Terrible customer service and misleading practices – Avoid Seats and Sofas Heerlen
I had a very disappointing experience at the Seats and Sofas store in Heerlen. We purchased a sofa directly from their in-store stock, with no custom order or modifications requested. The next day, before even picking up the item, we needed to cancel the purchase.
We were forced to pay a 50% cancellation fee for an item that never left their warehouse. The contract terms regarding cancellations are unclear and misleading, and we were never verbally informed about these strict clauses at the time of purchase.
To make matters worse, the employee handling our case admitted she had only been working there for a few months and didn't even know the company policy properly. She wrongly claimed that 50% is "always" the fee for stock items and 30% for custom ones. She tried calling a colleague to clarify, but nobody answered, so she simply defaulted to taking 50%.
On top of the policy confusion, her attitude was extremely rude and condescending. After watching us use our phones to translate their Dutch contract, she mockingly asked if we "had a phone with internet" to send an email.
Retaining 50% of the price for a stock item that suffered zero logistical damage is unreasonable, but treating customers with disrespect is unacceptable. I do not recommend this store.

Do not buy from them!
By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am giving one star since less it’s not possible.
I spent €1,000 on a brand-new sofa, yet from the moment I collected it, everything went wrong.
The sofa had obvious manufacturing defects, and instead of replacing it or taking responsibility, I was initially told to assemble a defective product before anyone would help me. This is simply unacceptable.
After countless phone calls, emails and several trips to the store, the defective part was finally collected. Because the repair could take from 8 up to 14 weeks (!!!), I was promised a clean loan couch. What arrived at my home was dirty, stained, smelly and completely unhygienic. I refused to accept it and immediately sent it back.
After posting my complaint, I was contacted again by Customer Service. Unfortunately, the conversation only made the situation worse. The representative was dismissive, showed no understanding of the inconvenience I have experienced and offered no willingness to find a satisfactory solution. Instead of feeling supported, I felt like my concerns were being ignored.
What shocks me the most is not even the defective sofa—manufacturing issues can happen. The real problem is the complete lack of customer care. Every time I contacted the store, I was referred to the Service Department, while the Service Department repeatedly failed to address the actual issues with my sofa and dismissed my concerns, even denying the poor hygienic condition of the loan couch despite the evidence provided.
As a customer who spent €1,000, I expected a quality product and professional after-sales service.
A company is judged not by the mistakes it makes, but by how it treats its customers when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, Seats and Sofas has completely failed in that respect.
I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Wat vinden wij het ontzettend jammer dat uw ervaring met ons uiteindelijk heeft geleid tot deze review. In dit dossier zijn wij op meerdere momenten tekortgeschoten en daarvoor willen wij u oprecht onze excuses aanbieden. We begrijpen dat de situatie rondom uw nieuwe bank, de defecte onderdelen en de leenbank veel frustratie en ongemak voor u heeft veroorzaakt.
Het is dan ook extra zonde dat wij er niet eerder in zijn geslaagd om dit naar uw tevredenheid op te lossen. Gelukkig hebben we inmiddels persoonlijk contact gehad en hebben we samen een passende oplossing kunnen vinden. We zijn blij dat we het dossier nu naar wens met u kunnen afronden en zullen dit uiteraard netjes voor u afhandelen.
Nogmaals onze oprechte excuses voor de manier waarop dit traject is verlopen en bedankt dat u ons de gelegenheid heeft gegeven om het alsnog naar tevredenheid op te lossen. Mocht u nog vragen hebben, dan staan wij voor u klaar.

I liked the store
I liked the store. They have a very large and varied selection of sofas. The managers are very friendly and professional. They help with all the nuances and questions when choosing a sofa model. I ordered a sofa and am now waiting for it to be ready.

We have a nice time here. We got a kindly help from Hafsa. She was very patient to us during our hard decision. Also we got some extra discount which made us more happy! Only negative that the sofa does n9t have warranty because we got it with more then 50% discount.
