Great Communication but Needs Improvement in Release Consistency

I have experienced using your platform for music distribution. While I appreciate your fast and helpful responses via email support, I did encounter some delays in the release process of my music, which affected my release schedule and planning.

Additionally, I noticed that some of my tracks only appeared on Spotify but did not show up on YouTube Music as an official Topic channel release, even though my works are fully original and do not contain any copyrighted material or AI-generated content that violates any policies. This has been quite concerning as it affects the consistency of my releases across platforms.

However, I still value the communication and responsiveness from your team in addressing issues and providing updates. I hope future release processes and platform coverage can be more consistent, timely, and reliable across all streaming services.

They have a problem with royalty free samples!

When i use a royalty free sample they refuse to put my song on instagram and tiktok! I even proved the sample was %100 royalty free by reaching out to their team and sending the documents which was needed to approve the situation! This is unacceptable to me...

Still the only decent free distributor

I have used RouteNote for many years. The processing time for the free tier has gradually become slower and slower over the years, sometimes it takes a month, but there are no other reliable free options regardless so it is what it is. On the rare occasion I need a speedier processing I use the premium option and then the processing time is approximately a week. Will still recommend RouteNote as long as the free tier is available. Also their support is friendly and accommodating, albeit sometimes a little slow.

disgraceful

this is the current situation i am facing with routenote - i have been a customer since 2019 and been releasing music online since 2004

a release that was uploaded to their website on april 14 for release on the 18th may is still not live - no response to my query in twitter and even though ive created a support ticket i know ill have to wait another 2 weeks for a response - so this release and any promotional material on my behalf is a waste of time

i wish to upload another album, but for 3 days now the upload stops at 99% - this has happened before with their website, and usually it works the next day, but 3 days now? again, no response to my question on twitter - there seems little point raising a ticket about this to wait another 2 weeks

over the past couple of years routenote has removed some of my music from all online stores with the claim of artificial streams in spotify, i have strongly denied this and have never bought anything like this. after conversations with spotify - who did not see any issues with any of my releases they encouraged me to upload the releases again, which i did.

routenote themselves in one conversation re-released one of the albums in question - as far as i am concerned and indeed spotify, there are no issues and all the releases in question are back online.

i recently reached the threshold of $50, the amount to be able to get your earnings payments. this is the first time since June 2023, the website even shows that i am due payments. but when it didn’t come to me and after weeks of slow responses to my questions, each time by a different person the response i got yesterday was that due to claims of artificial streams ‘distributors may be charged for abnormal streaming activity, which we are now passing on to affected accounts.’

meaning, that routenote are keeping back some of my earnings due to me and are charging/ fining me

this is both distressing and upsetting and i wonder if actually legal

after requesting numerous times for proof of the artificial streams none has been forthcoming, spotify themselves have stated they have no issues with the releases and yet routenote seem to be behave in such a way as to both ignore and stand in the way of independent artists attempting to make something of themselves

the amount we are talking about is so little, they are charging/ fining me $20 - so as anyone can see, so state artificial streaming is involved is both laughable and incredible. some of the monies involved for some of the releases are under 1 british pound.

so there you have it. routenote it seems:
- cannot get your music online with over a months notice
- currently no music can be uploaded to their site
- and they withhold your earnings without giving notification that this will happen or provide any proof to back up the claims they make

reading other comments on this website, i see i am not alone in some of the issues that i face with this company - i am not sure how they are allowed to operate in the way they do as they show little regard for its customers - and are quite content to both take a percentage of earnings and actually take all of the money made from your music as they wish without any proof or wrong doing or notifications of their intended actions

disgraceful

and no, i wont be responding to any requests from routenote on this website, ive done that before thinking that there might be a resolution, but you end up getting the same response to the replies you’ve already had in there own website

meaning, they like to pretend to onlookers that they are open to fix things, but in reality they do nothing but back up their own disgraceful behaviour

I Recommend Trying RouteNote

The platform is very straightforward when it comes to setting up releases. I am also incredibly grateful for the support RouteNote provided me and continues to provide me for sustaining my music catalog. This all has helped me built what can be considered a full-time thing where I'm at.
