We booked a flight to the UK, all fees paid, only to find out after I rang today was the flight price was increased and the flight was cancelled, with no correspondence from them, nor a refund at this time….the last email I received was that the trip was confirmed!
Had I not have rang I would still think we were going?
I am so disappointed with this company I will not use them again, I also wonder if any other people are in the same situation as us and think they are booked?

Scam!..
Scam!... called them 8 times and sent multiple emails, spent hours on the phone over two months and they couldn't fix a scheduling error the airline had made which would result in a missed connecting flight. They told me they 'couldn't get onto' the airline to fix the issue, 'waiting for hours for the airline to answer their calls' etc... Ended up calling the airline directly myself a couple of times, they answered the calls immediately and fixed the issue in ten minutes... Studentuniverse is a scam service pretending to be a travel agency. Do not spend your money here.

Booked a trip with stay and flights. Got flight confirmation, but nothing about hotel. Reached out to hotel and they had nothing of a reservation for me. Student universe customer service did nothing for me besides asked me to confirm my email 7 times. I’m sure they do this to make you give up.

We booked our flights to the Azores with Student Universe on Jan 10. We received a confirmation email that said "Your trip is confirmed". We checked this stressful part of our trip off... come to find out 13 days later I called them to correct a birth date error only to be informed casually that our tickets were cancelled because "the price had gone up by $200".
We did not receive an email from Student Universe to let us know nor anything from the airline. And when asked they said it is in their policy that they don't need to inform us.
My family has been planning this trip since 2021. It is a big deal for us financially. We almost didn't go because we were looking in June and the flights we $800-900 dollars. I ended up looking in April and saw flights for $640. So we bite the bullet to get our family tickets. Now this is costing my family over $850 more for this vacation. This is the first time my parents are traveling out of the country and right now we have hotels, rentals cars, etc. booked. And no way to get there.
They blamed the airline. We called the airline they said absolutely not. The booking agent failed to book the tickets. I have used this company for over 10 years. I am horrified! What a horrible thing to do. I will NEVER use this company again.
Universe of liars
Universe of liars, unethical people and incompetent staff! I booked flights to Europe that included baggage, with British Airways. When I went to the airline's website to see the booking it said that baggage was not included, although my booking details on Student Universe's website said it did. I rang three times to get this fixed, the first two times they said I didn't have to worry as luggage was included. The third time they said luggage was actually not included, it was a mistake during the booking process they said. I complained as the I showed them the screenshot that said luggage was included and the ticket was not cheap. They hang up on me, never answered my emails and then when I wanted to look for my booking again on their website, I got a message which said the details of the booking were no longer available, no details at all! They also promised I would get a call back, I never did. This is a shocking organisation that tells you they sell cheap tickets and rip you off, have rude staff and engage in unethical practices. Go to any other travel agent, but avoid this one if you want to enjoy your trip. They should not exist.

If I could give a negative star review, I would! This is the 1st time I've ever given a poor review even when I wanted to, I always highlighted the good things about companies, but this company does not deserve it.
Three weeks ago, I booked airfare to go home and be with my husband. My flight was confirmed via email and everything looked perfect, except I never got an eticket ad they said I would 3 days before my flight. I checked on it, but they just said I had my confirmation and booking number and all would be fine. The day of my flight, I called the airline directly to confirm my ticket and they said it did not exist. I called Student Universe and they said that they never got a confirmation from the airline (total lie) and that the airline had refused my booking 24 hours after I originally booked (another lie). I got a receipt for my charge on my credit card and they said they never charged me. Why would they send me a receipt? At the moment, it's 3am and my flight was scheduled to leave in 10 hours. I also booked train tickets to get to the airport, which are non-refundable.
This company really failed in their duty. They sent me emails for the booking, confirmation and receipt for my payment, yet never issued my ticket. I'll be checking my credit card tomorrow and they best hope there is no charge on there for my ticket.
I am so upset, so devastated to not see my husband, so disappointed with Student Universe. What they did is just not right. I have traveled 12 times in the past year and I have used all the booking apps including ones you would expect to have problems with, but I have never had this happen. It's completely unacceptable. They should comp me a flight and nothing less. My advice...
Use every other travel app except this one! They need to be shut down.
Greedy company with pretend customer service
This company refused to refund me for the early pandemic cancellations. I tried for 2 years, starting with the date of the cancellation, to speak with somebody and get either a credit or a refund. They never responded despite multiple attempts to call (hours of wait, and when I left my number for a callback, absolutely no callback) or email. When I filed a complaint they instantly reached out with a rude and dismissive email saying I never contacted them during this period.
This is the company that made me decide to never work with 3rd party agencies again, but among all agencies I used before they are the shadiest and most dismissive.
Their prices aren’t much cheaper and they will definitely leave you without any resolution if/when anything goes wrong.
Please, for the sake of the remnants of dignity of businesses among the corporate greed that companies like this are sucked in, DO NOT use this business.
I put my date as recent but this has been an ordeal of years. It’s too late to recover my money and they have already doubled down on making me the scapegoat, but this legal scam still hurts to this day.

I booked a flight through student universe and wanted to changed it… The customer service is the worst of the worst. Overall we spend 12+ hours with the customer service agents. Called them 5 times on an average spent 2 and half hrs on one call. This is very painful and stressful.
Even though we booked our flight through their website, they wanted us to reach out to airlines for a change because they where telling us the airlines blocked them from changing. But we contacted the airlines they said what student universe was telling us was untrue, they can totally change the flight and we didn't block them from changing.
Don't ever trust this website and their customer service…There are ton of 3rd party websites which are better and would rather spend that extra money booking directly from airlines than deal with a company like student universe.

Not worth at all
They are not worth at all. They claim they have deals, cheaper flights and hotels but all are nonsense. I found much cheaper flights and compared with studentuniverse. Don't use their service at all
Very unreliable
Very unreliable. Booked flights and after they took the payment they said my flight was cancelled as they couldnt verify payment but the money left my account. Then it took nearly 2 hours to get through to customer service only for them to hang up as soon as I spoke. Absolute waste of time and scammers.
I’m beyond frustrated with…
I’m beyond frustrated with StudentUniverse. Their cancellation and refund policies are nothing short of a scam. I booked a flight and, when my plans changed, I tried to cancel within the allowed time. However, they claimed I wasn’t eligible for a refund and only offered me a small credit for future travel—something I never asked for. The worst part? They hide these terms in the fine print and don't make it clear during booking.
Additionally, the prices they advertise are misleading. After booking, I noticed several unexpected charges that weren’t disclosed upfront, making my trip way more expensive than expected. This company is clearly set up to take advantage of customers, and I’ll never use them again. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere.
Hefty charges to change your ticket
If you need to change your tickets, they will charge you an arm and a leg. I made the mistake of buying Emirates tickets through them for my parents. We had to change the tickets 2 times for medical reasons and paid around $800-$900 in total. It was definitely not worth the slight savings in using StudentUniverse over purchasing directly from Emirates.
Edit: note that there was little to no difference in ticket prices between the changed flights.
Awful
Awful, stressful experience. I bought an airline ticket through them (was directed to them by Kayak). I was sent a booking confirmation and I used the airline booking reference # to try to purchase an extra legroom seat. Found outfrom the airline that the actual ticket had not been issued yet. I was charged the entire amount on my credit card and was still unable to see the issued ticket. I called them twice and waited to be connected to an agent for an hour each time without any luck. I also emailed them twice without reply. 8 stressful days later, I was credited back the amount and sent an email saying my booking has been cancelled. So I was back to square one. Safe to say, I'll never use them again.

Frustrating Experience with StudentUniverse - Huge Waste of Time
I recently booked tickets through StudentUniverse, expecting a smooth process for selecting seats and paying for extras. Unfortunately, this was far from the reality. The website is plagued with errors, making it nearly impossible to complete these tasks online. After multiple failed attempts, we decided to call customer service, hoping for help.
The support team was, frankly, useless. All they told us was that they couldn’t assist with the issue and recommended we contact the airline directly. This was infuriating, as StudentUniverse clearly has options on their website to book seats and add extras, so why suggest we handle it ourselves with the airline? If that’s the case, what's the point of having these features on their site at all?
In the end, StudentUniverse was a waste of time. If you’re thinking of booking with them, be prepared for a frustrating process. You’re probably better off booking directly with the airline.
Terrible experience, awful customer service.
Terrible experience with this company.
Booked a 3 part flight from proserpine, Australia to London (stopping at brisbane then singapore) for this coming January 2025. Singapore airlines emailed me to say the first part of the flight (proserpine to brisbane) has been cancelled and to contact StudentUniverse to rearrange this first part of the flight. I have called over 10 times and each time the staff say they will call the airline and rearrange for me to get the same flight a day before and every time they never call me back and fail to organise this. I have also written many emails non of which have been replied to.
The customer service has been appalling and it is frankly ridiculous that I have been lied to by each staff member. Would not recommend anyone to use StudentUniverse.
