Zero accountability
I used to think this was a good company.
Now I would recommend the following steps to protect yourself when things go wrong:
1. Always reconfirm with The Paint Shed that what you have ordered is what you will receive.
Instead of the matching undercoat and top coat I ordered to cover the walls in two coats, The Paint Shed delivered a Dark Tones undercoat, which would require a total three coats. Not only did this increase labour and paint costs unnecessarily by £120, it meant my decorator and I did not meet the tight deadline in a project four hours' drive away. So pretty serious for me. As per their response below, they refuse to acknowledge there is an issue, despite what The Consumer Rights Act stipulates: that transparency and the ability to make an informed decision is your legal right. Irrespective of what they or Farrow & Ball might recommend, they must supply what the customer orders.
2. Always video record opening both the package and the paint in case of damage.
The second F&B paint was well packaged but paint was seeping out; we believed it to be a return as it was not full and had been slightly watered down. I have produced multiple genuine photos and a video to support my case, but to no avail; the company maintains I have sent photos of used paint when the tapes clearly show it was still sealed shut. Though if they think the unopened paint tin looks used, I would suggest that is exactly the point!
I have nothing to gain from misleading here: the time and work spent trying to put this right far exceed any value I might gain from a redelivery of the faulty order.
Their response below is disingenuous.
The company knows very well I cannot return the tins because my decorator had already applied the undercoat before opening the emulsion and realising the colours were completely different. We had to make the best of a bad job. They have not offered any fair resolution for me to accept or decline, and to suggest otherwise is naughty.
They repeatedly defend supplying a product I had not ordered and did not want, which suggests that, contrary to trading laws, this is acceptable company policy. At the very least their website needs to be amended to adhere to the law.
A company shows its true colours when things go wrong. If you are going to order their products, just double check and cover yourself at every stage.

To confirm again, the undercoat you ordered is available in four specific shades only. Customers can either select their preferred option from the four shades or provide the intended topcoat colour, in which case we supply the manufacturer‑recommended shade. In this instance, the correct undercoat was supplied in line with the colour you advised.
That said, as a gesture of goodwill, our team offered to accept a return if the product was not suitable. We are sorry that you have chosen not to proceed with this option.
We are also sorry to learn of your concerns regarding possible transit damage and concerns about the product quality. While all orders are packaged carefully, occasional leaks can occur due to the nature of this type of product. We have requested further details and supporting images to help us properly assess this; however, the images received so far do not reflect the issues you described. As advised, we remain happy to review this fully upon receipt of suitable evidence.
Given that a return and full refund had already been offered, we are disappointed by your comments suggesting otherwise. We would like to reassure you that we have not restricted your rights in any way and remain open to resolving the matter—either through return of the goods or by reviewing additional information so that we can investigate your concerns thoroughly and fairly.
