This is the second suite I've bought from SCS and have been happy throughout.
Delivery service was excellent. Phone call received an hour before to let me know when they would arrive. They arrived, gave me the paperwork and care kit to put to one side, checked to see what was going where and the furniture was unloaded off the van and unpacked outside as the weather was good then brought in and assembled. All packaging was folded away and put pack on the van.
As the furniture was assembled I was given an explanation in case I ever want to move it. I was asked to check over each piece as it was assembled and test it to make sure I was happy with everything.
The men were courteous, helpful and considerate throughout and did the job swiftly; they were clearly quite experienced.
The paperwork was explained, signed and off they went. Very pleasant men.

Absolutely shocking customer service.
After buying carpets from scs we had to constantly chase them up for fitting dates. After months of changing appointment times because all their staff seem to constantly be sick onong term illness, which Is probably a go to line for "we've messed up again". We finally had some of our carpets fitted a week or so before Christmas after having no carpet for months because we had to rip it up for our initial fitting date. However the stairs couldn't get done because the fitter wasn't informed of the job that needed doing. We were then told that the serveyor said it was a bespoke fit etc etc. However when I saw the serveyor he told us it was all a complete lie from management and he never said that. Going on several months now and the stairs aren't done and according to the store it's not their issue once the carpets are sold and according to aftercare they can't give us a refund because its the stores that sold it. Who do I speak to next? No one seems to know. I've received obe helpful bit of advice from a individual at aftercare to say I need to email them more details however I haven't received any confirmation of any sort. I've had too many issues to even post them on here.

I won't be buying off scs again and I'm going to go to as many review websites as possible to explain how bad it is. Hopefully I'll save someone some time and money.

Buyers beware!!
Bought a 3 piece suite recently from SCS in Chester, the salesman promised free this and that and when we signed and paid for the suite we were handed over to another salesman who denied all knowledge any agreements - but that is for another time, the main issue was the 3 piece delivered.
The 3 piece duly arrived and was assembled by the technicians, cosmetically it was faulty with large gaps in the drapes apparent in the backs of each item.
When we complained ScS they sent out an agent who played around with one of the units and took some pictures, later ScS got back to us to indicate nothing was wrong with the items.
We took the case to ADR, supposedly an indepent arbitrator, their investigation supported ScS's view that there was nothing wrong with the items.
We demanded to see the photos and explanation from ScS that supported their case and low and behold the agent had told lies, doctored pictures and sent photos of two tottally different items.
They also explained to 'ADR' that some final dressing was required on furniture items, however no one ever came back to address that problem.
In summary do not trust ScS and do not assume that 'ADR' are as independant as they make out

sorry there is no point in phoning your customer services again as I had to pay somebody else to fix the zips all scs sis was send out a third party that quoted me 200 pounds to fix three zips what a joke beware if buying from scs customer service after purchase is non existent also quality of sofa does not match the price....so please don't reply again saying to phone your customer team as your a little late.

Worst company I’ve ever dealt with!
I cannot believe this company is still standing... I ordered a corner sofa in December 2017, told I would receive in 10 weeks. Arrived end of February... totally the wrong corner.. no apologies from Scs Milton Keynes, no phone calls and certainly no rush to fix things. I had also taken out finance with the company. I was told the first payment would be taken after 30 days but Scs Milton Keynes told me it would be fine but apparently did nothing about it, so I have been getting calls, letters and text messages to say that I was behind with my payments... on something I hadn’t received yet!! The Store Manager ignored our phone calls and tried to fob us to the Assistant Manager who was equally useless... and one time used the words ‘ so if you’de like me to apologise...’ some how I don’t think that’s an apology. I work in furniture retail myself and was shocked with their after care customer service.... I have recently received my actual sofa and I expected at least some sort of apology... maybe I’m asking for too much . If I’d read the reviews before my purchase, I would have never walked through the doors. I’m not saying things don’t go wrong... but it’s how it’s dealt with. BEWARE BUYING FROM SCS MILTON KEYNES.

Terrible aftercare,no managers ever to speak too,constantly given excuses and fobbed off, rude office staff,
We had platinum 30yr garuanteed flooring fitted by there approved fitter it was fitted incorrectly causing noise when walked on,we reported this after 2 days ,door trim came up after 5 days causing a risk to our 11 month old crawling baby. Damage was caused to skirting boards,doors and paintwork and the doors they shaved down wasnt refitted correctly and wouldnt open, Eventually they sent independent inspector who confirmed installed wrong, we gave them second chance to rectify,they created an expansion gap but noise and damage to flooring joints already been done as per manufacturers report, we went back to the shop as they recommended him.
5 months to date of endlessconstantly fobbed-off with excuses. There is no aftercare dept- -only two staff in office of a supposed national company who advertise on tv!!
Managers are always in meetings with no supervisors or manager ever there to speak too apparently,
we have stated we wish to make an official complaint several times to which the office staff dont care at all and offer no help or guidence on how to do so.
All the Info was eventually passed to there area manager who didnt even have to decency to call us before trying to fob it off, (apparently the area manager doesnt speak with customers!!!)=great customer service..
i have requested there insurance details and to prove they vet there fitters to which as per usuall get we no response.
-they claim fitter is nothing to do with them however they recommended and organised it all (there get out!)

So since I last put my review up their has been a few changes. When I had no luck with the installer and SCS, I (the customer) decided to send a sample of my flooring to the manufacturer. And it turns out my flooring has manufacturing fault! I also received one call from SCS and was advised they wanted to send a surveyor out? Even though the guy they originally sent out advised me the flooring was fine and was fitted correctly! And it wasn’t, they also promised me a call back from a manager over a week ago, 1 week later no phone call!!! I get the impression, once SCS have your money the customer doesn’t matter!!! There is no aftercare, no complaints procedure, no manager to speak to. I advise anyone who is considering to buy anything from this company think twice!!!!

Stay Away from Scs Reading Brunel Retal Park Branch
I had horrendous experience of my life with Reading Brunel Retail Park Sales Manager and he was totally unprofessional and busy in Browsing his phone. Don't care customer looking for assistance in order which he has already placed for carpets.
Survey guys delayed for 3 days because of some reason. No one responded me promptly. Eventually i have asked my deposit to refund and Sales Manager behaved rudely and aggressively to me. He said i have got good prices somewhere thats why i need a refund. I said i am not liable to tell the reason. Due to bad customer services i dont want to pursue. But he is full illiterate and snatched credit card from me and refund my money and shout get the hell out of my store. I know its looks unreal but believe me i have experienced exactly the same. Store manager interrupted him but he ignored it and shout at loud to one of his staff throw him out form store. I am a Calm person so ignored him completely but wanted to save others.
i haven't listened that HARSH AND RUDEST sentence ever in my whole life.

Who is store manager at the Birstall store? Apparently nobody at scs knows. Disgusting customer service and crap carpets. My mother has had 2 both faulty and no resolution so far. Where to go from here.......
Disgusting Customer Service and After Sales Service
Please be aware when when purchasing a deep pile soft carpet.
SCS do not advise you at point of sale that these carpets have a characteristic which results in light and dark shading and over a large area it looks unsightly and these carpets are very costly. Please ask the questions and make sure you get a response in writing. They are only interested in a sale even though they are fully aware of it.
SCS have a standard letter ready to send as soon as the carpet is laid.The after sale service is disgusting and head office refuse to respond to the issue and also please make sure that the correct measurements are used I was charged for excess carpet.

My partner and I went to SCS on January 6th when we purchased a new sofa. We were told it would be a maximum of 12 weeks for delivery which we weren't surprised about as most of these furniture stores have roughly the same amount of time for delivery. We are now in May, so five months on and still no sofa! It's ludicrous! We have chased it and no one seems to know anything about a delivery date. Quite frankly it's disgraceful and we feel very cheated as they were extremely quick to take our money in the beginning. SCS need to get their act together and train their staff a lot better to have some integrity in what they do and be honest with their customers. Never again will we buy from SCS unless things change. In the meantime, our sofa better turn up soon, otherwise we will be taking this further.

Buying experience quick and easy.
Tried to change the colour of the feet 3 days later and was told I would have to go back into the shop. After pointing out that it would be an 80 mile round trip I was allowed to change it by email.
The company trying to book the delivery would only give 2 days as delivery options. Bit harsh after an 8 or 9 week wait. After booking one day and then realising I would not be able to be there tried to change the date again and was told I couldn't would have to ring the shop. The shop cancelled the delivery then booked it for the day I had initially asked for and been told they couldn't deliver on that day... Was told I could ring the shop the afternoon before on the Sunday and get an idea of whether the delivery would be morning or afternoon... But there was no answer after numerous attempts...
However......Arrived as described and delivery driver Bobby and his crew Callum couldn't have been more helpful and friendly!
We got there in the end and it's nice furniture, very happy with it...
Dishonest and TERRIBLE customer service.
We are absolutely DISGUSTED in the way that my partner and myself have been treated from SCS. We purchased 2 sofas from the Stockport branch back in January and we were lied to by the salesman twice on 2 seperate occasions about the same thing... He told us that We can change the date of the delivery whenever we like , as he knew that we were moving into a new build house that had no fixed finish date yet .
We found out he had lied 2 weeks before the sofa was due for delivery, and by then it was too late to rectify the situation and the branch just were not interested in the slightest- even though none of this problem was our fault. We were told that we should "arrange storage". Arrange storage? They should have been arranging us storage as this was absolutely not our fault at all. This was on them, yet they really didn't care.
We went to take this matter further , however when you ring customer services they put you through to the branch manager, and when I spoke to him he wasn't interested and just palmed us off with "we'll give him more training." More training??? This is a 50/60+ year old man we are talking about who has worked there for god knows how long, I highly doubt he needs more training. You cant take matters any further than the store manager so there is a seriously big flaw in SCS's customer service. Because lets face it- the store manager and the dishonest salesman that sold us our sofa are probably best buds and he isnt ever going to face the consequence of what he has done.
We won't be the first this has happened to and we certainly won't be the last. When I was explaining this situation to one of the women on the phone, she even said "I don't know why he has told you that you can change the date , we are told from management all the time not to do this". So here , clearly, you can see this is an ongoing issue where they are lying to people to get a sale, to make it look as convenient as possible, yet only to backtrack further down the line when it is too late. This has now meant that we are storing one of the Sofas in my mum and dad's back room that is already overflowing with our stuff because we have a 7 month old baby and preparing to move out, and the other sofa in a neighbour's living room. Thanks a bunch SCS.
We were going to take out a payment plan with them but all of this has made us completely dubious about the company as a whole and we have decided to pay it off in full because who knows what they would pull out of the bag and surprise us with 6 months down the line.
We have recieved nothing but snarky and sarcastic customer service from all those involved in purchasing this sofa. Even emails have been snippy. Apart from on the day of the sale- then they were great! I wonder why?????
I would never go back and buy from this company again. And i highly reccomend that if you are reading this review, you dont neither. Go to a proper company that is decent and honest and actually has customer service. Dissapointed to say the least.
