Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you were happy with the larger candle glasses, but we're sorry to learn that one of the 20cl Double Wall Candle Jars arrived cracked and that the jars had glass or glue residue on the bases.
This certainly isn't the standard we aim to provide. If you haven't already contacted our Customer Care team, please do get in touch with your order details and, if possible, a few photos of the issues. We'll be happy to investigate this with our supplier and work towards a suitable resolution for you.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope to have the opportunity to put things right.

Borax in the UK
Borax is sodium tetraborate Na2B4O7.10H2O. Borax occurs naturally as a soft, white crystalline mineral that dissolves in water to form an alkaline solution. Borax occurs naturally as a soft, white crystalline mineral that dissolves in water to form an alkaline solution. It is widely utilized in glass manufacturing, metallurgy, soldering, and as a natural cleaning and laundry booster.
I bought 1 kg borax powder (not substitute, not boric acid) for an all-in price (tax, p&p)of £9-23 which was the best I could find from "Supplies for Candles."
Mrs. Beeton, in her 1861 Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management/Chapter XLI, recommended adding borax or bicarbonate of soda to correct the acidity of sour milk. Unknown to her was that borax did not kill bovine tuberculosis organisms which can kill babies and infants.
Borax is very hard to get in the UK, I wanted it to protect wood from long-term decay in contact with the ground.

We appreciate you taking the time to share such a detailed and informative review of our borax powder. We are glad to know that you found our product to be exactly what you were looking for, especially considering its specific uses and the challenges of sourcing it in the UK. Your historical context and intended application for wood protection are fascinating. We are pleased our pricing met your expectations.
