Streamlabs is a vile and predatory company to be avoided at all costs.

Used both OBS and Streamlabs OBS, and Streamlabs has bloated and slowed down what was great open source streaming software in OBS. The company is predatory and vile, taking advantage of OBS code base and showing themselves to be openly hostile. Truly a waste of time to even consider using the Streamlabs branded fork of the OBS software.

Daylight robbery

I’m upset I had to give them a star because they don’t deserve it. My 9 year old son mistakenly subscribed for a year through PayPal. I contacted PayPal hours after and explained what happened and they refused to refund me. I contacted Streamlabs and explained what happened, and they said PayPal had placed a hold on the transaction and there was nothing they could do. I asked if they could refund me directly and they said they couldn’t. They then told me that they had deleted my son’s account because he was underage and needed a parents permission. Since I couldn’t get back my money I told them I had given permission so they could restore his account. Then then said he had to be thirteen to get a parents permission.
I’m reading these reviews and getting angry again because this sort of behavior seems to be a norm for them.

AVOID Streamlabs and NEVER give them payment details.

After signing up for streamlabs monthly payments last year and being shocked to find they took an annual fee instead, I requested to cancel and get a refund immediately. Of course streamlabs refused to refund me even though I had signed up for monthly payments after a whole back and forth I was advised there was nothing else they could do but they had cancelled the reoccurring subscription and that I wouldn't be charged again. After this I put streamlabs down and never used it again.

Roll on a year and to my shock $150 has been taken from my account AGAIN and trying to speak to customer services is like speaking to an automated bot. I don't think a single person has read my email chain and I just keep getting copy and pasted responses back and still no refund even though I was lucky enough to catch and respond within the hour of payment being taken.

My advice to everyone, avoid streamlabs and NEVER give them your bank details.

After 45 days of waiting and lots of back and forth I finally won my case with Paypal. Do not give up and keep calling them on the phone and explaining the situation - This company is absolutely ripping people off by stealing a yearly sub.

Good luck if you ever need a refund

A couple nights ago, I went to do a live stream and realized that my SL Prime had not renewed because I had recently made changes to my bank information. So after I was done with my stream around 11pm, I went to renew a MONTHLY subscription.
On this page, I was fully under the assumption that I was selecting a monthly rate so I submitted my payment info. I then shut down the computer and went into my living room. About 50 minutes later while on my phone, much to my horror I realized that I made a terrible mistake and selected the annual subscription. Total accident by the way!
I was honestly kind of bent because the resub page looked pretty clear that I was signing up for monthly service, but no. At this point I immediately took action and I submitted a refund request ticket as well as shooting off an email explaining the situation, because God forbid there is a phone number that I can call. About 20 minutes later I get an automated email saying that I needed to cancel my subscription as well as I would have had to have not used any Prime features during that time which I hadn't since I had submitted this payment after I was done streaming.
I went ahead and cancelled the service immediately upon receiving this email and I was feeling fairly confident that a refund wasn't out of the question because I had still submitted the ticket and sent an initial email within the first hour. I really want to emphasize that all of this took place within 90 minutes of submitting my initial payment. So I prayed and went to bed.
Yesterday morning I wake up to an extremely generic email telling me I was not getting a refund simply because I had not cancelled within the first hour, even though I had taken other actions in that first hour to remedy this situation. It was at this time that I requested to speak with someone else and specifically I wanted a phone number to establish contact with the company because this had to be the most outrageous thing I've ever heard.
Let's think about this for a second, there are mattress companies that will send you a bed to sleep on for 90 days and if you send it back on the 89th day, they'll give you a refund for a slept on bed. But I can't have my subscription changed to monthly and be refunded the difference? Hello?
As of today, I am still being denied a refund. I am also being denied the ability to speak with anyone other than my not-so empathetic or friendly email representative.
I'm at a dead end of nothing but bitter acceptance at this point and I could not be more disappointed.
Nothing like being charged 150 dollars when you think you're being charged 20 right before Christmas.
Also today I began doing research on Streamlabs and their policies and I started looking into other customer reviews and very quickly realized that I am not alone. Far from it, actually. Loads of people have made the same mistake that I have and for one sorry excuse or another, Streamlabs denied their refunds as well. All because "our policies are clear"... that is the best reason they have. If I have to hear or read that sad excuse one more time, I'm going to freak. Everyone's situation is different, yet they're using some broad, totalitarian rule to desperately hold onto everyone's money.
I find this to be extremely troubling. I realize that I was the one that made the mistake and shame on me, but unlike some others I did take action within the first hour even though it wasn't the "correct" action. I will never recommend Streamlabs to anyone and I will make sure I share this story on every platform I can find.

Recurring subscription difficulties

After signing up for a single month, I was billed for the two following months with zero notice or receipt, only seeing the charge on my credit account a couple months in. Their website makes it annoyingly difficult to cancel your subscription, so I believe this is by design. It's legal, sure, but it's wrong. I'll be going with a more ethical company next time.

The service itself was good. Confusing to make work, but that could have easily been user error since I was new to things.

When signing up for Streamlabs Prime

When signing up for Streamlabs Prime, they advertised a $20 a month fee that I was okay with doing while I get new overlays and alerts. Check my account to make sure the payment went through a few hours later to find they had charged me for an annual subscription without alerting me of this. They then told me when I asked to pay for monthly instead that I was out of luck as they only have a 1 hour refund policy. Absolutely garbage customer service and predatory business practices.

Stole my money.

Stole my money.

On October 2nd, I selected the $12.99 monthly subscription no more than 30 minutes, I look at my phone and I see a message from paypal saying $149 was taken from me. I immediately go to cancel because I was trying to use the monthly subscription. There is no selection for monthly or annual. I've been asking for a refund for 2 days and they are refusing to give me my refund saying if you used the product. Which is ridiculous. There site is charging people annually when they click to update for a monthly fee. This company are thieves. I don't recommend anyone using this at all. They don't seem to care that their website is charging people annually instead of monthly. In my opinion this company is a scam and do fraud.

Another Streamlabs Prime yearly sub victim.

UPDATE: After hassling Streamlabs for 6 days, threatening to report them to UK Trading Standards 4, yes 4, times (which I will still be doing) and citing UK Consumer Rights laws and insisting that they are breaking said laws by not giving me a refund, they have finally issued me a refund. I will update again if and when it comes through. If you find yourself in the same situation as myself and many others, DON'T LET UP. Look up your country's Consumer Rights laws and CITE THEM. Insist that they give you a refund, no matter what their T&C's say. Threaten them with reporting to Trading Standards or whatever equivalent institution or body there is in your country. Follow through and report them even if you get a refund. You should not have to fight to get a refund when you've been manipulated into losing your grocery money for the month. Better yet, if you have the time and energy and have a solicitor/lawyer, potentially consider legal action. My mental health isn't good enough, nor my pockets deep enough, to be able to do such a thing, but the more people that hold them to account for their manipulative, anti-consumer policies and actions, the more likely they are to change things. Either way, encourage your friends away from Streamlabs. Get someone on fiver to make you an overlay instead.

Thought I was subscribing on a monthly basis, and I got billed for $150 for a year long subscription. Caught it days later and they are refusing a refund. Am pursuing this through customer service but it's not looking hopeful. Their site is designed in such a way as to mislead you about what you are paying for, and uses its visual design language to try and enable this. They also then say you have to ask for a refund within 1 hour of subscribing to the service to be eligible. They know *exactly* what they're doing.

I do not recommend Streamlabs whatsoever as a result. Put in some elbow grease on photoshop or GIMP and make your own overlays and whatnot instead. Their services seem quite high quality beneath the disgusting, scammy monetisation. Quite a shame.

Streamlabs Useless for Multiple Clients/Professionals

Streamlabs seems okay on the surface. Pay for prime in order to access the multi-platform streaming service, simple. As someone in a business offering video streaming services, I signed up for prime to do a client's multi-stream (Youtube, FB, Twitch).

Simply put, Streamlabs Prime ONLY works on ONE ACCOUNT. The one you sign up on. Useless for someone offering streaming services to other clients. Also-no warning before we went live. We were 2 minutes away from going live (all social platforms were signed in, mind you, and everything looked okay on the surface) hit go live-and it directed us to buy a prime account-which we had already done!

Customer service responded that each client would have to buy their own prime subscription-month by month. Absolute joke-not recommended for anyone offering multistream for clients. It's even a rip-off for one person. Look elsewhere.

They stole my stuff and customer service is a joke!

Customer service is a joke. Don't order any merch or you will be left with a headache.

I would like to add an update to this one. I ordered merch that was mistakenly sent back by USPS. Upon contacting customer service I was told they would reship my purchase at an additional shipping fee once it arrived back at their facility. It has now reached their facility as of yesterday and they are refusing to reship due to it being outside of some sort of help window. That is madness! I hope no one else gets swindled like I did!

I've used Streamlabs since 2017

I've used Streamlabs since I started streaming in 2017 (pre-my rebranding), and when I was able to afford Prime I joined that program. The layouts, merch, customization, ease of transactions - everything about this service absolutely enhances your stream to the next level.

I'm not sure about customer support - but I think that speaks of how easy using this service is. I've never had a problem, be it the SLOBS software or transactions on the supporter's end. And the fact SLOBS backs up your layouts remotely is the best part, IMHO. Knowing that, should your computer, hard drive, or whatever break, you can easily log in with the client and automatically have everything the way it was... its a life changer. Security knowing that even if you lose everything, you at least have the layouts you spent hours or days creating.

Every streamer should use Streamlabs, even if it's simply the free services. With the tools Streamlabs give you, even a novice streamer just starting out can create professional-looking streams. It's just... the best service for streamers. Period.

scammed 149$

I signed-up for a yearly prime sub at work and only got to use it 8 hours later after my shift. They said that we had 1 hour to cancel after buying the product.
This is why people hate tech company and silicone valley. You have no recourses, no leverage, you just have to take it in the ass and move on.
