Couldn’t ask for better service!

Going through a full renovation with two small children felt daunting, to put it mildly. What made The Page different was how well they understood that. They matched us with a builder who wasn't just brilliant at the work, but genuinely considerate about having a young family around. He was meticulous about keeping tools and materials out of reach, and honestly the kids loved seeing him every day. That meant the world to me.
Whenever things felt stressful, and there were moments, Thomas was there. Always calm, always responsive, always able to put my mind at rest. It felt like having someone truly in your corner throughout. I couldn't imagine doing it without them. Thank you all!

Happy customer

I had an issue with a contractor and had to let them go. I then turned to The Page who recommended a handful of potential contractors they had selected for my specific situation. One of them in particular stood out, as being well-organised, thorough, reliable and having done good work. I appointed them and had an overall really good experience. Very pleased with the final result, and grateful to The Page for making a strong recommendation that really helped with the flat.

Would not recommend

Overall, my experience with this service was extremely disappointing. My initial call was great, and I felt genuinely listened to.

However, the builder I was recommended abandoned the project after installing tiles incorrectly, despite having agreed to the written instructions. I had to chase compensation due to their mistakes, which was frustrating and time-consuming.

The builder also spoke to me in an aggressive tone, which was intimidating and scary for a woman living alone.

While the platform helped me find replacement builders, for which I am awarding an extra star, they often failed to show up on time due to other commitments, and communication was poor. When I raised my concerns, the platform seemed dismissive, asking whether I expected builders to arrive at a specific time—completely missing the point that I had waited in, sometimes all day, and they simply did not turn up, only being notified late in the afternoon.

There were countless other problems. Waste collectors arrived at 11pm, waking neighbours, and several promises made at the start of the job turned out to be unrealistic in hindsight. My project ended up taking a lot longer than initially quoted. Although the platform reviewed my quote at the outset, they later admitted the original timeline was overly ambitious.

Considering I paid an extra 10–20% commission to use this service, I expected a competent, reliable, and professional experience. The overall experience fell far short of that expectation, and I cannot recommend this platform.

Full Flat Renovation

I was recommended The Page as I was about to buy a property that needed renovating but I didn't have a clue where to start. Thomas ended up talking me through the whole process (I really didn't know what I was getting into!) and provided three different builders to quote. The builder I ended up choosing through The Page was brilliant. The Miculi team were very professional I am delighted with the quality of their work. They came in budget and in time too. They have also come back 5 months later for touch ups which was reassuring. Thank you to The Page for your help and advice- I couldn't have done the process without their help!

Excellent experience with the Page

5 star service throughout from Thomas and the page team. As first time renovators we really appreciated the advice throughout the process, from dissecting the quotes, assistance with where to buy the raw materials from and clarifying any concerns that we had. The Neatis team who did the renovation work were professional and efficient. We are delighted with the end outcome of our bathroom and downstairs loo projects which came in bang on budget. Couldn’t recommend the service more highly to anyone looking for access to quality tradesman, with the bonus of having project expertise on top.

The Page has been our biggest reno win!

As first time renovators, we were so so so pleased with the support from Thomas at the page - we’ve been raving about it. They helped us arrange two quotes, choose the best contractor (shout out to Jay!), arrange a kick off meeting and checked in along the way. We felt supported and much more confident managing a process we’d never done before. And the best part is, it’s no cost for the renovator, so it’s a no brainier. We’ll use them again for phase 2!

Promising first impression, disappointing follow-through

I don’t love having to attach a star rating to this review because everyone’s experience will vary. I can see from the other reviews that many people have been delighted with The Page’s service. I also thought quite carefully about whether to write this at all.

However, two of the deciding factors in my choosing The Page were their glowing reviews and the fact that they are a small company. I assumed that meant they would take more care than some of the larger competitors.

At the beginning I was genuinely very pleased. I had put off starting this renovation for years because I wanted to find the right person. My initial call with Thomas was reassuring. I felt he listened to my concerns and priorities. The process also moved very quickly. Within a week I had gone from no progress at all to having quotes in my inbox, which seemed at the time amazing and I was so happy.

One of the two builders sent to quote was difficult during the quoting process, so I went with the other despite some reservations. Thomas assured me his work was excellent and that he aligned with the requirements I had been very explicit about.

I’ll condense the actual building issues because the specifics aren’t hugely relevant to this review. In short, the builder was extremely difficult and the quality of work was poor. The Page agree with this, and stated they were embarrassed by the quality of the work. Communication was almost nonexistent. Basic questions like when work would be happening were ignored. Work that was supposed to take three weeks dragged on for almost five months, and in the end I’ve had to accept that parts of my house simply aren’t what I asked for and cannot now realistically be fixed, and I have to live with finishings that are worse than when I had previously DIYd them. The experience was incredibly stressful and I cried most days for weeks.

My main issue with The Page is what happened after I selected the builder. The responsive, organised and proactive company I had dealt with during the selection stage essentially disappeared before the work had even begun.
I raised this with Thomas repeatedly. A few days after work started I actually had to call him to ask if he even knew the project had begun, because I hadn’t heard from them at all. They were supposed to set up a three-way communication channel between myself, the builder and The Page at the start of the project. This didn’t happen until three and a half months later, after I refused to continue with the constant “he said / she said” dynamic.

There were also numerous occasions where I was told a site visit would happen and then no one came. Without anyone from The Page seeing the work in person it became impossible to resolve disputes. The final outcome of several issues was essentially that the builder said one thing, I said another, and because no one from The Page had actually attended the site they said there was no way to arbitrate between us.

Regardless of the service I thought I would be getting from The Page, my frustration is simply that Thomas repeatedly said he would do things and then didn’t do them, and would routinely contradict himself. Things like “I’ll do a site visit”, “I’ll speak to the builder tomorrow”, or “I’ll call you at 5pm” routinely didn’t happen. As a result, problems dragged on for months and small issues took far longer to resolve than they should have.

We began trying to resolve the outstanding issues on January 7th and it took until March 16th to close things out. The actual work completed in that time amounted to 4 days of minor jobs. Most of that period was simply waiting for Thomas / The Page to respond. The second guy they sent they promised me was "exceptional" however all my conversations with him centred around how to get work done as quickly as possible (within one day) it became clear that The Page had pressured him to work quickly to retain money for the original builder, which they deny but I cannot find any possible alternative reason for why he was in such a big rush (The Page asked me to pay the original builder the remaining money I hadn’t spent on a days work for the replacement). Short cuts he took have resulted in me having to find my own workman independently to actually resolve issues.

When I originally booked The Page, their marketing included a line to the effect of “Not Just a Referral Service”. I can’t see that wording on their site now. Having been through the process, I’m still unclear what role they see themselves playing during a project. In my case it functioned as a referral service, and unfortunately not a particularly effective one.

I'm genuinely sorry your experience was so stressful and upsetting. No one should spend weeks in tears over a renovation; that's exactly why Henry and I built The Page: so people wouldn't have to go through situations like this.

As we've spoken privately, I won't revisit every detail here. But I do want to acknowledge that when things went wrong, we worked hard to put them right - including an itemised list of remedial works, a site visit we don't typically offer, and ensuring you paid less than the original budget given the issues you'd experienced. We agreed the work wasn't good enough, arranged a replacement, and saw it through to resolution. I mention this not to deflect, but because it matters to us that we continued to do everything we could.

We're a small company. We don't claim to be perfect, but we do try to be honest, take accountability, and stay genuinely invested in the outcome. On this occasion, even with good intentions, that wasn't enough. And we're truly sorry for that.

What an amazing service that took the worry and hassle of finding a builder out of the equation. Bathroom renovation

I recently used The Page for a bathroom renovation and had a fabulous experience. Master suite refurb - fabulous job

We used The Page to help us find a build team to replace our en-suite and redecorate our bedroom. The process was quick and easy to do, and the process of vetting gave a massive amount of comfort that the team would be high quality. We spoke to two pagers, and the picked the one who best fitted our budget and took a proactive approach to the project. They told me the job would be done in 2.5 weeks - I’ve done a lot of renovation work and honestly I didn’t believe them, but 2 weeks and 3 days in, they were done! They’ve done a lovely quality job with very high attention to detail and have come back with out complaint quickly to address the inevitable snags.

Quality finish

Although working within the construction industry, I did not know any appropriately sized contractors to undertake my planned bathroom renovations.
The Page was able to assist, and quickly provided two suitable companies for me to approach. Speaking to both options about the designs and my expectations, both were priced as I had expected and would have been confident to proceed with either.
Having made a selection, the planned works proceeded to programme and cost without upset.
The finishing of the tiling is some of the best I have seen.
Would recommend The Page for anyone wishing to get in touch with suitable, well trusted contractors for any project they may have in mind.

Full marks for The Page

We used The Page for a full home renovation - two bathrooms, kitchen, and all the joinery work. I can't recommend them highly enough.

What really set them apart was the level of support throughout the entire process. From the initial planning right through to the build, we always felt like we had someone in our corner. Thomas was brilliant - could always pick up the phone when we had questions or concerns, which was invaluable during some of the more stressful moments.

What gave me real peace of mind was seeing how well Thomas knew our builder, Marcin. It wasn't just a referral and then radio silence - there was clearly a strong working relationship there. When Thomas spoke about Marcin and the work, you could tell he genuinely knew him and his capabilities. That existing relationship made me feel so much more comfortable throughout the build.

Renovations are never completely stress-free (anyone who tells you otherwise is lying!), but having The Page's support made such a difference. Would absolutely use them again for future projects.

Excellent customer service j

Had initial emergency call out due to faulty boiler. Khuram from K1 heating solution attended very promptly. It appeared we needed a new boiler. Khuram and Omar from K1 heating solution fitted a new boiler 2days after call out. I was extremely happy with their professional and prompt service at a competitive price. I would have no problem with recommending K1 heating solution

A great company to have on side during renos

The Page were fantastic from start to finish. They helped me find a great builder, provided a few different options (which I really valued given the large scope of the work), and stayed in touch throughout to make sure everything was going to plan. It was my first flat purchase and renovating the whole thing felt like a high risk move as I’d been warned of all the pitfalls that come with it but through finding the page, I felt well supported the whole way. So lucky that someone referred them to me!
