STOP! and think

£ 2.500 spent on a fab 50 retro fridge freezer with a two year warranty, I've wanted one for years and my husband told me to order one. I was so excited. It arrived, with two chappies that were less than impressed they had to deliver it, and didn't stop moaning about it as it was heavy ( hello! It's a fridge freezer) they dumped it unceremoniously into my kitchen and went. I got over that and treated my new fridge freezer like a member of the family, to no avail.
No one said they were discontinuing this model no one offered an extra warranty, now here I am with a two and a half year old fridge freezer that has broken down and apparently cannot be repaired, my husband has passed away and I've been advised to recycle it as you can't get the parts, peel me off of the ceiling. To say I'm miffed is an under statement
so no I can't recommend Smeg at all.
Take heed.
I'm off now to buy a new fridge freezer.

Succumbed to getting lured in by the brand name and a nice shining kettle and toaster set.
I should have realised when opening the box to reveal plasticity toot!
Well the kettle despite using filtered water went kaput at 1 yr 1 months (yep outside warranty) and the toaster refused to toast or pop down after 2yrs, considering the price for these you're are not paying for a superior product.....I had £20 Argos kettles that have outlived these by years.
Avoid being a magpie like I was attracted to the shine and brand name and spend you're money on much better brands that last longer than this junk.

smeg tumble drier DHT791LUK

smeg tumble drier DHT791LUK.
This tumble drier has been pretty poor from the day I bought it.
It stops any of the cycles before things are dry so most things remain damp and smell. Poor product. However, because of the price reluctant to get rid of it.

Do not buy smeg

Do not buy smeg, high tech garbage, no mechanical buttons, oven turns off with the lightest splatter on the controls, built in microwave regularly gets stuck in some superstate between on and off where if you cannot get to the power to reset, then whatever is left inside becomes trapped forever for said lack of buttons.
Also, terrible interface, not intuitive at all and impossible to set duration of timer without just pressing the +30 seconds button a bunch.

Smeg standmixer disappointing

Unfortunately I'm very disappointed with my new Smeg stand mixer. It looks beautiful but the quality and customer service are very poor. An initial out of box failure was replaced under warranty, although the process of even getting ahold of someone was very difficult. On the replacement unit, the glass bowl does not lock properly so it whips out of place violently when kneading dough. I actually believe it's a design flaw, and the unit it simply not designed to be used for kneading dough. I've had many communications with Smeg and Royco about this, and they have offered me a new unit at a discounted price of $300, but only in 2 color options that I don't like. I shouldn't have to pay for a new unit even at a discount when the practically new one I have just doesn't work properly. I would stay away from Smeg in the future, as the product and service are both disappointing.

Item ordered from SMEG never arrived

We ordered a juicer from SMEG on February 12, 2025. I paid for express shipping to get it in a few days as a birthday gift. It is now almost three weeks later and I still don't have the appliance. We called Canpar (the courier) who said they were busy and would deliver the next day (twice) and still never received the item. The third time we called they said they could not find the item. I spoke with SMEG who told me to follow up with the courier myself. SMEG should have some responsibility to follow up with the courier they hired and ensure that customers receive the items. I suggest avoiding ordering anything from SMEG.

Do Not Trust Smeg. Horrible customer service

I loved the retro tea kettle-- until the lid completely broke after only one year. It happens, so I email their customer service -- give the date of purchase, pictures of the malfunctioning lid-- and they did not respond at all. No response, so I call. No call back. How good can a product be if their customer service sucks so bad? DO NOT BUY SMEG.

Had a milk frother for a few months -which continually beeps an error message. Have approached customer service via email and been put through a gauntlet of ping pong emails and tasks to try and get their product to work. Been told do this / do that / video this video that.

Supposed to be a premium brand - has ryanair levels of customer service.

In case anybody at Smeg cares and wishes to see a positive review after someone in customer service actually fixes my problem.

Substandard quality

Smeg oven failed after 5 years of little use. Top element, thermostat and fan all had to be replaced. The oven still looks like new inside and out . Hardly been used for past 2 years as have bench oven / airfyer which I use all the time. Have had three houses and bought new ovens ( not Smeg) which were all like brand new when we sold the houses 10 - 12 years later. Had 5 person family.
Now have only two pensioners and Smeg oven . Turns out to be a piece of crxxp. Would never buy a Smeg appliance again. Company not interested in helping with repair costs. Very disappointing.
Have never written a bad review in my life before this.

Smeg Retro Blender-- do not order!!

I bought a smeg retro blender in December 2023 which cost $300. I used it twice and it won't turn on now. Smeg offers 2 year warranty-- but not if you buy through amazon.com-- then it is 1 year. So I am 1 month out of warranty and I am not throwing more $$ into this piece of junk. Customer service was awful! They make you submit a lot of info and then tell you to take it elsewhere for a repair. I will never buy SMEG again

DO NOT PURCHASE: NOT FIT FOR PURCHASE - APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Products not fit for purpose. Parts take way too long to come from Italy. My dishwasher stopped working on the 23 December. Its still under warranty and Smeg arranged for Domex to attend to repair. The engineer has been out 3 times and will be returning again for a fourth as he needs yet another part. Each time the part needs to come from Italy and takes 7 to 10 days each time. This machine is less than 2 years old and has needed 4 parts so far. This machine is a replacement from Smeg as the previous one (still under 2 years old) was unrepairable. Following the last engineer visit I called Smeg Head Office and complained about the situation and was told they would look into replacing this machine. I have since received an email saying that as I have not provided at proof of purchase they can't help me. This is ridiculous as they had the original receipt when they replaced last time. I have now spoken with Domex and unsurprisingly even thought the part was ordered from Italy 2 days ago there is no information on a delivery time. So after 6 weeks I still don't know when - or if this dishwasher will be usable. Appalling customer service. Do not purchase Smeg products.

Run for your life

I can’t take this anymore. You spend a fortune (200 euros) on a water Boiler that you think is of good quality because the website says “high quality.” Then, while boiling water, you notice particles floating in the boiled water, which have dissolved from the inner surface of the kettle. I wouldn’t have any problem with this if I had bought a cheap kettle for 20 euros. But you spend a fortune, and then you realize you’ve been ripped off. Here is a picture of the filtered water, where you can see the floating particles. And you can be sure that if you see such larger particles, there are also smaller ones that you swallow and that remain in your body. I say this as a doctor with a university degree. And then we wonder why cancer rates have risen so high when we’re drinking aluminum from even boiled water—pathetic.

AWFUL

AWFUL! Avoid this company at all costs. I ignored the negative reviews and I regret it so much. I had a range delivered two weeks ago that does not work. Over a week ago I contacted SMEG customer service and they said they would send my request to a servicer. I waited a few days and when I didn't hear anything back I called again. They said that a service company (Goodman Home Services) had accepted my job and that I should be hearing from them soon but that I could reach out to them to try to get on their schedule sooner. I called Goodman Home Services and they said they did not have a request in my name. I called back to SMEG and was brushed off and told Goodman had accepted my ticket and to wait longer. I waited 3 more days and called Goodman again only to be told they still did not have a request in my name and also that they don't even service my zip code. For a range that was over $2000 you would think customer service might better. So at this point I have owned a range for two weeks that I can't use and I can't make dinners for my daughter.

Happy customer!!…

I bought a SMEG BCC bean to cup coffee machine from CURRYS 2nd January. After setting it up days later it didn’t work efficiently. I phoned CURRYS who gave me a lot of back and forth talk.
I decided to speak to SMEG directly, who put me through to MIKE in the small appliance department.
He was so patient listening to my description of the fault, and spoke to me with the steps to rectify the issue. With his time and patience it was resolved easily. He also sent me a link to follow.
So this is just to say a Great Big Thank you!!! to you.
From a very happy coffee consumer!!

A disheartening disappointment.

If I could leave less than one star for a review, this would be the right occasion! Not only does Smeg not respond to emails, but when they do, they are rude and obnoxious. They gaslight you into thinking you're at fault and that it's your problem that they didn't deliver the product on time. With a product purchased in November, a failed delivery in December, and an agreement via email for a precise delivery date of January 7th – not only did we not receive the product, but they don't respond to our repeated emails to understand what's going on. A disheartening disappointment. We had issues with the oven and the stove as well, but we thought it was related to delivery problems during the pandemic. I’m afraid it’s because they simply don’t know how to manage products and customers. I regret falling for it again. If I weren't afraid they wouldn't respond at all, I would ask for a full refund and go with other brands. I can’t believe I abandoned my trusty Illy machine for this.

Don't buy Smeg

Run away as fast as you can!! We bought a Smeg induction range a few months ago and the customer service couldn't be worse. I am advising all my family and friends to stay as far away from Smeg products as possible.

I don't think I've ever had such bad customer service. I only had a few questions and the assistance I got was a text message with a picture of a page of the instruction booklet that I already had. The reason I was calling was because my questions were not addressed in the booklet.

Also, the instruction booklet is badly written and some of the instructions are incorrect. Needless to say, I've called and never had any assistance in resolving our issues/questions.
