I have had many lesson requests from Superprof and they continue to support what I'm doing in my field.

39 pounds just for access to write to…
39 pounds just for access to write to tutors? What a ridiculous business model. You will go bust

Superprof has really helped me to reach…
Superprof has really helped me to reach out to many students and to make my impact on people both children and adult. Superprof is a platform that is real. I think I have lost count on the students I have touched their lives with my classes through Superprof.
AVOID
AVOID - SCAMMERS
update- i have reached out to customer service and Kiara from customer services has said it is "unproductive" to continue conversations.
Superprof feels like a platform that prioritizes squeezing money out of users over actually delivering value. The whole experience gives the impression that they don’t really care whether people find the service useful — because they’ve already made their money through the subscription model.
What’s especially frustrating is how the subscription is introduced. It’s not presented in a transparent, user-first way; instead, it feels buried in the process, making it far too easy to end up paying before you’ve had a fair chance to decide if the platform is right for you.
On top of that, customer service is extremely disappointing. When issues come up, there’s little sense of accountability or effort to reach a fair resolution. Responses feel dismissive, and it doesn’t seem like they genuinely care about resolving customer concerns.
A service like this should be built on trust — helping students connect with tutors in a straightforward, honest way. Instead, it comes across as a system designed to lock users into paying first and dealing with the consequences later.
Overall, a frustrating experience and not something I’d recommend unless they seriously improve both their transparency and customer support.

Flexible and supportive platform
Superprof has been a great platform for me to connect with students who are genuinely interested in learning art and crafts. It’s easy to set up lessons, communicate, and manage sessions. I especially like the flexibility it gives me as a tutor. It has helped me grow my teaching experience and reach more students.
Easy to use and range of options
£39 just to send an email
£39 just to send an email. Had no idea I would be charged at that stage. When I saw how much they'd taken I thought it would be for a lesson. It's not. It's just to use the site. £39!!! And was that for a year? No, they were planning to bill me that every month! Absolute shameless ripoff. I advised the tutor I saw to get off the site because being on it made him look bad

It is an amazing site for both students…
It is an amazing site for both students and teachers! I have found amazing students as well as tutors for my children. I have received good support as a teacher and students get help anytime. I strongly reccommend it above all other websites. Superprof is definetely the best one!.
Great working experience
I’ve been using this platform to teach languages for five years, and I have to say it has been a surprisingly amazing experience. I’ve had the opportunity to teach many students across the UK, and they’ve all been satisfied with the lesson booking process. The platform is very user-friendly and easy to work with, and the customer service team is responsive and helpful. I highly recommend it to new teachers who want to gain experience and make good use of their spare time.
Very easy to use and navigate.
Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off. I paid £39 as a starting fee and I was charged £7 when the tutor refused. No way to contact them on the site, a chat bot thats useless. Stay away folks.

Good reach - poor support and booking system
Good reach for potential students, but the booking system is chaotic and premium support doesn’t resolve technical issues.
I’ve used the platform for several years, and the booking process is so inefficient it’s close to unworkable. Students can’t book multiple lessons at once, which isn’t made clear, so they often submit several requests. Tutors then have to cancel all the proposals except one, then repeat the process over multiple days just to confirm an agreed schedule.
Support are polite, but responses rarely go beyond a generic acknowledgement. This booking issue has existed for years without being fixed, and the same applies to a login problem I’ve experienced for over 12 months.
I’d like to see a more proactive approach to resolving issues, particularly by taking on board feedback from experienced tutors who have delivered over 1,000 hours on the platform.
An overhaul of the booking system and better support replies would turn it from "ok" to "brilliant!"

Few teachers, more expensive than advertised. Waste of time.
Very few teachers available for my selected topic (learn to dance Argentine Tango). Tried 3 - 1 declined. One offered one available slot a week which was not possible for me (and would cost more than advertised). The third also was charging more than advertised and requested a translator for the lessons. The other teachers on the site were hugely expensive - several times what I had been led to believe it would cost. Just a complete waste of time and money. I have deleted my account.

Terrible experience, avoid if you can
The site is terrible - it is so underdeveloped in terms of helping tutors match with learners.
Firstly, the tutors I found all put 'face-to-face or online' (I wanted face-to-face), but then when you contact them they switch to 'I only offer online'. The tutors I contacted have fake response times, they don't read whatever you've written, or answer any questions and change their terms as they go - one from free 'face-to-face' to 'online', then to a telephone call!
Additionally, the site doesn't help match a learner to the tutors' availability, so you could easily be battting dates/times backwards and forwards - with long lag times waiting for a reply.
Others have mentioned the cost - obviously I'm considering this a complete waste of money and am deleting my account so they don't charge me again.

Dishonest company that WILL scam you
I hardly ever write reviews but in this case I had to. Frankly I'm astonished that such companies and practices exist in broad daylight.
Just as lots of people here already say, Superprof routinely takes advantage of people, scamming them into paying before receiving any benefit (and even subscribing them to monthly plans without them knowing!) – and then refuses point blank to refund.
Their business model is to make you think that you are at some preliminary stage looking for a tutor on their platform – whereas in reality as soon as you enter your card details, it is most certainly that you WILL be charged even if you had no classes with any tutor whatsoever, and didn't request a single class from anyone (say, you didn't find a tutor you like).
You will truly not expect to be charged at this early preliminary stage (when you were just looking IF there is a tutor you like!) – but guess what, Superprof already know that as they intentionally misled you, so they're not going to refund you a penny. They will turn around and say that the access to their website (!) itself was the privilege that you should be paying for, rather than actual classes with anyone. Needless to say, you only find that out after you have paid.
Absolutely appalling level of dishonesty. People come to get help – but these guys scam them instead.
You will see that there are dozens of people who were scammed like this on this website alone, and Superprof is of course well aware and is trying to defend it. Not make it right, not refund, not change the misleading wording on their own website (which is surely what an honest company would've done long ago) – instead, they're trying to justify their scam.

Superprof is excellent for connecting…
Superprof is excellent for connecting students and makes everything really simple. Would definitely reccommend.
Hoodwinked in to paying a £39 monthly…
Hoodwinked in to paying a £39 monthly subscription which they refuse to refund. I wish I’d read the other similar reviews before using the site. The wording makes it look as though you are paying for the initial tutoring session, but you aren’t. Unabashed scammers.

Student Pass subscription scam warning
It's very unusual to find a company that's so willing to scam people when they could have a perfectly decent business without doing so. The "Student Pass" subscription, which they claim at sign up will only be charged when you use their tutors, will be charged whether you find a tutor or not. They will then refuse to repay you.

The interface is intuitive
The interface is intuitive, making it easy to showcase my academic background and connect with students who are specifically looking for accent coaching. I appreciate the flexibility it offers in managing my own schedule and the transparency of the student-tutor connection.
Scammers
This company has deliberately misleading information leading to you taking a subscription that you had no intention of taking. If you look for other people who've been scammed the exact same way I was, you'll find hundreds of us. It's all the evidence you need that their cringing reply below is a lie; they exploit the lack of clarity they've created on their websites all over the world.
They make you take a subscription called a 'Student Pass'. On that page, it tells you in a big, friendly font that this is a 'Non-Binding Subscription'. Then it says 'Your card will only be debited if [name of tutor] accepts your request.'
The subscription is £29 per month and is debited whether you book a lesson or not. It gives you access to contacting their tutors - as if this is something you'd expect to pay for, when the company's whole economic model is us contacting tutors! It's like paying a barista an additional fee just to tell them what coffee you want!
When I realised what had happened, they refused to refund me any of the money I'd paid for absolutely nothing at all. This is their normal practice, they've been doing it for years. If they didn't want to exploit this 'error' so many customers keep making, they'd a) refund you and b) change the website to correct this wrong impression.
They offered me a further month's ability to contact their tutors for free. What a joke.
I would add that the tutor I did get one lesson with was not very good, unable to move from her set lesson idea to accommodate the aspect I actually wanted to learn about. Her English was halting and I had to be patient. Doesn't say good things about their recruiting standards either. Do not use this company.
