Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent litter application. We are sorry your puppy details did not pull through when your application was submitted, we tried to call you but were unable to reach you and therefore emailed you.
We can see Aurelia was able to assist you on 29 July and that your litter was registered.
Our CRM system for litter registrations has been in place now for 6 years now so we are unsure which computer system you may be referring too. Like many companies we do experience website outages and we are sorry you were affected in this way.

Breeder’s get as many pups as they can from a female , then move the female on.. if that isn’t puppy farming then I don’t know what is!! And the royal kennel club supports this!!
Stay well clear of this club if you care about
dogs.
Edited due to disgusting reply trying to justify puppy farming, poor dogs bred fron and passed on and this is supported by the so called royal kennel club!!! Avoid these puppy farmer supporters!!!!
Someone that truly loves their dogs would never get rid of them or use it as a money making machine!!

The RKC has Regulations set around age, health and welfare for breeding dogs. Our rules state the following:
The Royal Kennel Club Board will not accept an application to register a litter when:
1. The dam has already whelped four litters save in exceptional circumstances and only provided the application is made prior to the mating and with veterinary evidence as to the suitability of the bitch involved in the proposed whelping and permission has been received, or
2. The dam has already reached the age of 8 years at the date of whelping save in exceptional circumstances and only provided application is made prior to the mating, and the proposed dam has previously whelped at least one other registered litter and permission has been received. Any such application must be supported by veterinary evidence as to the suitability of the bitch involved in the proposed whelping, or
3. The dam was under one year old at the time of mating, or
4. The offspring are the result of any mating between father and daughter, mother and son or brother and sister, save in exceptional circumstances or for scientifically proven welfare reasons and permission has been received, or
5. The dam has already had two litters delivered by caesarean section, save for scientifically proven welfare reasons
The Royal Kennel Club has no regulation regarding the length of time between litters, although if a breeder is licenced, it is against the law to breed twice within a 12 month period from the same bitch. We do not register or licence any breeders ; this is a service provided by local councils. However, we would expect and hope that a breeder would adhere to the RKC’s Health Standard and Welfare Standard, but we have no jurisdiction as to how a breeder may carry out their breeding programme nor can we become involved in any sales issues.
We always urge that those who have direct knowledge of welfare concerns to please report this immediately to the Local Authority Licensing authority and to the RSPCA at the time so that the proper authorities can follow up and investigate the concerns. The RKC will always take appropriate reflective action once such investigation results in relevant criminal convictions.

Helpful and pleasant
I spoken to Liv who was patient and very helpful.My registration was handled smoothly however I had hoped to enable the 5 week puppy insurance. Once again Liv was extremely helpful , the department line was busy so she left a message for them to contact me. I'm still waiting for that call three days later

The great bit was the Import registrations customer service ladies, who couldn't have been more helpful in getting my pup's Italian FCI registration information put on the RKC Breed Register.
The downside was the online application form, which kept crashing as I suspect the system could not cope with all the uploads? I tried everything several times but resorted to the telephone, print and email system. Technology sometimes tries to run before it can walk!

Extortionate and Greedy
The cost of registering a puppy is extortionate. Moreover the waiting time to have your registration completed and have the documents posted to you is unacceptable. This has been going on for years. It feels like absolute greed and it is the result of having no competition and monopolising the industry. They need to hire more staff. Took 15 minutes to get through to someone over the phone. Fortunately when I did, they (Olivia "Liv") were ace. Hence the second star.

Thank you for your response, we appreciate all feedback from our customers, both positive and negative. We are sorry you believe our registrations prices are driven by greed; our profits are ploughed back into the dog world.
The RKC is a profit for purpose organisation meaning any surplus funds we generate are used to support dog health, welfare, education, and canine research rather than being distributed to shareholders. Much of this support is channelled through our Kennel Club Charitable Trust. The Trust's main aim is to make a real difference to the health of dogs and dog welfare, no matter what their breed or background.
Profits also go towards the support of Royal Kennel Club Breed Rescue is a UK-wide network of breed-specific rescue organisations who help pedigree dogs that need new homes and to connect prospective owners with specialist breed rescues.
As you can imagine we receive many applications annually and register between 150,000 to 200,00 puppies per year.
Each application we receive is registered by hand and is a complex application which takes time to check. The RKC is actively recruiting and training new staff and to ensure the best quality and customer service this process takes time.
We are glad Liv was able to help you on this occasion.

Ella was exceptional and the best help we have ever received
Today we had the pleasure of being connected with Ella due to a problem that the KC site froze half way through -surprise surprise. . We have had over the years some very bad experiences with the KC and the website/staff and expect will continue to have these . BUT exception to the rule this morning and so credit is due to the help we received from Ella as a person for her patience and understanding she is a credit to where she works and needs to be recognised for it .
