Absolutely delighted with Vickers Street storage site
I have leased a unit for over 6 years on Vickers Street in Colorado Springs. The staff is extremely respectful, gracious and simply said... outstanding. I appreciated their attention to keeping the site clean and well monitored. Even though I was an end unit, there was so little dust that had come into the unit over a 6 year period! I was astounded and very much delighted that my storage boxes didn’t have dust on it. Units are well designed & staffing keeps common areas immaculate.
Excellent and experienced staffing makes this location rate above all others. Thank you for hiring the best people. I was always greeted with a smile.

BEWARE OF THIS OPERATION AND IT…
BEWARE OF THIS OPERATION AND IT SPECIALS.. The special I’m referring to is the 1st free month. The month is NOT FREE AT ALL! I booked my storage bin back in September 2021. I booked online with one of the customer service rep. I needed a 10x10, I told him I needed it for October 23,2021 He stated that I was able to get one free month rent with a confirmed reservation. Meaning paid the admin fee and lock in the storage bin. I did just that confirming that I would not need the unit until October. He confirmed and stated that my free month would be for Oct/Nov and my first payment would be some time in Nov. Okay sounds good right.. NO I get and email from the property saying that my rent is late and my first payment is due on on October 28th.. MIND YOU I JUST MOVE IN 6 days ago. I call thinking it was a mistake spoke with the Property Manager Jennifer who was at the least NOT HELPFUL. All she kept saying was the bin couldn’t be rented out for September so that was my FREE MONTH. What?? Makes NO SENSE I didn’t have ACCESS TO THE UNIT UNTIL OCTOBER 23rd..Right!! She offer not the minimal customer service for a NEW customer. NO CUSTOMER RETENTION. SKILLS AT ALL.. She just wanted the payment. I asked to speak with a Supervisor and she told me she was it. I asked did she think that this was good customer service. Again all she wanted was the payment. So I politely hung up with her and call the Corporate.. STANDBY ILL UPDATE YALL ONCE THE SUPERVISOR OF SECURCARE SELF STORAGE CALLS ME BACK..
rat infested…
I filed a insurance claim for rat infestation,,and my lease was terminated,,WOW,,
Stay away
Had a unit reserved but they failed to tell me it was located in a basement and that it leaked. Then they try to give you another unit that is half the size for the same cost
My valuables had water damage
My valuables had water damage. They refuse to pay. I sent photos of the damages , which anyone with eyes could see was water . I do not recommend using them. I paid over $18,000.00 to them over 2 years, yet they became mute about the $2,000.00 insurance coverage I was due because of their un-kept units. Please try to rent with a smaller less robot corp. storage if you need storage,. Secure storage raises prices, and have enough clauses where they never have to pay for their nelect of your valuables. Hopefully a class action law suit will be filed agaist them soon.
If I could give them zero stars
If I could give them zero stars, I would. They are rude and disorganized and will increase your rates without telling you. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Poor Customer Service @ Sherron road location.
I currently pay for a 5*10 (planned on upgrading after we get our new couch in couple weeks) unit off of sherron road in Durham NC 27703 so we can store things we no longer have room for due to needing to accommodate what we needed for our new baby. I had explained to their staff more than once that I generally work 60-70 hours a week on top of being responsible for a baby and I don't have time to communicate outside of necessity. It took me two weeks just to use the unit after paying for it because I didn't have time to move things down the street. They don't really care. "Oh you need your phone AND email for work? Let us email and call you to remind you that you're late 2 days before you'll owe a late fee" I brought it to their attention that putting out accurate/timely info is probably in everyone's best interest and was emailed again with nothing helpful at all in the email.'if you don't want notifications, unsubscribe' is basically what I got which is odd considering I didn't actually complain about the notifications themselves. Clearly a defensive/assumptive response. Just someone looking to argue and defend what doesn't need to be defended. When I walked in there on a weekend day(when most ppl are probably accessing their units) they were dead and the lady at the counter was literally just sitting there doing absolutely nothing. (Not a knock on her. just a reality)They are absolutely not busy enough to warrant not understanding the critical distincton between customer and employee that's employed to provide exclusively customer service. Will be changing storage locations when I have time over this singular interaction. Won't mind a slightly further drive to not be hassled by people who care even less than I/you
do about keeping your business. A positive interaction versus a negative interaction is the difference between figuring out how to pay my unit off for the year so I don't have to be bothered versus taking my business elsewhere. Closed mouths don't get fed so if you're waiting until the last minute to remind people to pay, that doesn't seem like a courtesy or a genuine attempt to collect a debt, it seems borderline predatory. Banking on people not seeing an email in time or not answering their phones in the middle of a work day(imagine that) so they can charge you an extra 15 dollars.
I don't recommend them
Wow, I wasn't going to say anything until she called - just now - and left a message that my mom told her I was finished with the unit so I needed to drop off the key. Umm, my mom PASSED AWAY in January 2000. Low blow, guys.
Anyway, here's the story up to now - I lost my key during a move a year ago and didn't have much in the unit anyway so I gave them permission to cut the lock (she said I wasn't allowed to cut it off myself, so okay whatever) and leave the 2-3 things in there by the dumpster and close out my account. She flat out refused. Now she's running up my bill. The unit was supposed to have gone to auction a while back then it mysteriously didn't happen AND she's still billing me and harassing me and my family members. I don't know what she hopes to accomplish because I'm on disability.
As a person with prior storage management experience I'm not even sure if what she's doing is legal. That lock should have been cut and the contents either disposed of (or auctioned) a while back. Either way, you can't squeeze water from a rock. If you're looking for storage definitely DON'T go here. My washer is rusty and I had to toss a bunch of personal items after using them, and now this. (hey Securcare, if you speak to my mom again, tell her she's sorely missed down here on earth, please!)

Quite expensive for the storage they provide not good enough quality
I would never use this place they are…
I would never use this place they are crooks and are ridiculous they are very unprofessional when talking with the man in office had a very snotty attitude. Not to mention after purchasing the storage space the man did not even give us the full gate code on the business card. Which we did not know and when we went to use the code to get out after finding out they sold our storage space on us. we could not even get out. When calling the receptionist from the card to express our frustrations about the gate code we found out they sold the space on us then hung up on me because I got upset. They never issued a refund nor have they did anything to fix the problem. It is still unresolved and it is probably going on a year now. I would never recommend them to anyone. Not to mention it looks like they are housing homeless an tweakers in them.
Unhappy
If I Could, I would give less than a star. 1st month I was told that I get half of month free. Nope, they tacked on a $24 admin Fee and a $9 mandatory insurance charge. There goes my so called half a month free. Within a few months they raised my rates. Another few months they raised my rates again. There's nothing in the contract about how often they raise the rates. Rats and mice running all over the place, hence the boxes all around the buildings. I hardly ever opened the door, my stuff was dusty and very dirty. The office personnel is very rude every single time I have to go there. Come the day of move out, they try to charge me 30 more days.
Rat infested properties
I’ve stored at several locations and each one is crawling with bugs and rats. Other people will bring in their roach infested furniture and leave it to allow the critters to be free. The company only sprays the outside of the door to the units and the insurance does not cover any type of rodent or bug infestation. It’s store at your own risk.
The people that work at this facility…
The people that work at this facility have always provided excellent customer service.
They were very accommodating to me.
Horrible place
Horrible place! Our storage unit has been broken into twice in 2 years. Their gates are not secure and there are several broken fence panels. There is even a large opening next to the gate. There are limited security cameras and the isle our unit is in has zero. This place is NOT secure, as their name suggests.
I would give this place a -5 stars if…
I would give this place a -5 stars if possible. One of the worst managed businesses and units in the country. A horrible place to store your belongings in and an even worse corporation. They used to be good about 20 years ago but they have gone down hill since. They rented a unit across from mine to a criminal. This person cut the $5.00 CHEAP hasp that was on the door, (they had to because I had a $150.00 lock on the unit), broke into my unit as well as other units in the complex and in other units in neighboring cities..How do I know you might ask? Well I found mail, belongings and junk with addresses on it that this person had thrown into my unit. When calling the corporation, they are no where to be found...just a telephone number and no people. Customer service is there and when I told them that the units were broken into, they just ignored the situation. I asked not to pay for the month, they said they could not do that. I asked them to have the person arrested since he was caught on video, they would not do that.
The manager saw the man coming inside the yard, and tried to break into his own unit which was locked and the manager just watched him and laughed.
When I called the police, they said they could do nothing if the video did not show the person actually breaking into the unit. So basically the storage people will not do anything about criminals and so the criminal walks away free and clear with what ever they got.
Secure care storage.....is not secure. They do not care about you, your stuff or anything else....Stay away, and if you are there, move out quickly as the area manager said that this is happening to all their units....Duh.
You do not need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that if they allow people to break in a steal your stuff, others will get in on it as well.
The only storage facility I’ll use.
Friendly staff, storage grounds always kept clean and free of snow, quick to return calls. I’ve had multiple storage units at any given time at the Avon, Indiana location for around 6,7,8 years because of the staff. I’ve had to turn off or renew my banking card numerous times throughout the years and have forgotten to contact them but when there’s ever an issue with my payment, Melissa calls me to let me know if there’s a problem BEFORE I’m late. She makes me feel like a valued customer for my years of loyalty. A lot of other storage facilities would happily wait for me to be late and charge a ridiculous late fee. The reason I’ve stayed with them is because of things like this that make me feel like my business is appreciated. She remembers my name when I come in and even remembers my storage unit numbers when I can’t. Like I said, I’ve been there for years, renting multiple units at a time. I’ve moved to Indianapolis and emptied out my units this past summer but I love not having to store my seasonal things on my property so I’ll be renting another unit at that site. I have probably 15-20 storage businesses available closer to me but I trust the Avon store and appreciate the staff. Especially Melissa, who’s been there longer than I have. She is the backbone of that place.
The manager at this facility is very…
The manager at this facility is very polite and professional. Got me in and out quickly. The only feedback I have is for the call center, when renting units, a better knowledge of the facility would be helpful. I unknowingly rented a space that was unmarked so when I arrived after hours I spent an hour trying to find it.
The customer service provided by Ms. Sharon and others
The customer service provided by Ms. Sharon and other staff is awesome! The prices are good as well.
We were never able to use our storage…
We were never able to use our storage unit due to gate would never open. Reported to office staff several times and gate still would not open. Weekend manager on call even gave us their corporate code and the gate still would not work. We decided we would find another place that wouldn't have these barriers. During check out, the office person figured out,(supposedly)what was causing the gate not to work. However, when we complained before, we were told that the gate frequently has issues. We spent 3 months of storage rent for a unit that we could never use. Hope you fix this for other people.
