We had a slow leak in our kitchen that we could not diagnose. I called S O'Brien and they sent an engineer out the next day. He managed to track the leak, which was coming from upstairs. Having found it he had to pull up the upstairs carpet, cut through floorboards, repair a broken pipe and then install new parts.
He clearly talked me through everything that was wrong and what needed to be done to fix the problem and how it had occurred in the first place.
He did a fantastic job of putting everything back as it was including the floorboards and refitting the carpet like none of it had happened.
He then tested the fix which was perfect - this was two weeks ago and we have had no trouble since.
The engineer was polite and obviously highly skilled, he did all of this in about an hour without any disruption to us.
Would absolutely recommend and will definitely use them again.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Our boiler broke and needed replacing and Adrian from S O'Brien came out the same day to quote for a new one. He talked through all the options and gave good advice. The next day Adam was here on time to fit the new one. He was really polite and didn't grumble at all when we asked him to make some changes. Highly recommended for a reliable, quick and honest service

Sent by British Gas wouldnt let them jet wash my drive totaly imcompetent 4 weeks on relying on British Gas to rectify their mistakes and theres loads including water damage to my ceilings bad electrics bad plumbing only thing they concerned about is weighing in the old copper tank !!!!
DO NOT USE! Back in March this year, S O'Brien sent an engineer out to a boiler that was not working to my girlfriend's dad who is 80 years old, Disable, and classed as venerable. The Engineer, Ian Brown, put a screw driver through the casing of the boiler which rendered it unsafe to use and left him without hot water or heating, the property has an immersion heater installed, and the engineer didn't bother to turn the switch on that was clearly visible in the kitchen, the engineer didn't even try find it, he was also looking round the property and we didn't know why! This company charged him £140 and refused to refund this after we complained, they even had the cheek to try and get him to have a new boiler fitter. We called a local Heating Engineer, Martin Shelton who came and checked the boiler out for free, the boiler should never have been condemned, it was only down on the form as "At Risk" which means it didn't need capping off and it was in a garage, so there was even less risks. We were away on Holiday at the time, but luckily Martin Shelton is an honest and decent heating engineer, unlike this company. I personal wouldn't use this company for the way they treat an elderly person, leaving them without heating or hot water, it was really cold on that day too. If I could rate 0 stars I would. The Engineer Ian Brow was really rude to me when I questioned him on who is worked for, he didn't seem to know who he was working for, also my girlfriends dad was a heating engineer and even he said Ian was dodgy!
We have a bad experience with S O'Brien, we booked them on a Friday through 'Go assist' to come and repair our boiler within 24 hours and engineer called us the next morning and a scheduled a time that he was going to come around 14:30-15:00 which we agreed and he call us back later after couple of hours later to say that he was coming around 13:00 which was not agreed and we would have been outside at that time so then he agreed to come at 14:30-15:00. It was 15:00 and the engineer did not turn up and did not even call us. I had call him after 15:00 to tell me that he is stuck with another customer and can not be at our place. He left us without heating and hot water throughout the weekend with children in the house. I am very disappointed.
Ethen came to us to replace the Heat Exchanger & Gas Burner & what a first class job he did. He certainly knew what he was doing & answered any questions I asked him.
I'm very grateful for the advice he gave me to help ensure we don't get a repeat of this issue. I would certainly recommend sobrienheating.com.
We had the pleasure today of having boiler fitted by Jack. Most professional, pleasant, well mannered young men! He was completely independent, worked nonstop until the job was done. Can’t praise him enough, usually having tradesmen in the house is something you don’t look forward to but this wasn’t the case. No mess no fuss! Highly recommend him and his company!!!

Ideal boiler required recall. They use SOB to carry out. Appointment booked and cancelled day before. Rebooked and cancelled day before. Rebooked informing would receive call from 8am to specify time. Woke up to see “sorry we missed you” 7.40am, who attends a property for works at this time? Rebooked again and cancelled on day! Honestly you would think I am making this up. Never in my life has any appointment of any kind been rebooked for a FIFTH time. Complained to Ideal and now being completed internally. Absolute shambles of a company. Had to take time off work each time to be home for appointment. Absolutely embarrassing.

From answering the phone by the lovely lady at the company, to being booked in for a boiler service, to a visit from Jack to do the job, professionalism and efficiency abounded. I am from a fitted kitchen and bathroom background in sales and management over 37 years ( now retired), and would have been very proud and pleased to have had them on my team. Well done, and thanks again- we will be using you again. :-)
The engineer came a couple of days ago, he was a cockney gentleman and he was brilliant !! explained everything and was a pleasure to talk to and very funny.
Boiler service job completed by Jack, who was very professional and friendly. He communicated when he would be arriving. He was respectful of our home, ensuring his boots were covered and kept his work space tidy. Jack even reminded me that he needed to sign the servicing booklet for the boiler, which I totally forgot about.
Jack was also very good with our daughter, who wanted to show him her toys.
We would and will continue to recommend S O'Brien's heating solutions to our family and friends

Can only go on the boiler service carried out today on behalf of YourRepair on our 28 year old heat onl boiler. Engineer phoned early to give a time window which he kept to. put on overshoes which could do with being replaced, had holes on the soles, get him some new ones. Seemed very efficient, cleaned the burner box compartment which was not done on last years service by another company, lubricated the fan which I have not seen done before so pleased with the service. Have knocked a star off as any repair not needed so cannot comment on that.
Had a problem with my boiler needed a new part under my insurance. after a few problems the wrong part was ordered… the right part was then replaced and I’m now happy to say. I’m up and running with hot water …
Recently had new boiler fitted, communication prior to the visit was great, and on the day of the install the engineer:
- arrived on time
- was friendly
- cleaned up
- explained the new system
