Stayed at the Christina, Alp D'huez , hotel from the 18-25th of January. 5th time visiting the Alps and I have to say that it was by far the most enjoyable. We got an excellent services (food was incredible!) and everyone from the hotel staff were super polite. It felt that we where talking to people from our own group of friends and not staff and on numerous occasions they went beyond the "call of duty" to ensure we get the services we wanted (e.g. I broke my hand in the trip and was taken to hospital by one of the managers there Richard, cheers mate!).
Special thanks to Alex, Kathryn and Jezz for making our stay wonderful :).
They really made our Christmas special. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They cooked lovely meals. They were very tolerant of 5 excited little children and let them join in where they could, decorating the tree etc. The Christmas dinner was exceptional. my only quibble with the food was that Skifrance did not make a vegetable allowance for the children and they eat a lot of veg. the top of the chalet was cold considering the cosiness of it, but conditions were very cold outside.
The transfer was reasonable considering the airport was a little way away.
This is the start of the season and so one can expect some teething / start-up problems, however the maintenance of the property was not great. Grout in the bathroom was disgusting with many broken tiles and not properly clean under the radiator. When we arrived on Saturday the light over the mirror was not working - replaced on Thursday, the light outside the bathroom did not work - replaced the same day, the light over one of the beds was intermittent and then fell off the wall leaving exposed wires - I reattached it but do not know if it was ever fixed. The central heating did not work (the main system needed topping up as there was insufficient water pressure to reach the tope floor - I did explain what was the problem, however it was not fixed until Tuesday). We only had floor towels in the bathroom and no soaps or shampoos - fixed Monday. The ski locker under the hotel had a broken keypad lock and so each time we had to go to reception, get the key to the chain and padlock, unlock the locker and then return the key. The WiFi did not work as the hotel was waiting for a replacement router which still had not arrived by the time we left - the only WiFi was to piggyback off the bar underneath the hotel. The balcony windows did not look as if they were double glazed? Finally, the hot breakfast which was due at 08:10 every morning was seldom on time.
Positives - the food was good, the wine plentiful and the staff were very friendly and always helpful. The Xmas dinner was exceptional and turned round the holiday to an overall positive for us.
We booked in June into what the head office staff assured us was the best chalet in Alpe d'Huez. However at the last moment we were de-camped to another chalet (and also place and time of flights were changed).
In fact, the "rabbit hutch" wasn't too bad - better than budget, but certainly not luxurious.
The holiday was saved by our having two good chalet girls - Phoebe and Scarlett.
Tip: print and take with you all invoices, correspondence and relevant information on the website. What head office promise you isn't passed on to staff in the resort.
Be aware that Altiport is quite a trudge up from the town.

The whole booking process adding ski carriage at a later date went perfectly. The chalet Christina staff worked incredibly hard to give us a great Christmas. Location was ideal, the snow came so everyone was happy. Staff always were helpful from helping us to set up our mobile wifi, to even letting me have the turkey leg at the Christmas dinner. Good luck for the rest of the season.

We had a great time at Hotel Olympic in Courchevel 1850 over New Year. The Hotel was just fine, clean and in a fantastic central location. The rooms are relatively basic, but have everything you need for a week in the snow including en suite bathroom and separate toilet and we were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay all the more enjoyable.
We did not have much contact with Ski France at all, save for the booking process and transfers to and from the airport, which were as per usual lengthy with the usual french coach driver breaks etc. There was no Ski France rep in resort during our stay.
