Made Everything Easy

First time using Sparrow to secure a place, and everything went super smoothly as a result. I had to find a new home at the last minute, and the Sparrow agent assigned to me (hi, Russel!) worked overtime to make sure all of the documentation was in order.

Patience...we have to know what we want and wait patiently

My experience was great I love the fact that sparrow didn't waste time getting me a tenant and my coordinator Russel was very knowledgeable he was always available to my answer my questions and very helpful

Do not waste your time with sparrow

I asked for a non smoker without children and they gave me exactly what I did not ask for. Felt pressured by them to take this boarder due to the constant phone calls and texts. The boarder smoked in my house and it was confirmed. Sparrow kept suggesting to give a warning and I wanted to end the contract. Sparrow does not have the home owner's best interest. They are only interested in collecting fees and have no regard for the home owner's safety. Stay away from Sparrow, they do not care about you.

It’s important to clarify a few key points. The boarder disclosed upfront that she was a smoker, and you accepted her knowing this information. At no point did we pressure you — you chose to move forward after reviewing her profile and disclosures yourself. Our calls and messages were part of our standard support to help hosts feel confident in their decision, not to force it.

At Sparrow, our role is to help facilitate shared living arrangements and support both hosts and boarders throughout the experience. We do not control individual conduct in the home, and in some cases, we understand that a match might not work out. In your situation, we were there to assist every step of the way, including providing options on how to address the issues you raised.

Unfortunately, you chose to escalate matters and made a series of unfounded and extreme claims about the boarder. Additionally, installing security cameras inside your home after the boarder had moved in was a serious violation of privacy and a direct breach of our host policies.

Due to these actions, we made the decision to terminate your membership and issued you a full refund — even though your conduct fell far outside what we expect from our host community.

We stand firmly by our commitment to protect the privacy, dignity, and safety of everyone using Sparrow. We wish you the best moving forward.

After expressing interest in a property…

After expressing interest in a property a Sparrow agent contacted me to set up a viewing and, after confirming my decision to move in, finalize the paperwork.

It was good to have a human agent on hand to ask questions to and facilitate interactions with the landlord rather than relying purely on landlord interactions and automated online systems.

🚫 Buyer Beware: My Experience with Sparrow Shared Living 🚫

I feel compelled to share my experience with Sparrow Shared Living, as it has been nothing short of disappointing. What they promise during the sales process is not what you actually receive. The expectations they set simply do not align with the reality of the service they provide.

When I voiced my dissatisfaction, rather than working toward a fair resolution, they refused to return my credit. Instead, they require you to continue doing business with them — even when you’re already unhappy with their service. This puts you in a difficult position: continue with a service that has already failed to meet expectations, or walk away and lose your money.

This kind of approach reflects a lack of integrity and poor customer service. It’s unfortunate, but I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. You’re much better off hiring a true professional who stands behind their work and values their clients.

Stay far away from Sparrow Shared Living. They’ve made it clear through their actions that customer satisfaction is not their priority.

That said, we do want to clarify a few important points. As a platform, Sparrow’s role is to connect and match homeowners with housemates, and to support both parties throughout the process.
While we do our best to ensure successful matches, there are rare instances where a housemate may need to terminate early — something that is ultimately outside of our control. When that happens, we work hard to support the host and restart the search.

Regarding your credits, our service fee policy is clearly outlined from the start. That fee covers the time and resources spent marketing your room and facilitating the onboarding process. While we don’t issue refunds for this, your credits remain fully active and can be applied toward a future match.

It’s also worth noting that your listing was priced much higher than typical for your area, which likely contributed to lower renter interest.
We do our best to advise on pricing to support faster matches, but ultimately, pricing decisions rest with the host.

We appreciate you being part of the Sparrow community, and while we regret that this experience didn’t go as hoped, our team is still here and happy to support you in reactivating your search if you choose to move forward.

The Sparrow team has been very helpful…

The Sparrow team has been very helpful in terms of communication with the landlord and arranging visits to the property. Additionally, they did a fantastic job following up with both parties to ensure the agreement was finalized on time.

However, there is room for improvement in internal communication, as I was asked the same questions multiple times. I hope the Sparrow team will consider this feedback to enhance their service.
