Zero stars in fact minus stars

Zero stars in fact minus stars! I am disgusted at the way I have been treated by the staff here specifically the "Clinical Director" as per another review on 22 March 2022 by C Brown, much the same appalling behaviour! Steer well clear of this place if you want to be heard and treated with respect. I have now found another local physiotherapy company with the help of my health insurance company who are streets ahead of this awful company in terms of professionalism and politeness.

Professional and effective service

I received great treatment from Garrett at The Medical in Westbury on Trym for a knee problem. Unlike the experience I had with a previous physio, he really understood my issue and worked with me to agree a path forward. He gave me a manageable set of exercises which he built on with every treatment session. I now feel in a much less pain and able to resume more regular exercise.

Rip off

The individual practitioners may be well intentioned. But be aware of the financial approach. I went to Westbury on trym Bristol. They insist on taking your card details. Then they take the payment for the sessions you book even if they are weeks ahead. At least twice they have taken payments for services I did not receive without my knowledge or authority. Only found out when I checked my bank statement. Also they offer a cheap initial session to draw you in and the follow up sessions are then extortionate eg £85 got 15 minutes with a chiropractor.

Katie Hooper massage

Katie Hooper is fantastic at her job. The massages she has given me have been the best I have ever experienced as she is so thorough, knowledgeable and kind and wants to help the patient to recover.

Patient care gone downhill.

No patient care at all, and they do not value loyalty one bit despite me having stayed with them for over ten years!
Seems all they seem interested in is money. Place has gone downhill since they were acquired by a private and larger corporate entity in 2015. Their tone quickly changed when I disagreed with their pricing structure and made a complaint about my treatment.

Can not recommend more highly!

I have been receiving treatment since November. The changes in this time that have been made to my body and overall wellbeing are phenomenal. It's a team effort (including me). If you want to really see results that last you have to embrace the process and follow the guidance that you are being given. I am so excited for the coming months and progressing further in my journey. I have had a lot of issues that needed fixing. If they can fix me the team can fix anyone! Jason and Justin are worth their weight in gold. Recieving treatment here was the best decision I ever made.

TheMedical... Making me better :)

I have been using TheMedical for years now. It started off when I was after a sports massage (found they had a location near my office and offered staff there 10% off) so used to go for a monthly massage to keep things in check.

I have always had unsteady ankles since I was a child and very tight calves (linked to above and lots of cycling). Booked in for initial physio as I was fed up of twisting my ankle every day.
Worked with Michael, jack and most of the team in the Bristol temple quay bench and my ankle is now right as rain. Have also been seeing them for neck shoulder issues (linked to the cycling) - and making great progress on that too.
The staff are friendly, polite, helpful and very knowledgeable.

I have had outstanding experience with…

I have had outstanding experience with The Medical. The quality of service, professionalism and throughly accurate diagnosis and treatment met my expectations. Claudia was very engaging, polite and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend the company and her personally to remedy any issues you may have.

Horrified by the unprofessionalism of…

Horrified by the unprofessionalism of this business - specifically the Cheltenham Branch and the Clinical Director. I have been allocated this practice by my insurer so it wasn't a choice. Absolutely no issues with the professionalism of the physio treating me altho' there was a conversation that I thought lacked a little courtesy. No issue with that, we all have difficult moments. However after being referred there I have had (I am told by the referring company) 4 appointments. I have six to take in total. Due to a number of injuries over many years as a consequence of my osteoporosis I am not a - "give you a list of exercises and the job will be done" type of patient. I have been told a number of times that my case needed to be closed down due to instructions from the referring business this after only 4 months. I have been given no timescales by my Physio or the Practice or indeed anyone else involved. After providing some feedback over their process and my particular difficulties I have been accused of attempting to "con" them for additional treatments and a gait analysis FOC. This accusation came this afternoon from the Practice Manager/Clinical Director. He then had the audacity to put the phone down on me. This man clearly did not go to any type of business school and lacks the good manners and maturity for someone in a position to lead in the care and service to people. Naturally given the seriousness of this accusation it will be taken further. Disgusting conduct. Don't use this Practice. Sadly I have to give a star as there is no other option.
