Same as lots of others
Same as lots of others. I tried to install the Ringo app to park in Derry. After I had given my card details and authorised 1p there was no option to input the car reg so something wasn’t right and there was no app installed. Today I see they have processed £39.99 payment which is pending. I have contacted my bank and they have blocked the payment.
Not just Smooth-hub!!!
People, be vigilant! My bank has told me that this fraud is rife, particularly in the last few weeks - including another merchant, Allhourcare.com. I've been advised that, although they've now blocked the merchant on my account (and issued a new card), my details may have been passed to other bogus merchants - so keep looking for rogue transactions on your accounts. In my case, the money was taken through my Google wallet after putting through a 1p test transaction when trying to instal a parking app.

I was trying to join Morrisons and found that I'd subscribed to this and because I didn't realise it wasn't to do with what I'd intended so I actually put in my bank details and joined then when I continued I realise this was something else completely, they initiated a £0.01 subscription withdrawal which was pending in my nationwide account, then two days later they tried to take £39.99 their subscription for 28 days, but nationwide blocked their payment and now issued me with a new card, they may be scammers, watch and beware! For smooth hub dirty tricks, I'm not the only person, there's no smoke without fire.
Total scam
Total scam! Similar to others - trying to download a parking app. This site popped up in 1st window with continue button. Took 0.01p as a pending payment - i realised it didn't seem right then today attempted to collect £39.99 from my account. Luckily TSB blocked the payment and contacted me to confirm if I had made the payment. They have declined the payment and also blocked the site from using my Google pay account. New card has been issued.
Scam on snettisham beach!!
Scam on snettisham beach!!! Parking meter had a qr code to scan to pay parking fee. Luckily my credit card company intercepted the transaction and blocked any further attempts to extract money from my account. I have heard this is a common scam on parking meters nationwide. Beware
Scam
I was trying to join Morrisons and found that I'd subscribed to this and because I didn't realise it wasn't to do with what I'd intended so I actually put in my bank details and joined then when I continued I realise this was something else completely. Not knowing what they were upto I went straight to my bank Reported it and cancelled my card. I have to await a new card but worth it to put my mind at rest.

The same thing happened to me as every other reviewer has already said. Was downloading an app when Smooth Hub popped up and even though I cancelled it a penny then £39.99 was taken from my card. Have had to cancel my card and be issued with a new one second time in a month due to another scam. Must say Barclays have been fantastic very professional and helpful. Well done to them. Stay well clear of Smooth Hub.

Absolute scam! They scammed me after I tried to pay for car parking on an app. Initially took 1p but then tried to take £39.99. Raised it with my bank as payments were still in pending.
This 1 star is for a minus 1
This 1 star is for a minus 1 ! Trying to set up an uber app and inadvertently clicked on what I thought was a continue button for the app. But it was for this they obviously had a tiny advert in the uber app. Took 1 pence from my account and my bank contacted me. I had to block my card. And even then they were trying to take £39.99 from my account. How is this within the law ? Totally Unacceptable
Scam !!!!
Scam !!!!! when trying to install a firestick on smart TV. Same experience as other posters here asking for £39.99. Notifications from bank of dodgy payment and follow up calls from fraudsters.
Cancelled my credit card pronto.
Beware!! Total fraud attempt.
Scam link disguised as continue button
They had a large "continue" button in their very small advertisement box which I mistook for the "continue" button when setting up my qr scanner app. Only 1p taken but luckily I realised what had happened and had my bank put a stop on any future payments.
SCAM!!
SCAM!!! Inadvertently subscribed when trying to set up a yopmail email account. Took 1p from my bank then next day attempted to get £39.99. My bank contacted me about a potential fraud - but it meant cancelling my debit card. Beware they seem to hijack genuine websites - with this many scams, how are they still operating?!?!?
I echo all the others
I echo all the others. A scam who take money without consent.
Scam
I was trying to download Ringo app for parking. But gave up trying.
I saw a payment for 1p and £39.99 on my credit card.
I had been joined to this scam company with no consent to take above monies.
I had to get the bank to sort out this mess!
Scam!
Scam!! Luckily my bank rejected payments but had to then call bank and go through process to place block on company making further claims.
This is absolutely a scam
This is absolutely a scam, I was trying to renew my Microsoft subscription which you have to press a blue shield and up popped a blue shield that looked like the Microsoft one but it was this one pretending to be it. At first I didn't notice but Microsoft was still asking for payment, only smooth-hub.com had put through a payment of £0.01p appeared on my credit card and straight after a subscription payment of £39.99 which I had done unknowingly, I followed through where it had come from and yep the dreaded blue shield and realised what had happened. So then the mess of contacting my bank, change of card and waiting for the pending payment to go through before the bank could stop it. All very stressful.
Scam
Scammed into a subscription I have no idea what for. Trying to set up an LG smart TV and told I had to prove I was over 18years old. Reported to Bank, as they have taken money already. Absolute fraud. Stressful mess.
Reading all the reviews
Reading all the reviews, I have to agree, its a total scam! I have had to cancel my card and instigate a fraud alert with the bank! I don't even know where the initial 1p came from. But definitely saw the £39.99 they tried to, in essence, steal from me. And Banks must be aware of this scam by now as the bank notified me of the transaction being potential fraud.

I have never subscribed to or known this Company. My bank alerted me and blocked a payment for £39.99. I have received an email from this company saying I have unsubscribed when I have never contacted or known of them. My card is now blocked, thankfully. There is no telephone number for this company. I have sent them an email requesting one so my fraud department can contact them. We will see. Avoid
