not recommend

Hi Antoine,

Fair feedback — and we’ll be direct.

If the leather feels like plastic and the grip isn’t there, then the product didn’t match what you expected from the photos. That’s on us to align better between visuals and real feel.

A few points to clarify:

Leather finish: this model uses a thin coated leather layer to keep the case slim and lightweight. The trade-off is exactly what you felt — smoother surface, less texture, less grip. If you’re expecting a thicker, more textured leather, this version won’t deliver that.
Grip / slipperiness: agreed. The smooth finish looks clean but reduces grip. We’re already working on more textured leather variants to fix that.
Inner material: it’s a rigid structure for shape and durability, but it should not scratch the phone in normal use. If you’re concerned about that, we can check your unit specifically.
Return access: if you couldn’t find a way to request a return, that’s a problem on our side — it should be easy and visible.

Now instead of leaving you stuck with something you don’t use:

Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order number — we’ll:

Help you switch to a better-grip / different material option
Or process a return/refund solution that makes sense

Quick context:
We’re building this brand to give Pixel users more premium options, but that only works if the product in hand matches the expectation. In your case, it didn’t.

We’ll take care of it.

And if we resolve this properly for you, we’d appreciate you updating your experience afterward.

Okay but not more

It fits comfortably in the hand, but it bothers the inner Monk that the cameras and light aren't centered in the cutouts.

Reply from Thepixelcase

Hi Nico,

That “inner Monk” point is valid — once you notice alignment, you can’t unsee it.

The cutouts are designed with a bit of tolerance to avoid pressure on the camera module (especially across different production batches), but they should still look visually centered. If it feels off, then the balance between function and precision isn’t right.

This can come from:

Slight variation in the unit
Or a design tolerance that’s too loose

Either way, we take that seriously — details like this matter more than people think.

If you’re open to it, send us a quick photo at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order number — we’ll check if it’s a defective unit and replace it with a better-aligned one.

Quick context:
We build for Pixel users with a focus on clean design, so alignment and symmetry are not things we ignore — but clearly, we can tighten this further.

If we fix this for you, we’d appreciate you updating your experience after.

This is a great case option for Pixels

I like the case a lot. It was affordable but feels good quality and has a magnetic and stand built-in feature which work really well. It has been dropped a few times as well and no issues. I have a Pixel 9a pro.

Hi Emily,

That’s exactly the balance we aim for — solid features, real protection, without overcomplicating it.

Good to hear the magnetic + stand combo is actually delivering in daily use, and even better that it’s already handled a few drops with no issues. That’s where a case proves itself.

Also nice callout on value — we’re pushing to keep Pixel users getting good design + functionality without overpaying, since this space is still underserved compared to Apple.

Quick note on the Pixel 9a Pro — glad it’s working well on your setup. Magnetic alignment can vary depending on usage, so it’s great to hear it’s stable in your case.

If anything comes up over time, or you think we can push it further, send it to contact@thepixelcase.com that feedback goes straight into future versions.

And if it keeps performing like this, we’d really appreciate you sharing an updated review down the line.

Compares favorably with design of iPhone wallet cases

This case is comparable in featues to Casebus wallet case that i purchased for an iPhone Pro. I am evaluating transfer of my main phone line to a Pixel Pro. The detachable wallet and RFID shielding are not features of the Casebus case. The use of synthetic leather will make the case more durable in my experince.

Thepixelcase.com left me wishing for more

This company does do some things well. It's advertising, the fluidity and functionality of the website itself, the ordering and checkout process, even the shipping was efficient. The only problem was the product itself. The case I purchased was meant for a Pixel 10 Pro XL. After careful exploration of the phone case and it's features, unfortunately I was left feeling disappointed. The kickstand / case ring felt solid if I aligned the phone horizontally. However when I tried to use the kickstand with the phone in a vertical alignment, often the weight of the phone itself would cause the kickstand to collapse slowly, making it less than ideal for using the phone with a vertical alignment on a surface. The privacy / protection screen for the camera is nice and feels solid. Already I've accidentally dropped the phone several times and the case has done a good job protecting the screen and the phone itself. I would say the case made the phone feel a little bulky, but a Pixel XL is bulky by it's own design. It's clear to me however, that their engineering department has some work to do. I feel like if they could iron out the kinks with the flimsy stand, it would be a far superior case. I don't feel like going through the hassle of a refund / return process, and who knows, maybe I'll give this company another chance once I know they've improved the stability of their products. I really wanted to give thepixelcase.com 5 stars, as my personal experience felt like it was excellence from a transactional perspective. But from a practical / use case perspective the product just wasn't as solid as I had hoped.

Hi Tim,

This is the kind of review that actually helps us improve clear, balanced, and based on real use.

You’re right on the key point:

Vertical stability on the stand is the hardest scenario, especially on larger devices like the Pixel 10 Pro XL. The weight distribution is different vs horizontal use, and if the hinge tension isn’t strong enough, it slowly collapses — exactly what you described.

That’s not a “user preference” issue — it’s an engineering tolerance we need to tighten. We’re already testing stronger hinge resistance and improved angle locking for the next versions.

Glad to hear the protection side held up (drops + camera cover doing its job). That part is non-negotiable for us.

On bulk — also fair. XL devices force a trade-off:

More structure = more protection
Less bulk = less rigidity

We aim for balance, but your feedback shows we still need to refine that.

What stands out in your review is this:
the experience was excellent, but the product didn’t fully match it.
That’s exactly the gap we’re focused on closing.

If you’re open to it, reach out to us at contact@thepixelcase.com
— we can:

Let you know when the improved stand version is available
Or help you switch to a model that performs better for your use case

Quick context:
We’re building specifically for Pixel users, and Fold/XL devices require much tighter engineering than standard phones. Feedback like yours directly shapes the next iterations.

And when we do fix this properly, we’d appreciate you giving us another shot and updating your experience.

Overall these cases are just "ok."

Overall these cases are just "ok."

First, the positives:
- they're very lightweight. They seem to add almost no weight to the phone.
- the colors are nice and are nearly an exact match for Pixel phones. The blue is very close to my Moonstone Pixel 10 Pro, and the green is nearly the same as my wife's Pixel 9. This is the main reason I purchased these. Otherwise, I already have two cases with this style kickstand/grip.
- it's a nice looking case overall that at a glance looks like a phone with no case on it, due to the shiny "chrome" look edges.

Now for the negatives:
- the case does not fit snug. The long edges bow outward slightly instead of staying flush against the phone sides. This is the same for both phones/cases.
- it's very lightweight (yes, that was a positive a minute ago), but that's apparently because the case is somewhat flimsy. See the negative bullet point above.
- the jury is still out on the camera lens cover. I generally don't like camera lens protectors, and I never use them willingly. Two things to note... First, the glass over the camera is significantly more durable and scratch/crack resistant than the glass on the front screen of the phone. Second, any time you add a layer of glass to a camera lens, it's just another layer that can affect the light captured by the camera and it will most certainly affect your photos, even if so slight that you don't even notice. But you also risk getting lens flare in certain conditions. The camera lens cover on these cases are built in, and it doesn't really look like you can remove it without destroying the case.

Now, regarding the Pixel 9, all of the above applies to that case as well, but also the fact that it is nearly impossible to charge the phone wirelessly without removing the case. The Pixel 9 does not have Magsafe/PixelSnap/Qi2 capability, yet this company makes a magnetic case specifically for the Pixel 9. Since it's called a "Pixel" case, the presumption is that the company is well aware of the limitations of the Pixel 9. Where this case fails is the placement of the magnetic ring. You see, a Pixel 9 CAN be charged on a magnetic Qi charger, but the placement of the charge coils in the phone are not in the same position as Qi2/PixelSnap/Magsafe phones. So while technically you might be able to charge a Pixel 9 with this case on, you really have to play around with it trying to get the best positioning to get it to charge (without the charge indicator going on/off/on/off/on/off, etc). Most times it's not worth the hassle and we just end up plugging it in.
They really shouldn't have even bothered with making cases for Pixels prior to the 10 series. My Pixel 10 Pro charges just fine on a Belkin magnetic Qi2 charger with this case on. But not the Pixel 9. I only bought it because I was excited at the prospect of being able to use this type of case on a Pixel 9 and still charge wirelessly.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend these cases. You can find nearly identical styles of cases on Amazon that are better quality for the same or less money, and you don't have to wait weeks for it to come from China.

By the way, there is no indication that these might come from China until it's been shipped.

I'm not sure why companies like this and OhSnap! don't sell their product on Amazon.
It's one thing if it's a mom and pop operation, but any company that keeps an inventory in a warehouse in China can certainly sell on Amazon.

One other thing, I noticed when I submitted this review for posting that it said it was an "unprompted review."
It is not. This review is here because I clicked a link in an email from the seller asking me to review the Pixel Case. I never go to Trust Pilot on my own, I generally just use Google reviews.

Hi Mark,

This is one of the most useful reviews we’ve received — you actually broke down the product like a real user, not just a quick reaction. We appreciate that.

We’ll address this directly:

Fit & structure (bowing edges / flimsy feel)
That shouldn’t happen. A case can be lightweight without losing structural integrity. If both units show the same behavior, that points to a design or batch tolerance issue — and that’s something we’re already reviewing internally.

Lightweight vs durability trade-off
You’re right — we pushed hard on reducing weight to keep the “bare phone” feel. But if that compromises rigidity or long-term hold, then the balance is wrong. That’s a product decision we’re actively refining.

Camera lens cover
Also fair. Built-in lens covers are always a trade-off: convenience vs optical purity. We include them for protection, but we know some users (like you) would prefer a version without it. That’s something we’re considering offering as separate variants.

Pixel 9 + magnetic charging issue (important point)
You’re 100% correct here — and this is where most brands get it wrong.

Pixel 9 is not natively aligned for Qi2/MagSafe, so even if you add a magnetic ring, alignment becomes inconsistent. It can work, but it’s not reliable — exactly what you described (on/off charging, repositioning, etc).

Your conclusion is fair:
Magnetic cases make much more sense on Pixel 10 series and newer, where alignment is actually optimized.

We’re already adjusting how we present this, because “technically compatible” is not the same as “works smoothly in real life.”

Shipping origin & transparency
We operate with both US and China warehouses, and orders are shipped based on stock + color availability. But you’re right — this should be clearer before purchase, not discovered after shipping.

“Better options on Amazon”
Fair comparison. The difference we’re aiming for is Pixel-specific design + niche focus, but if the execution doesn’t clearly beat generic alternatives, then we’re not doing enough yet.

Review request note
Also noted — yes, the review was triggered by our email. That label on Trustpilot is their system, not something we control, but your point is valid.

Now, instead of just debating points — let’s fix what we can for you:

Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order number and we’ll:

Look at your units specifically (fit issue especially)
Offer a replacement or alternative model that performs better
Or a solution that makes sense given your experience

Big picture:
You’re not wrong. This is exactly the type of feedback that forces us to improve — especially around fit precision, realistic compatibility (Pixel 9 vs 10), and product positioning.

If we address this properly, we’d appreciate you updating your experience based on how it’s handled.

I would rate this below 1 star...

I would rate this below 1 star if I could.

I received the case about 2 weeks after ordering it and was very excited. Immediately, I realized that this was a mistake. The case was wrapping in a random cardboard scrap and taped to "protect" it in shipping since it was sent it a thin paper envelope that wasn't even padded. Before even removing the case from the cardboard, I could tell that the aluminum was bent and unfixable. I sent an email to the company right away and as of today, almost 3 weeks later, I have still yet to hear back from them.

Do not trust this scam of a company.

Hi Matt,

You’re right to be upset — receiving a bent case out of the package and then getting no response for weeks is not acceptable.

Let’s be clear:

Packaging: a case should never arrive in a condition where it can be bent in transit. If it did, the protection wasn’t sufficient or the unit should never have been shipped. That’s on us.
Product condition on arrival: unusable from day one = automatic replacement or refund. No discussion.
No response for 3 weeks: this is the biggest issue here. If you reached out and got nothing back, we failed on support — simple as that.

Now we fix it properly:

Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
and mention this review + your order number. We’ll prioritize your case immediately and offer:

A replacement (fully checked before shipping)
Or a full refund, depending on what you prefer

No delays, no back-and-forth.

Quick context:
We operate with both US and China warehouses depending on availability, and products are normally packed with protective material — but clearly in your case, the process broke. That’s something we’re actively tightening to prevent.

We’ll take care of this.

And once resolved, we’d appreciate you updating your experience based on how it was handled.

Hi F.S.,

We’ll be direct — this experience isn’t acceptable.

Let’s clarify first, then fix:

Shipping origin: we operate with both US and China warehouses, and orders are shipped based on product availability and variant. That said, if this wasn’t clear before purchase, that’s on us — transparency should be better.
6-week delivery: that’s far beyond our normal window and clearly not acceptable.
Missing / incomplete items (screen protector + camera portion): that’s a fulfillment error, no debate.
Refund handling: if you were left without a proper resolution after all of this, then we failed on support as well.

So instead of going back and forth, let’s fix it properly:

Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order details and mention this review — we’ll escalate this case directly and offer a real resolution:

Full refund
Or complete replacement (correct items, properly checked before shipping)

Quick context:
We’re building this brand to give Pixel users better-designed accessories — but if fulfillment, delivery, and support break down like this, it damages trust. That’s on us to correct.

And if we resolve this the right way, we’d appreciate you updating your experience based on the outcome.

Sells Fraudulent Cases

This company is selling phone cases that do not have the features and capabilities on their products pages. They will claim their cases are "Magsafe" or "Wireless Charging compatible" but are not. When you receive the product and start to use it and notice it does not do what it is claimed to do, they ask you to send the product back to get a refund- the return cost of doing this outweighs the product price itself so it defeats the purpose. They know this, and deliberately obfuscate their return policy to hide their shady business practices. Stay away and do not support this company.

Reply from Thepixelcase

Hi Josue,

We’ll address this directly.

We do not sell fraudulent products — but if your case didn’t deliver the features you expected (MagSafe / wireless charging), then your experience still failed, and that’s what matters.

On compatibility:
Our cases labeled as “MagSafe” or “wireless charging compatible” are designed to work, but performance can vary depending on:

Charger type and power output
Alignment of the coil
The specific phone model

That said — if in your real usage it didn’t work, then it’s not good enough. We take that seriously and investigate those cases.

On returns:
We operate with US and China warehouses, and returns are routed based on where the product shipped from. We understand your point — if return shipping ends up costing more than the product, it creates friction and kills trust. That’s exactly why we’re working on more localized return solutions.

But to be clear — the goal is not to “trap” customers. If something doesn’t work as intended, we’re here to resolve it.

Let’s move from accusation to solution:

Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order details and the issue you experienced. We’ll:

Verify the compatibility issue
Offer a proper resolution (replacement with a working version, alternative model, or refund path that makes sense)

Quick context:
We built The Pixel Case to give Pixel users better options — but that only works if the product and the experience both hold up. If yours didn’t, we fix it.

If we resolve this properly for you, we’d appreciate you updating your experience based on the outcome.

I absolutely love this case

I absolutely love this case. It was my 3rd try for a Pixel 10 pro fold. The first two were not from this company. While they were good cases they were very heavy. This case protects my phone, isn't that heavy, come with a stylus. It isn't magnetic though, so I had to use a regular pop socket. I would buy it again if I needed to.

Hi Pattii,

That’s exactly the balance we aim for — protection without turning the Fold into a brick.

You nailed the main issue with most Fold cases: they overcompensate with weight. We designed this one to stay light, functional, and still protective, so it actually works in daily use. Glad it delivered for you on that third try.

Also great to hear the stylus is getting used — that’s one of those small features that ends up being genuinely useful over time.

On the magnet — correct, this specific model isn’t magnetic by design. We keep some versions lighter and simpler, while others include magnetic functionality depending on the use case. Sounds like the pop socket workaround is doing the job for now.

Quick context:
We build specifically for Pixel (especially Fold) users because most brands don’t optimize for this category — so every version is a trade-off between weight, features, and usability.

If you ever want a magnetic version or try something different, reach out to us at contact@thepixelcase.com
— we can guide you to the right model.

And if it keeps performing like this over time, we’d really appreciate you sharing an updated review down the line.

Solid choice on your third try.

Hi Rick,

If the case affected your signal to the point you had to stop using it, that’s a serious issue — not something we take lightly.

We haven’t seen consistent reports of signal interference across our cases, so if this happened on your unit, we need to understand it properly. In rare cases, certain materials or alignment can impact signal (cellular, WiFi, or GPS), but it should never degrade performance to that level.

Right now, we’re missing key details that help us investigate:

Your exact phone model
What signal was affected (cellular, WiFi, GPS)
Whether the issue was immediate after installing the case

Please email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with this info — we’ll look into it directly (including checking for a defective unit or batch issue) and make sure you’re taken care of with a replacement or refund.

Quick context:
We design these cases specifically for Pixel devices, and performance should never be compromised for design. If your experience didn’t match that, we need to fix it — not dismiss it.

Not what I ordered.

When I ordered the case I thought I was getting the magnetic case, a 2 piece case that has a screen protector in the front piece and the back is held on magnetically after the phone is put inside the front piece.......this case is ok, but I'm looking for ruggedness cause I'm a truck driver and I am in the elements and the dust gets in the case and I have to take it apart 2 times a week to clean it out.......I am still looking for that magnetic case as it seals the phone from the elements as per what I have seen on the site......

Hi Adrian,

Got it — this isn’t really about “quality,” it’s about expectation mismatch, and that’s on us to make clearer.

What you’re describing (full magnetic sealed 2-piece case with front protector) is a very specific type of rugged case. The one you received is more of a daily-use protective case, not a fully sealed design — so in your environment (dust, constant exposure), it won’t perform the way you need.

And having to open it twice a week to clean it — that defeats the purpose for you.

Let’s fix this properly:

Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order number — we’ll:

Help you switch to a fully enclosed / rugged option if available for your model
Or offer a solution/refund if we don’t have the exact spec you need

Also noted on your point about the site — if it gave the impression you were getting a sealed magnetic case, then that’s something we need to clarify better to avoid this kind of mismatch.

Quick context:
We build for Pixel users to give more choice, but that also means being precise about use cases — slim vs rugged vs sealed. In your case, you clearly need rugged + dust protection, not minimalist.

We’ll help you get the right setup.

And if we do, we’d appreciate you updating your experience based on the outcome.

Perfect fit, and a great "case"

I baught the case that's just an aluminum frame that enclosed the edge of the phone and clasps closed on the corner. So far, it's been 2 weeks and has been problem free and looks fantastic. The light blue color is a bit more grey than I thought it would be, but hasn't shown any scratches.

I read comments on the Facebook ad that the latch comes open easily and often, but mine is rock solid. Perhaps it would loosen if I took the case on and off repeatedly, but I haven't, and it doesn't budge.

My only gripe is that I ordered it the day I ordered my Pixel 10 Pro and paid for expedited shipping with the hope that it would arrive within a couple of days of when my phone did. I should have assumed that it would ship from China, but I didn't, and that was my mistake. I delayed setting up my new phone for 3 or 4 days because I didn't want to use it without a case, but at day 3 of waiting, I saw that the case was still sitting in the departing terminal in China. I didn't want to wait anymore, so I bought a cheap case from Amazon that arrived the next day. I used that while I waited for this case, which took about another week.

While I love the case, I regret paying for the expidited shipping and still having to pay for another case as a placeholder.

I contacted them & told them, they then finally issued a refund but to an expired debit card so I haven't got the money back yet + paid for postage to China for a phone case which was falsely advertised... They are now not reply to my emails... Disgusting scam of a company

*UPDATE*

After they replied here on trustpilot I sent email as requested... No reply after 1 week & still no reply to my original email sent weeks ago, what a load of rubbish & terrible customer service. Still out of pocket.

*AVOID AT ALL COSTS*

Hi C,

We understand why you’re upset — this experience is clearly not acceptable.

Let’s break this down properly:

Wireless charging: all our compatible cases are tested, but performance can vary depending on charger type/alignment. That said, if it didn’t work for you, then it failed its purpose — and that’s on us to resolve, not argue.
Return to China: we operate with both US and China warehouses, and returns are routed based on product origin. But we agree — if the return cost and customs issues end up being worse than the product itself, that’s a broken experience. We’re actively working on more localized return solutions to fix this.
Refund to expired card: this is likely a payment processor limitation (refunds automatically go back to the original payment method), but you should still receive the funds via your bank, even if the card is expired. If you haven’t, then this needs immediate follow-up.
Lack of response: not acceptable. If you reached out and didn’t get a reply, that’s a failure on our side.

Here’s what matters now — fixing it:

Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order details and mention this review. We’ll:

Verify the refund status and make sure you actually receive your money
If needed, issue an alternative solution so you’re not left out of pocket (including your return cost)

Quick context:
We’re building this brand to give Pixel users better-designed accessories — but if the after-sales experience breaks like this, it undermines everything.

We’ll take care of this properly.

Disappointed

When I received the case I truly enjoyed the sleek style the magnetic ring the material did not feel cheap, but now about two weeks later my phone slide s out and I'm worried my phone will break.

Hi Joseph,

That’s not acceptable — if your phone starts sliding out after two weeks, the case has already failed its job.

Glad you liked the design and feel at first, but retention is non-negotiable. What you’re describing usually points to either:

A tolerance issue on that unit
Or material loosening faster than it should

Both are things we take seriously.

Let’s fix this properly:
Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order number and a quick photo/video — we’ll send you a replacement that actually holds tight or offer a better alternative that fits securely.

Quick context:
We build specifically for Pixel users, but durability over time is the standard. If it doesn’t stay firm, it’s not good enough.

We’ll take care of it.

And if the replacement performs the way it should have from day one, we’d appreciate you updating your experience.

The ring will not hold the phone up in…

The ring will not hold the phone up in the upright position. phone is to heavy for that. the camera is not protected enough. The magnet is not adequate for a magsafe charger. Not happy, wasted money.

Hi Rick,

We’ll be straight — if the stand can’t hold the phone, the magnet feels weak, and the camera doesn’t feel protected, then the product isn’t doing its job for you.

On the ring/stand:
Fold devices are heavier, and stability depends on angle + surface. That said, it should still hold in normal use. If yours isn’t, that could be a defective unit or a tolerance issue in that batch.

On the magnet:
We design it to balance hold and compatibility (too strong can cause heat/misalignment on some chargers), but if it doesn’t feel secure on your setup, then it’s not good enough.

On camera protection:
Our designs aim to keep things slim while protecting the lens area, but if it doesn’t give you confidence, that’s a problem we need to address in future revisions.

Let’s fix your situation, not just explain it:
Email us at contact@thepixelcase.com
with your order number and a quick video/photo if possible — we’ll either send you a better-performing replacement or offer another solution that actually works for you.

Quick context:
We build specifically for Pixel users, especially Fold devices, where most brands don’t optimize properly — but that only matters if performance matches expectations. In your case, it didn’t.

We’ll take care of it.

I never received my order because it…

My order was cancelled immediately due to the current war in my neck of the woods (Israel). I sure hope the war ends soon and that I will then have the privilege of sampling Thepixelcase's lovely selection of Pixel products.

Hi Jennifer,

We understand how that felt — and we should have communicated it more clearly.

Your order wasn’t cancelled because of you personally, but due to current shipping restrictions to certain Middle East regions, including Israel, related to the ongoing situation. At the moment, our logistics partners simply don’t guarantee safe or reliable delivery there.

Rather than take your payment and risk delays, loss, or failed delivery, we cancel these orders immediately — but we agree this should have been explained upfront, not after the fact.

We’re actively monitoring the situation and will reopen shipping to the region as soon as it becomes stable and reliable again.

If you have any questions or want to check availability later, you can always reach us at contact@thepixelcase.com
.

Thank you for your understanding.
