I’ve banked with SIB for over 10 months and in that time I’ve had a flawless service from their team. Now this isn’t one of those fake reviews, this is a genuine customer review.
Don’t get me wrong, the service is not like banking in the EU where after three clicks of a mouse you can shuffle money all over instantly. Banking in PR does take a little time but not weeks and weeks like the ill informed average Joe might suggest. As a customer you need to plan a few days in advance to ensure things works within sensible timescales.
Depending on your location time management is also a factor as SIB banking operations run during the normal business hours of the Caribbean, so if you happen to be 12 hours +/- then you’ll have to factor that in too.
What I have found to be exceptionally helpful are the SIB staff located around the globe who are typically in a time zone that’s more suited to the customer. In my case there is a team member located in between my time zone and that of the main office that cuts a 12 hour time difference down to 6 hours.
Finally the team back at the head office are exceptionally helpful and strive to build a rapport with you the customer, it’s personal banking that you don’t get with your local APAC or EU bank or even private banks I’ve had dealings with in the past.
I’ll not name individuals but the staff located in London, Israel and Puerto Rico (you know who you are!) have served me well and as I embark on another business route SIB will of course be my trusted partner.
