Great Marketing, Disappointing Cookies
I came across The Big Krüml through the massive Instagram hype and very persistent advertising — honestly, it was everywhere in my feed. This was actually the first time I ever ordered something because of Instagram ads. The product was available by invitation only due to limited monthly production, and I have to say: the marketing, visuals, and copy are extremely convincing.
The price point feels acceptable, especially for Hamburg standards, so I went in with fairly high expectations.
Unfortunately, the product itself did not live up to the promise.
According to the manufacturer, the cookies should be perfectly fine for up to 5 days after delivery, and even up to 3 months when refrigerated. However, if shipping alone already takes 3–5 days, the cookies arrive far from fresh, even though they are individually vacuum-sealed.
I reheated each cookie in the oven, as described by the seller. Sadly, this did not improve the experience much. The cookies turned out very dry overall, while the inside remained slightly doughy and uneven in texture. Flavor-wise, they were underwhelming and did not justify the hype.
For me, this was not a good cookie experience, and unfortunately not something I would order again.
