Absolutely love being able to pay as soon as I'm ready. I've been "held hostage" by servers countless times , desperately trying to get their attention or waiting for my check. If there's a fee to pay... See more

Pay & leave whenever I want.

I like the idea of being able to pay whenever I’m ready — it definitely avoids those moments where you’re waiting around trying to get the bill. It’s not something that completely changes everything, but it does make the end of the meal a bit smoother and less frustrating. I get that there might be a small fee attached, and honestly that doesn’t seem shocking considering how many services charge for convenience nowadays. The interface is also pretty straightforward and easy to figure out.

This should be illegal

This should be illegal. Passing a convenience fee onto a customer, when it’s a convenience for a restaurant to not have to handle the rigamarole of getting and processing checks. Restaurants should pay for this service, not clientele. This is an awful practice. We are all tired of being nickel and dimed in the name of”convenience.” It’s actually NOT convenient for me to spend more of my hard earned income to satisfy the thirst of VC investors.

Horrible concept

Horrible concept - I've noticed this platform operating when paying at 2 London restaurants recently (Gloria/Big Mamma's group - these people are same owners of the Sunday platform) and Caravan. Ultimately the customer ends up paying an additional charge when the restaurant is saving time and money. The platform fee is over and above a high service fee (13.5%) that's added to the bill - so you're paying for the privilege of paying... gob-smacked that this is allowed to happen. Restaurants that employ these practices should be boycotted.

A qr code was put on our table to pay…

A qr code was put on our table to pay for food but it wasn't explained a service charge of 12.5% was added that couldn't be removed plus a tip for the waiter plus a card fee Which is illegal in the UK.
All of these fees can be removed just by paying the server directly! What a scam. The customer does all the work to make it easier for the server but gets scammed for it

Ridiculous transaction fee

They charge you an extra transaction fee for paying with a method that is more inconvenient!
I only agreed to pay with this app because I thought I was helping the server out and saving her time. It is ridiculous to charge me and my friend for using more of our time and going through the hassle of entering our details in an app so the server doesn't have to do it!
They also make it really unclear that a transaction fee will be involved until you get right to the end. It also seemed like I wouldn't have to pay it if I paid by card instead of Google pay, but when the receipt came through it turns out they had taken it anyway.
Such a scam! Has been an irritating end to a visit to what is otherwise one of my favourite restaurants.

It's a great revolution!

I loved using sunday to pay. We were 4 and needed to divide our bill in 3 to cover for our friend's birthday. This was so smooth and perfect to make it an unforgettable experience for our friend!

Double tip This app is morally corrupt

This app is morally corrupt. The restaurant adds a service charge. Then the app asks if you want to leave a tip. Watch out for this and say no otherwise you end up paying double tip. Should be illegal.

Sneaky £1.99 fee per customer paying!

Sneaky £1.99 fee per customer paying, so if you split the bill you each pay £1.99 extra. Don't split it and just get your trustworthy friend to bank transfer you the money.

It also asks for a tip on top of the service charge that is on the bill! Cheeky.

I'll be avoiding paying this way in future!
