Don't Expect them to book everything you pay for!

Day before my flight back and I'm trying to confirm my seat and the airline is telling me they didn't receive the extra money I paid for my seat and now I'm subject to more fees!! I had travel protection and it still only got me a 7 day later refund.

Book directly, it is definitely cheaper with a flight watch and the airlines guaranteed.

Student Universe is AWFUL with ticket changes

Student Universe does not help with cancellations or trip changes. All they say is stuff about "the airlines polices" which is just not true. When I asked to speak to someone else, they do not provide another agent. They are awful if plans change and now I have lost so much money because they don't even try to get me a refund for my tickets.

Possible Scam??

Do not trust this company. We booked flights, paid for them and they took the money. Then emailed stating the flights were cancelled as we had not provided full details. We had in fact provided full details on their website and it was submitted successfully. They now have taken over £2,000.00 from us and state there will be a delay returning the money. We will be making a formal complaint to our bank provider. Do not trust!

Don’t bother booking through this site

Don’t bother booking through this site!
They take extra money from you to select your preferred seats and they don’t book them (you have to pay extra again directly with the airline).
They take extra money from you to select your preferred meal and they don’t select them - you have to call the airlines to sort it out.
They take extra money for a ‘better service’ but don’t even provide your passport details to the airline and you’re not able to checkin!!

Ridiculous!!

Reliable Company based in Australia

I like the Company has office and shops in Australia UNLIKE the other ONE Dreams has overseas shop in India has FRAUD or careless mistake to charge for my credit card of flight I did NOT book.
That's making me NOT like to book my flight online for security reasons to give out my credit card details to strangers.

Weird Company

I booked 2 tickets through Student Universe on 08/07/23 for $643.98. On 08/10/23, I was charged again but for $665.10 and it wasn’t by Student Universe, it was by the AIRLINE I flew with (Silver Airways.) After I saw the charge, I immediately called Student Universe and afterwards they sent me an email that stated “Please be advised that the charges you are seeing on your end from Silver Airways will be reversed back to your card and the actual charge will be coming from StudentUniverse.

The charge you received is only an authorization charge and will just fall off. The second charge is the payment for your ticket.”

I understand it was an authorization charge but it should have not happened at all! My bank account ended up going into the negative and I had to pay overdraft fees! I should have been made aware that an authorization charge would take place. Do better Student Universe!

I wouldn't use Student Universe again

I used student universe twice. The flights are cheap-ish. The first flight everything was cheap, but of course you get the long layovers (no issues there). For my second trip, I checked on student universe and Google flights and the flights were about the same price. My issue with student universe is that I was flying from Joburg to the Atlanta in the US. But I had to go through Cape Town. So from Joburg to Cape Town I had a 1hr 10 min connection for an international flight where I still had to go through customs at Cape Town. When I checked in and asked if my bag would be checked to my next flight (because the airline from joburg to cape town was different from my airline to ATL) there was no share code between the flights so the attendant was skeptical that my bag would transfer. She called someone to check and she told me yes my bag would transfer. While in Cape Town, I walked past the baggage claim and coincidentally spotted my bag. I literally had to run to the counter and it was too late to check my bag there so I had to drop it off at oversized baggage. Then I had to run through the airport and go through security, customs, and then run to my gate. 0/10. I am a seasoned traveller, but I cannot understand why anyone would sell a ticket where you will have to transfer flights, re-check your baggage, go through security and customs, all within 1 hr and 10 mins. That is not plausible if you consider the time it takes to disembark, or when the gate closes, so the 1 hr 10mins already shrinks. I have updated my review, because the reply I have received (first in an email from the customer service team, and now on Trustpilot) from Student Universe was essentially a gaslighting technique to shift the blame onto me by suggesting what I could have done, as if I didn't take the necessary precautions the first time to ensure my bag was going to be transferred (that was in email). And now on here, the reply shifted the focus solely to the layover time as being outside of their control and this is just a service for lower fares. Yes, but my central point is about my bag having to be re-checked, which throws the entire short layover into disarray. I purchased the ticket from SU expecting that my bag would transfer with such a tight connection and that did not happen.Through my network, I understand airline operations from various vantage points, so this isn't a matter of inexperience. This is an oversight (technical or otherwise) and a unique and quite sour experience. I'll never use student universe again. I know others who have had good experiences, but this was mine.

StudentUniverse displays the layover duration time if applicable, which was 1 hour 10 mins in your booking. You would be able to find such info when searching tickets. StudentUniverse does not have the rights to determine the layover time of one ticket; the layover time is also calculated and approved by the airlines. If you have any questions regarding the layover duration, feel free to contact the airlines.

Looking forward for continuing a good experience

I got the best price and timing for my flight from Venice to Boston and I soon recommended it to my sister for her same-day flight as mine from Venice to San Francisco. The StudentUniverse site is very clear and fast and for now, I recommend everyone to try it. I hope everything will be going as good and smooth as our booking.

Taken advantage of by Student Universe

I had a terrible experience with Student Universe. Long story, but I ended up with two tickets for the same flight. I cancelled one, then without my permission Student Universe cancelled the other ticket. On the day of my daughters flight we discovered she did not have a ticket. I had to pay $4000 for a same day ticket I am a single mom, it took me two years to save up that amount of money.

Meanwhile I was told by Student Universe that I needed to deal directly with my credit card company to get a refund for the two tickets that were never used.
Both credit card companies ruled in my favor. Student Universe then promised me that if I refused the reversal of charges they would work with the airline to refund me an amount greater than the two tickets. . As soon as I declined the payment from my credit card company Student Universe stated there was nothing they could do to work with the airline. So basically it should have cost me $1000 to get my daughter to her study abroad program it cost me $6000. Basically student universes response was too bad so sad. Suck it up, buttercup.
It will take me years to recover financially.

They’re very speed with resolving…

They’re very speed with resolving technical issues. Again the ticket prices are not expensive, and the customer service agents very helpful, reliable and friendly. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to book a flight.

Life saver

As every student would, I booked two months early through my local airline. However, 4 weeks before my scheduled flight, something came up and I had to cancel my reservations. At that time, the prices were too high but student universe came through. I got prices half of what other agents and airlines were putting up. I was so happy, and the booking experience is so easy and so fast. I'd really recommend this to anyone

Cheap prices

Cheap prices. Easy to use website. Fast confirmation of my student position. Only thing I would say is that if you buy connecting/jumping flights it may be cheaper than direct/connect flights and Student Universe doesn't point that out.

Though it might be cheaper, however, if the first flight gets delayed or cancelled, the airline of the second flight usually won't assist the passengers to reschedule the upcoming flight. When all in one ticket, the airline(s) will be responsible for the flights. Besides, there might be extra fees to check in your baggages if any.
