J2534 device
I purchased a J2534, I've sent plenty of emails regarding shipping stating the package hasn't even been received by PostNL.

I have just purchased a reversing cam kit for my Volvo XC70 to find that after asking how much it was including delivery to the UK I get a Customs & Excise bill for a further £45.46. This is unacceptable and makes the product too expensive.
When I went back to them they said well you are in the UK you should know and allow for this.
At no time did they mention that I would not receive my item without paying this and then when I told them it was on its way back as I couldn’t pay the fee I was told I would get nothing back until it was received by them at which point they would deduct any costs involved their end etc before returning the balance.
This is scandalous and you should steer well clear of them!

I bought a CFE Plus Wifi in March 2021.
As I own a P3 Volvo, I bought it while still in development software wise (and thus agreed it would take time), solely for the purpose of having new functions activated using the CFE :
- Park Assist Camera video feeds
- DRL as mine is a pre-2013 without DRLs.
- Automatic headlights according to brightness level
The whole buying/shipping experience was smooth and the product worked as intended, in the beginning.
I noticed the DRL/auto headlights functions cancelled indicators, so I obviously had to deactivate it/them.
We were just post Covid, so I understood they had trouble getting cars to troubleshoot these issues.
I sent a ticket with the CFE data to ask for updates on April, 22nd, 2022. Yes, I waited ONE YEAR, I'm not exactly impatient.
Fast forward to today, THREE YEARS after I submitted my ticket. Never got any reply, no update on future development of the product so I guess it was stopped at v5.064 as they deemed it finished, which is not what was promised.
I basically bought a 200 EUR useless dongle (because most Volvo owners alrealdy have a VIDA Dice unit anyway and camera feeds can be activated at dealer for a fee, cheaper than the CFE obviously). The whole point was to get functions which VIDA could not activate as they were market/trim restricted, and that, Swedesolutions perfectly knows.
The product might be useful for P2 owners, but not P3, considering the limitations Swedesolutions did not resolve.
All in all, I would not buy again at swedesolutions essentially for the complete lack of customer relations.
But unfortunately this is a common experience in those "evolutive software" products which are never really finished. I should have known better.
This company is a total scam. They take your money and sent faulty products; which when posted back they refuse to accept then ignore your emails and messages. I’m having to return it personally. I will get my money back!!!
TLDR – Swede Solutions/Kevin Waters sent me a defective CarPlay unit, support was slow and unhelpful, the unit is merely a rebadged AliExpress KSmart unit for double the price (although Swede Solutions reject this claim), ultimately scammed me out of additional money for an advance RMA. Support went radio silent, chasing fraud/section 75 with bank.
Long version:
Purchased the CarPlay retrofit kit for my 2017 S60 in Jan 2024. The unit cost circa £300, plus the 20% import fee of approx. £60. It was immediately obvious they had taken a KSmart brand AliExpress grade Chinese unit and simply painted it gold/put their badge on it. Even the instructions were in Mandarin. Kevin claims SwedeSolutions write their own software for the box, but I can’t find anything to suggest this is true. I have seen other reviews calling this out and Kevin seems to deny the claims. Given all reviews and all support interactions were from Kevin, I can only assume this is a one-man operation.
I got the kit installed and immediately had issues with audio in/out. Support (seemingly just Kevin) was very slow to reply but ultimately deemed this was some undocumented dip switches on the device that were set incorrectly. Quite a condescending reply considering there was no mention of this in the instructions.
From month 1, I had issues with the touchscreen intermittently dropping out. It worked again every time the box was power cycled so this is quite obviously a software issue. Otherwise, the box worked ok.
Around 6 months in, the dropouts were annoying enough that I decided to try a firmware update. This, even as an IT person, was a complex process given there is little to no documentation. The firmware update not only made the touch dropouts significantly worse but also introduced audio dropouts and Bluetooth pairing issues.
At this stage I raised a support ticket to ask for a replacement unit. Kevin did oblige and we agreed to do an advance RMA. This is where the buyer sends a deposit, the seller sends a replacement unit, the buyer sends the defective unit back, the deposit is refunded. The idea is you aren’t stuck without the item in the meantime as you don’t have to send the defective unit back first (This is quite common practice in IT/electronics). In this instance, I sent 100 Euros as a deposit and the replacement box was dispatched.
3 months later, the replacement unit is lost in the post and Kevin has gone radio silent. My last update from him was 2 months ago.
All in, I am down 360 for the box+customs, plus another 85 or so for the deposit (445 total) and I’m left with a CarPlay unit that’s incredibly buggy to the point where I’ve considered taking it out entirely.
Currently disputing the WISE transfer as fraud and have raised a section 75 for the box payment with my bank. I would consider MCOL if they were UK based, but not worth the hassle for an international retailer.
I would avoid buying from SwedeSolutions. You can likely get the same item on AliExpress for half the price and get similar if not better aftercare. If you wanted to spend a little extra to buy from a reputable company with good aftercare, Swedesolutions is not the option you are looking for.
Update: They didn't approve my review on their own website but clearly they cant hide from TrustPilot as they have replied! Calling your customers "an example of what's wrong with society" is certainly an interesting customer service tactic! Im sure that will only aid my Section76 substantially, so thank you for that Mark :) Note that your last email did not give any indication of a time frame for the investigation and you were asked for an update 3 times since then. Absolute joke.

Zij regelen hun verkoop via o.a. Aliexpress.
I bought a CarPlay for my Volvo here. It took a while for my order to be shipped, but I finally received the product. Unfortunately, the included touch screen was broken during installation. Not all functions are equally easy to operate without this touch screen. My request for a new touch screen to be sent to me (against payment, of course) was not answered at all for a long time. No telephone number is listed on the site (also very strange if you sell products to private individuals), only a contact form that can be filled in, which is also not responded to at all. Ordering is no problem of course, but swedesolutions.com has not heard of a decent after sales service. Incidentally, this is a copy ordered by them via Aliexpress, which they themselves resell via their site, of course at a higher price! So my advice is: don't buy this module through them, but save yourself a lot of annoyance and money (!) by ordering directly from China. By the way, the device comes from Kremersino (.com). They arrange their sales via Aliexpress, among others.
Too bad Kevin doesn't respond to my arguments. He's talking about my other negative reviews? Which negative reviews? I only do that if there is a really valid reason for this in my view, such as with swedesolutions.com
I think there is something wrong with Kevin's memory.. Too bad you suddenly forgot my complaint about the product not working after updating.. Do you actually read the so-called contact form on your own site? Apparently not otherwise you would have seen my complaint.. The fact that you can't even contact them by phone says enough.
By the way, you're the only one I'm giving a negative review here...
UPDATE:
Apparently Kevin can't take criticism since he informed me in an email that I'm on a so-called "black list" and can't claim any warranty or support. Here too Kevin goes beyond his book as it is legally required to honor the warranty. Even on products from China.. Just sayin' Kev.
