Great fun at Storage Vault

The staff - particularly Stefini - were superb. We had great hilarity and it made something we expected to be mundane into great fun😂

Awful Company...

Never again will I use this company....conned and rude rude staff. They are lovely till you have issues, broken lift, broken shutters.....tell you 14 days notice but really its a month because you paid upfront. Don't waste your energy go elsewhere. My last call from them the girl Miriem just talked at me and I was still on the line when she hung up on me.

When you previously enquired about our notice period, we explained that it is 14 days, and we also send invoices seven days ahead of your payment date to help ensure you have time to plan accordingly. We’re always transparent about our terms, including that storage fees are non-refundable. We do our best to make this clear from the outset.

We understand your frustration regarding the issues with the lift and shutters. These are both maintained regularly, but on the occasions mentioned, they were unfortunately damaged by other customers. While we work hard to minimise these situations, some instances are out of our control — and we’re always quick to respond when problems arise.

We’ve also reviewed the call you made to our team before this review was posted. It’s unfortunate the conversation ended before we could fully assist you, and we’d be more than happy to continue the discussion and help with any outstanding concerns.

Top notch storage and service

Lots of clean dry space for my stuff in a recent house move. Stefani was very informative and helpful. The process of how to access the locker and how to close down the account when I was done was straightforward and easy to follow. I wouldn't hesitate to use Storage Vault again.

I will be telling everyone,not just…

I will be telling everyone,not just people who read reviews on trust pilot,
DO NOT USE STORAGE VAULT FOR YOUR STORAGE REQUIREMENTS..
They use dynamic pricing and charge different prices even within the same site for the same size of storage unit..
They will price your storage based on whatever charge they think they can get away with..
I will cost you more in the long run STORAGE VAULT than the extra cost to me since you put my storage cost up..
COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE..

While both are located in Livingston, storage rates can vary depending on several factors, including local demand, site-specific operating costs, and availability. This is quite common across the self-storage industry — much like hotel room rates, which can differ even within the same city based on location, demand, and amenities. Similarly, storage fees are not fixed indefinitely, and we strive to keep our pricing competitive while maintaining the quality and security of our facilities.

Please note that any changes to our rates are always communicated to customers well in advance, allowing sufficient time to plan financially or explore alternative options if needed.

Also, we are unable to comment on other customers’ accounts or pricing as these are confidential and tailored to individual circumstances.

We understand your disappointment, especially since you were initially recommended the Fleming Road location. Your feedback is valuable and will be shared with our team to help us improve our communication and guidance for our customers.

Absolutely fantastic service…

Absolutely fantastic service from Storage Vault Grangemouth! I needed a shipping container at very short notice and Montana was brilliant from start to finish. Her customer service was excellent – friendly, professional and so helpful. She managed to get everything organised for me within less than 24 hours, which was a huge relief. Would highly recommend Storage Vault to anyone looking for fast, reliable and efficient storage solutions. Thank you again, Montana – you were a star!

Hired a unit in Bishopbriggs

Hired a unit in Bishopbriggs, unit was what we needed.
You have to give 2 weeks notice to vacate, that was fine but they do NOT refund you the remaining balance. Tough luck basically. Called Kenneth? He informed me I'm not the first to raise this issue.
He told me it's all in the terms and conditions ... Lesson to me read more carefully ....but i disagree with no refunds !!

Good quality storage with a good introductory rate. Just Check the T&Cs for notice period and insurance

I needed some space as a staging area while decluttering my flat. I went in to the office Saturday morning and Jill was extremely welcoming and friendly. She talked me through how everything worked and helped me select an outdoor unit for 24/7 access as i would mostly want to work in the evenings and weekends.

The units are insulated, clean and modern and lock with a roller shutter and padlock, inside a pincode security gate.

Jill was able to get the just-vacated unit cleaned and ready for me within a few hours and i started moving things in that day.

Two months later the introductory rate came to an end and i decided to move out. Its important to note there is a 2 week notice period, which i hadn't realised before. But otherwise it was a good move-out.

The other thing that adds to the price is the 'insurance', which is unclear if it's mandatory or not (i was told it was but later found i could instead take out my own personal insurance instead according to the policy) and doesn't actually seem to be an insurance product when you read the T&Cs. So i would recommend looking into this before renting as it does add to the overall cost.

Overall it was a safe place to store my things and the discounted rate is reasonable. I just wish that was the regular rate as the full one is not affordable for me. Storage vault could do with improving their communication around the "insurance" as well.

In line with SSA regulations all storage unit contents must have some form of cover while stored on site. This is discussed before, and during the move in process. DO NOT RENT A STORAGE CONTAINER

DO NOT RENT A STORAGE CONTAINER! I rented a storage container at the Grangemouth site from Nov 2024 till March 2025. When I first contacted storage vault I ask the usual question “is the container water tight?” as I’ll be storing furniture and some electrical items. “They advised yes!” The week before I went to vacate, I found water in the unit and also water droplets on the ceiling. I reported this and contacted the insurance as it damaged all my furniture and some electrical items. They come back and said I wasn’t covered as it was condensation that caused this and not water ingress. They took till June to resolve the matter and gave me those findings. When I had to pay for another removal company to collect the damaged items. I found more water coming in. The containers are not lifted off the ground and too close together which means no adequate airflow to stop condensation and water ingress.

We understand how upsetting it can be to discover damage to your belongings. While all of our containers are weatherproof and maintained to prevent water ingress from external sources, condensation can naturally occur inside metal containers — particularly during fluctuating weather — and unfortunately, this is not something that can be entirely prevented.

Our storage units are ventilated to industry standards to support airflow and help reduce the risk of condensation. However, as condensation is a naturally occurring environmental factor, we do recommend that customers take additional precautions when storing moisture-sensitive items, such as using protective covers. Our team is always available to offer guidance on best storage practices.

We're sorry to hear that, following your report, the claims team was unable to approve compensation due to the cause being condensation, which is typically not classed as water ingress or structural failure.

We’ve shared your feedback with our facilities team and will continue to monitor conditions at the Grangemouth facility to ensure our high standards are maintained.

Short term storage

I only need short term storage prior to moving house and can't fault Storage Vault Stirling. The whole process from beginning to end was quick and easy. I'd definitely recommend and would use again if required

Storage rental

Lisa and Rachel were lovely they answered all our questions kept us upto date with renting the storage. Explained everything and were are great support. Lisa took us round the available units and allowed us to choose what would be best suited to our needs. The communication was fab also. Would defo use again.

We've used Storage Vault for around 3…

We've used Storage Vault for around 3 years and have always found the service to be fantastic. The units are clean, accessible and the location well maintained and looked after.

The staff are fantastic and always answer queries quickly and fully.

We also found the options to be really flexible, and on more than one occasion we were able to flex our unit size on the same day based on the changes in our needs.

Atrocious customer service. Profit over honour and care

Having been at the Coatbridge branch in September with 1 unit to begin with before adding 4 more I had originally enjoyed a good speedy service. They very accommodating. Unfortunately, recent issues have left me very disappointed.

It has came to light they operate with a dynamic pricing model unlike other companies which means you never know what the price is going to be from one day to the next. I was never informed of that and as an expanding company that does not allow me to plan and budget. Upon recently wanting to add a 6th unit on I was quoted a price that was was almost 100% more every month. I flagged my disappointment with this but ultimately wasn't taken on board.

The next issue, 1 week after the complaint was another pricing issue which lacked compete transparency. They quoted me short term 2 weeks storage and decided to change the price last minute without notice once I confirmed the duration. They said I had taken too long to reply so they changed the rate they were charging.

It's been such a shame as well as things had been going really well but now I am appalled at their approach and lack of care for customers I will be looking elsewhere.

We also regret that this wasn’t communicated more clearly at the outset.

Regarding your recent inquiry about a sixth unit and the quoted pricing, we apologise if you felt your concerns weren’t properly acknowledged. Our team should always strive to be transparent, responsive, and fair, and we fell short in this instance. Likewise, any changes in quoted rates due to response delays should have been clearly communicated before any adjustment was made. We are reviewing this internally to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Colin & Jill provide excellent service once again. This is the 2nd consecutive year I have used storage vault Dundee for my son moving between flats while at uni.
