NEVER USE SITEBUILDER
I don't usually write reviews about anything but this company has given me headaches too many times. Their customer service is horrible, they basically use an overseas call center with people that have different accents. Also their email support is atrocious, they don't even do what you ask them to! I tried to cancel my account and all they did was try to give me free 3 months and extra add-ons for more money. I tried to take off my debit card from the billing and payments but they couldn't even do that completely. I'm sick and tired of SiteBuilder and this website should be taken down! If a customer has to ask MULTIPLE times for their personal credit/debit card information to be taken down then that's just plain fraud! I hate this company and I want everyone to know about this review. DO NOT USE SITEBUILDER. It's not worth your time or money. Whoever made this website you can go f*** yourself. Either I'm gonna get a petition to get your website removed or actually get some customer service.
Worst Company I Have Ever Dealt With
These people are scam artists. They will take your money and do nothing for you, this site is a giant scam. They will not return emails if there is anything negative. Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit currently going on?
Website down for over a month!
I joined Sitebuilder last June, have stayed with them for one year and boy, do I regret it!
They automatically renewed my subscription and billed me out of the blue in June this year for the following year's subscription fee - £143.14 - which is an extortionate amount in itself - just under £12 a month - without any consultation whatsoever.
That would be bad enough in itself, but I discovered recently that my website has been inactive since 19 June, the renewal date!
I am fortunate that I do not rely completely on my website for new business and sales, and which is perhaps why I didn't notice it had been down for so long. However, to pay so much for a 'service' that has not been rendered is little short of theft.
I have written a very strongly worded email to them demanding immediate refund of the subscription fee £143.14 and closure of my account. I have only just sent this email but judging by what I have read from other reviewer's experiences, I am not holding my breath for any speedy or straightforward resolution.
A completely shambolic, incompetent and almost fraudulent company.
I am waiting to hear what sitebuilder have to say and have sent this review to them. If they fail to respond satisfactorily to my demands, I will consider the possibility of legal action.
Site Renewed but had to wait 24-48 hrs
Horrible renewal policy. Here's what happened to us: We are on auto pay. SO the company withdrew the funds, paypal sent us the receipt. Everything seemed fine. Then Monday rolled around. See, the thing is, our site renewed on a weekend. There are no techs working on the weekend. Our site went down along with our email.
When we figured out what was going on, we called (no live tech support) and spoke to billing. Yes, they had received out funds and the site was "active" but would take 24-48 hours to come back online. What!?!?! For any business, large or small, this is a huge hit. A death sentence for some. We're in the process of closing a huge deal and no access to anything. If anyone tried to look us up - we're nowhere to be found. Just a hold page in place of our site.
My wife called and they were going to "do us the favor" of expediting it, even though its not something they're allowed to do.
I called and spoke to a third person (my wife spoke to a rep and supervisor). He is the one that explained the weekend issue. I asked if this is standard practice, he said yes for any renewal over the weekend. I asked if they know this is happening, why wouldn't they auto renew during the week before so that this can be avoided. His response, "That's a good idea." Wow! Please, if this review makes it to your screen, seriously consider the consequences of dealing with this company. The only thing technical about this company is how they will screw your business.
We are currently looking to transfer our domain and hosting to another service.
They deleted a years worth of emails!!!!!
DO NOT USE THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY
I transferred to a new provider as Sitebuilder are useless, so before waiting until the transfer was complete they deleted all services immediately, deleting my email account and losing almost a years worth of contacts and emails.
They wont give me a route to complain, or give me any managers details. they are now ignoring me and wont accept any responsibility, even though I have proof of all emails showing I was misinformed.
I have been advised to speak to a solicitor regarding compensation of losing almost a years work. As it is negligence.
In the mean time I will let everybody know about them
Site Builder - Worst Hosting ever
Guys, I had my domain with Sitebuilder and because of their lack of technical expertise my business is gone to stand still. An absolute joke. DO NOT TOUCH THEM!!!
Horrible Customer Service. Non-communicative. Aloof "Tech Support"
We are a startup marketing & consulting agency. Early December 2016 three of our paid business emails that we use on SiteBuilder.com's platform became "suspended". After contacting Billing Support we were told that all of our invoices were paid and up-to-date and that emails should be up and running, and even offered a refund. Then, we contacted "Tech Support" and they said we owed. So we paid the $15. Emails still inaccessible and still showing up as "suspended". Later we call and are told there is a system-wide problem and ALL emails are down temporarily. It has been weeks. We can't even log into the account to LOOK at emails. All of our work is trapped in these email boxes. Every time we speak to a "tech" person they offer no resolution. One said that we can reactivate the emails but all former messages will be lost. This is unacceptable. Emails have been down for ongoing two weeks. We cannot even measure how many BOUNCED emails our current and potential clients have received while trying to get a hold of us. We cannot measure how much BUSINESS we've lost because of this. And no one there has any resolutions or information, just "we're working on it ASAP". It's ridiculous. I'm questioning how real of a company they are. They should be offering refunds left and right.
We have since created accounts using G-Suite (Google's business email provider) and it is WAAAY cheaper ($5/month) plus you can create multiple email addresses and it's WAY more secure, stable, and just a better product overall. We thought. It's just a good idea to keep your website host and email provider separate. We're also going to be leaving SiteBuilder hosting eventually for Wix.com. We use them anyway for our clients.
Horrible Company. Please DO NOT sign up.
Site Builder seemed very promising when I initially signed up. I ran into some problems and contacted Tech Support through email. It took them a few days to reply and when I emailed back, another few days to reply. I then had some live chats, called a few times (not only is it hard to find their number online, but they have NO phone tech support, only billing support). This has taken weeks to handle and it has been a huge hassle, wouldn't wish it for anybody. Finally, when I decided to cancel my account, I had to go through at least 3 people to cancel and they don't make it easy for you at all. The people that I spoke to on the phone were foreign, very polite and considerate. Their site has potential to be great but unfortunately their almost non existent customer service ruins it.
Fraud and scams is all this company does
Experience with Site-builder has been a nightmare. The language in their offer is twisted and confusing that customer doesn't know what he has signed up for until they receive the bill. For example, they sent you an email saying they are offering annual service for hosting your website and pro plan for $1 a month rather than regular $9.99. In the terms and conditions they will mention that this offer is valid for new users for the initial term. No one except site-builder knows that although you signed up for service for 1 year your initial term is not a year but just a month. And you will start seeing charges of 9.99 on your card from the next month onwards. Also, there customer service is a joke. I don't know if they themselves know their billing system or not. After I spoke with a customer service agent they offered me if I go for annual subscription they will adjust my current months subscription in the final cost. And although the invoice lists the adjustment, when you go to pay it the billing system asks you to pay the full amount without adjustment. I tried explaining it to the customer service, but they don't seem to get it. Customer service keeps saying that I need to pay the adjusted amount, but on the payment page the only option I get to pay is pay the full amount. Finally I gave up rather than wasting my time explaining them the 5th time. Total waste of time, effort and money, No site-builder ever again.
Absolutely Horrific Experience
I set up a site here. I had auto pay annually for my site fees but they sent me invoices again to pay so I paid manually (they already knew they were being paid on auto as well) so they took 2 payments one I did manually and one on auto. They dodgily put both transactions from different company names (hoping it wouldn't be noticed?). I've built a huge business following on my website and the quality of the work done is expensive & second to none. They cancelled my website without telling me. When I called and spoke to the most senior person there Avinash on the Australian phone number, they said (even though it was their error charging me twice) that my website can never be restored, it's cancelled because when I disputed the charge I became a risk. I have a Huffington post article tomorrow & an embarrassing web message saying I've been cancelled -again remembering it's their error, they charged me twice. That my friends, is the biggest con of all. But if I want to pay for a new website I'm sure they're all ears! I'm going to have a Huffington Post article published about this, this week, unless it's resolved.
SITEBUILDER.com A SCAM COMPANY
I got them to change the hosting to my hostgator account, they did it and i was able to access the website through my hosting for awhile (less than 1 hour) then all the problems surfaced.
I kept getting the 404 errors and realized that sitebuilder is hosting the domain again! I spoke to their customer support and they told me it requires 24 hrs to 48hrs for the hosting to be stable. What logical.
I asked for a refund and transfer of domain; they helped me do the transfer but they misrepresent the whole process. They mentioned the transfer is free and immediate but it was not.
As for the refund... their support just LEFT THE CHAT whenever i asked for the refund. IT HAPPENED more than 5 times. IF THEY ARE NOT A SCAM COMPANY, WHY WILL THEY AVOID THE SUBJECT OF A REFUND.
TERRIBLE.
Terrible Customer Service refunds take 10 DAYS!
Not happy at all. I accidentally clicked the the wrong option and they took $120.00 immediately from my account. I contacted them immediately within minutes of the mistake. Now I to wait 10 days for my refund. What? I explained that I really need this money for groceries and spoke with someone who could not speak English hardly at all and WOULD NOT let me speak with his manager. I asked at least 5 times and he refused to let me. I asked for his name and he hesitated quite a bit. I need my money and they could care less.
Horrible Customer Service
Everything on here about how horrible Sitebuilder.com's customer service is, is 100% accurate. In fact, they have no customer service to speak of. We paid for Site Builder to allow our domain, but they would never bring up the domain. They take your money, and provide no service. Stay away from these people, far away. If you are looking for a legitimate domain provider, keep looking.
Avoid at all cost!
A friend contacted me to help with their website design! At first, everything sounded great about their service when she called them and spoke to one of their representative but unfortunately, it was not that great! actually, it was plain horrible.
Using their tool to design the website was difficult and not as easy, for someone who is a newbie, as she was led to believe by the sales rep when she first time called. She was not told that if she needed an email, she will have to pay $9.95/mailbox (First mailbox is Free (5GB max) with a free forwarding addresses (with POP/MAP and Webmail) ).
Their support! It is the worst!!! Actually, there is no customer support telephone number except for sales and billing (go figure - they want to take your money as soon as possible and they make it very easy but when it comes to support, you have to either check their poor knowledge base, or email them (a response to your support email will take days, so don't bother). But when they respond, expect to get more unnecessary, or unrelated questions from them, and this will continue for days.
Search engine optimization - OK, they give you a so called SEO eBook but it is an Add-on (will cost you - I did not bother to check because there is no price listed before you click on the 'Add' button afraid I might get charge an enormous amount)
Templates - When you are in the back end, you will see some template but the images are of so poor quality, I just didn't see any need to go through them.
Don't believe me? Just think of a domain name that you won't need and give them a shut! What have you got to loose? With them, I am not sure!
Transferring your domain - If you decide to transfer your domain name from SiteBuilder.com - Good luck with that (yes I tried and I am still trying). The 'Privacy Protection' showed Unprotected, meaning that it was not enabled but when I tried to transfer the domain, It showed that it was protected, and the admin email listed was not mine, so I can't transfer the domain unless I get a response from the email I sent to disable the privacy, change the admin email to the one I use when I registered, and provide me with an EPP code.
So before you jump in, do you research and check unbiased reviews about SiteBuilder.com. If not sure, just use something you don't need for a domain name and give them try, then try to contact their support with any support question you would contact support of a well trusted hosting/web design company.
DONT DO IT !!!!!!!
Signed up for a 1 dollar deal and free domain name and got charged 29 dollars for site lock which I never selected. I started working with the web builder and it wasn't straight forward. I got billed for proplan for June and its not even June. I called to cancel my services and asked for refund for site lock and they said they couldn't. I asked for my refund of 9.99 for pro plan for June and they said they needed it to cover the domain name services of 15.99. I wouldn't waist my money on this company. In fact I think they should be sued.
HORRIBLE
SiteBuilder is by far the worst company I have ever made business with.
Their customer service is AWFUL.
So do yourself a favor and stay away from them.
Satisfied Customer
I saw this site after I started using Sitebuilder and I'm glad I did. I am managing four different sites with Sitebuilder and couldn't be happier. I've used 1and1.com Website BuilderPlus and it doesn't come close. My sites are actually hosted with 1and1.com. Sitebuilder.com is flexible and easy to use. Having stated that, the Help section is very poor. It is clearly put together by an analyst or programmer and it didn't go through end-user testing. Descriptions and overviews are sparse at best or non-existent. This is the main reason they only get 4 stars. I had some initial challenges with billing, but they were corrected quickly and with a live person. One thing they should consider is adding help/training videos covering various topics like building a blog or creating an email (1and1.com does this well). Sitebuilder has a lot of nice features that can be easily overlooked, but would be great for the novice or an experienced web designer. My overall experience has been positive. I would recommend Sitebuilder to an associate or friend.
Crooks! It's a Scam
This company are scammers. They get your credit card details by offering a "free 14 day trial" or your money back. It's not free and you don't get your money back if you ask for it within the 14 days. I was charged £366 GBP on the basis of said free trial. When I contacted them - as soon as I saw massive payments on my credit card - they sent me 2 free rubbish e books. By my 3rd polite e mail they stopped responding & stated that they will continue to charge me monthly. I had to cancel my credit card of 30 years and still have no web site.
Incidentally, the templates they offer are very mediocre, you can get better ones completely free on Wordpress.
Don't use SiteBuilder unless you have money to burn, time to waste and very low blood pressure.
Sitebuilder added a product I didn't order to my invoice and refused to refund even though I notified them within minutes
Yesterday, May 4, 2016, I ordered my first two years of web-hosting from Sitebuilder. I declined all other services and offers. As soon as I entered my debit card info, the invoice appeared and listed "Sitelock" for $29.95, which is an add-on I had declined. There was no "Review Order" screen to enable me to see what they would charge me before they did charge me.
I immediately sent an email to the address they list in case of invoicing errors. They responded that they don't give refunds for Add-on services and cited their terms and conditions (obviously prepared for this scam). I've sent them six emails telling them it was their error. I also filed a complaint with BBB and sent them a copy. I'm going to notify my bank to cancel the whole deal.
I'm sure many customers give up and pay, but I won't. There's a class-action and FTC lawsuit in their future.

Rip off company
Web .com has many names they use to charge your accounts.
Site builders, Stelio, web .com. They charged my bank account $299.28. I have never spoken to this company. Last year I inquired about web.com. But decided to go with my Facebook page instead. Sitelio out of the U.K. went through PayPal to charge my bank card. I turned this into the bank and PayPal for investigation for unauthorized use of my name and my information. The bank has put the money back into my account through the the investigation. Web.com, Sitebuilder.com. Sitelio.com will rip you off if you even inquire. They scout PayPal until they find if you have a account and charge it. Web.com will sell your name to other company's even if you inquire with them. Scammers is what they are. Your name will generate revenue for these company's selling your name to other company's.
