Agreed a price & paid a 25% deposit

Agreed a price & paid a 25% deposit. Instructed 4 separate jobs, back in January. Gutters front & back and 2 flat roofs. We live & work away from home , but was constantly promised that work would commence, only for us to make the long journey home & nobody arrived. When they did arrive only half jobs completed, leaving a side elevation roof half done and leaking, unsecured & flapping around in the elements. As we only own half of the roof and the other half of the roof belongs to our neighbour, it has caused damage to our neighbours property also.
3 months later we are no further forward & now not in a position to return to the property as we are required to be onsite at our business premises. A clear deadline of 12th April and explanation repeatedly given to the company, but they could not complete before that date. I lost count of the number of times we returned to the property for either a no show or they went to get materials never to return.
My property has been left in a state of disrepair and damage & the scaffolding to the rear of the property has just been left in place for weeks. Nobody seems to be able to get hold of them & the scaffolder has not been paid. The front gutter and downspout was also left half done , with a gap in the run of the guttering.
Needless to say please do not use this company, they are disorganised, will let you down and waste your time! We have taken many photos & our only re dress will be court action. We are currently in talks with our company legal team to consider court action & my neighbour remains very upset!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I am writing this on behalf of my parents. Under no circumstances should these untrustworthy, unscrupulous people be allowed to trade. They should certainly not be appearing on Check a Trade, which is where my parents found them, trusting that they would be a decent company - how wrong could they be? They have done an appauling job of their garage roof, which will have to be completely redone. They feel extremely let down and don't wish anyone else to be taken in by this dreadful company.

Roofshield Solutions Ltd abuse of trust!

I would like to explain why I gave Roofshield Solutions the 5 star review rating back in 2017 for the work done to my roof, but subsequently in dispute with them over a more recent contract for work planned, but subsequently cancelled.
The issue was over building work to repair / rebuild the base of a bay window included in the contract to install new bay windows on the front of the house.
I was originally contacted by Roofshield, being a previous ' very satisfied' customer, to offer me a 'special deal' on new windows. Having the trust from my previous experience, I decided to proceed.
It was interesting, but also confusing, that the contract wording stipulated that WEATHERSHIELD Solutions Ltd. would be responsible for any building work, and supply and install the windows. I queried this with the Roofshield representative, who said Weathershield were part of the same trading company and not a 'contracted out' separate business, and shared the same address in Stevenage (ref: my earlier review). My deposit cheque was made out to Roofshield, so I was reassured.
Without going into details, I decided to cancel the contract after the 'surveyors?!' from Weathershield showed complete incompetence regarding the building work that would be required to the base of the bay window, and became rude and totally ignored my own assessment of the work required. When I mentioned that Roofshield had previously done my roof, the managing 'surveyor?!' (referred to as the 'Gaffer') stated that Roofshield had nothing to do with them, because they were Weathershield!!!
I concluded that there had been a deliberate deception by Roofshield, and they certainly could not be trusted to do the work, so had very good reason to cancel the contract.
I am not surprised that Roofshield never intended to return my deposit. They have become dishonest, and now completely lack any pride and integrity in their workmanship, which unfortunately gives a bad name to the building industry in general.
This is sad because Roofshield has gone completely down hill since they did my roof in 2017, and have now ended up with a bad reputation.
As a previous good customer, giving them an unsolicited 5 star review, I end up being shamefully treated and robbed of my £2,700 deposit!
I had the base of the bay window subsequently rebuilt to a very high standard by a specialist builder, who I can highly recommend.
I wish I could turn the clock back, and never have placed my trust in Roofshield Solutions Ltd, in its present form!

Appalling

This company sealed my roof in March 2018. During the Summer 2020 noticed the sealant peeling away from the ridge tiles exposing the pointing. There is an insurance backed guarantee but advised by insurers to contact Roofshield in first instance.

Since mid August I have been going round in circles for weeks with Roofshield about my roof reseal. I have experienced every excuse for no one taking any action. When someone did turn up it was obviously a sub-contractor by their appearance. They said they had come about my leaking roof???!! I told them it was about a reseal. They said they were not told that and that they did not have the sealant in the van and that the sealant was in Oxford – that they had another job to go to in Cambridge and couldn’t do it!!

I rang Roofshield last week and they said someone would be able to do it last Friday or today and would ring beforehand with a time. No-one got back – surprise surprise.

I rang again this morning and spoke to a guy who said that there is a lockdown in Wales because of Covid – then I was cut off??!

I am absolutely sick of Roofshield. My experience has been entirely negative - unhelpful, evasive, excuse culture and rude conduct. I will not be recommending them.

How can this company still trade?

Ah, genuine reviews now coming through. Makes you wonder where all the glowing reviews came from doesn’t It.
Tempted by the impressive 10 yr guarantee, I had roof cleaning and allegedly anti moss/algae treatment done by Roofshield Solutions. When the moss returned a couple of years later I attempted to contact the company for remedial work. The company had now gained ‘Ltd’ on the end of it’s name, and said they were nothing to do with the other company, and were getting lots of complaints about their shoddy workmanship. They actually offered to come and put things right at a further cost ! Strange that, the advertising leaflets, impressive guarantee, Facebook page, e mail address, and of course, company director Andrew Jordan, were all the same.
Roofshield Solutions were a ‘trading as’ company of Anglian Exteriors, whose director, Andrew Jordan had liquidated the company, owing a considerable amount. It appears that Roofshield Solutions had been resurrected from the ashes as a Ltd company by Jordan. How can this be legal ? The company or director do not respond to any form of communication including Daily Mirror inverstigators ( see daily mirror 5/7/2017.) It appears they simply ignore everything and carry on with their poor work and false promises.
You may feel as I do, that there is only one place for Andrew Jordan, and that is not running any kind of business. I urge everyone that has been stung or conned, to do their utmost to end this practice, which at very best is rogue trading, and at worst criminal. If Trading Standards will not act, then contact your M.P. If there are loopholes being exploited by directors like Jordan, they must be closed!
Ps. If you are reading this Mr Jordan, go ahead and sue me for defamation. By all accounts, this is the only way you’ii show your face in court.

Please share unsatisfied experiences with Trading Standards.
This company has failed to return a substantial deposit to my elderly relative. Their story is very similar to those I have read on here. Endless phone calls, county court judgement and still no refund.
If enough complaints are made to Trading Standards they will have to act.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I do not like publicly criticising small companies, but in this case, I feel that that household owners should be made aware of the incompetency of this company. I gave them over a week’s notice that I was going to post the following review, and they still have not responded to my request to complete the outstanding work.

We had our roof cleaned, sprayed and coated in September 2018, and whilst this is an excellent product, they were an absolute nightmare in completing the work.

They created an enormous mess in our garden (and also our next door neighbour) from cleaning the roof, because they were too lazy to lay down any sheeting. They only then did a very minimal job in clearing the moss and rubbish, and even though I complained about this and they came round again, they might as well have not bothered, as I then did the job myself, and picked and swept up three big buckets of moss and rubbish.

Other parts of the job were not completed and I had to continually phone them to get them to rectify these omissions.

They also damaged our fence and conservatory. These repairs are still outstanding. I retained £500 from the final bill, and even this has not spurred them into action.

When phoning them, if there is no one to answer the phone and you leave a message, they never return your call. Also, the lady in the office (Demi) is very rude and offhand.

This company should be rated ZERO stars because they are absolutely useless.

USE ROOFSHIELD SOLUTIONS AT YOUR PERIL.

Stay clear

Stay clear. No stars would be nearer.
Signed for roof cleaning painting & verge caps in August 2018 have today (Jan 22, 2019) told them to strip off the verge caps that were not installed as Manufacturers instructions after the fitter was adamant that it was done correctly.
They missed 2 square mtrs of cleaning at first that was corrected by the 2nd team, they gouged out part of our resin pathway with the pressure washer. They never ring back unless they are chasing money. The Verge installation was an absolute dogs breakfast with each of the 6 gutter ends done differently and most just screwed into the gutter end caps.
STAY AWAY
We eventually got money back by going through our Credit Card Company dispute progress!!

Ruthless tactics to overcharge my elderly parents for work not needed…

Ruthlessly targeted my elderly parents and worried them that they had a leaking roof and tried to persuade them into spending£3,500, to get the job done that day. Supposed discount from£5,000. They are very old and my mum is bedridden with cancer. She was so worried about the roof it kept her awake from 2am! The men turned up, uninvited, without a call or letter. The reason was an annual check, as my parents paid a huge amount to replace some roof tiles 12-18 months ago. I am just relieved that I was able to investigate the matter and dissuade my parents from another cowboy

Problem getting remedial work done

Problem getting remedial work done
On June 26th two men came and washed the moss off tiles.A couple of days later Mark Nash came and inspected the premises. He said
the amount of mess left behind was unacceptable and he would get
the team back and clear it up.
On July 11th the roofers came back and colour sprayed the tiles .I asked why they didn't spray biocide on the tiles as it states in Roofshield pamphlet, the roofer said they put the biocide in the wash down water. This means the biocide might be up to strength when they
started but get weaker as there tank was being replenished with water
from my hose. I think by the end of the wash down there would no biocide being put on my roof at all.
There was only one tile that needed replacing and they made a bodge
job of that, instead of pointing the tile in they daubed handfuls of cement mix on it to hold it in place,in doing the job they cracked a tile
right down the centre.
On July27th Mr John Skellton came and inspected the completed job,he took Photos of the poor work and found other work that should have been done.He said these jobs would be fixed for me.
After the roof was completed I had to clean all the gutters of moss.
I have left several messages on there answer Phone, and written to them three times (with no replies)
The price for my 3bed bungalow roof job was £4875 a very costly job
when it is has not been done properly.
Not a company to put at the top of your list.
PS. I have had to pay someone to replace the cracked tile.

Beware of this lot

Beware of this lot. In August I agreed to have work done and paid a deposit of £1800. Over the next two days we reconsidered our decision and cancelled the contract + was told no problem + a cheque would sent in the next two weeks. Nearly four months later after many many calls and emails and a creative range of excuses we have still not received any money. Think that they are crooks!

We have been extremely disappointed by…

We have been extremely disappointed by the performance of this company. Our experience mirrors that of many of the reviews on Trustpilot.
We signed up after a long explanation in our home from a very personable salesman. Initially the roof was cleaned by an excellent team who did a very thorough job and took great care to clean up afterwards. The second visit was cancelled by the firm and re-arranged. With most of the job completed, the work was disrupted by a broken hose which sprayed the coating on our windows and solar panels and the job had to be abandoned. A third visit was arranged and the men returned for a quick visit to complete the job and clean the coating off our solar panels. We noticed, after they had gone, that there were some areas where the coating was uneven and patchy. There was also dried spray still on our windows.
We received a call asking if an inspector would call to carry out a quality control inspection. He came, agreed with all our complaints, added more of his own, took photos and went off. Nothing then followed.
After 2 weeks (20th Sept) we rang to ask when they would be coming back to complete the job. They said that they could not find the report and asked me to describe all the faults to them. I refused and said they should find their own inspector's report. They said he had left the company. They said they would ring us back on 24th. They never rang.
I rang again on 27th and was told that they had found the report but there wasn't enough detail. They would ring back the next day (28th). They never did.
One very noticeable habit of this company is that they never apologise for anything. It's always, let's see what we can do about it but never, ever, a polite 'I'm sorry about that'.
Since September I have made frequent calls to the office asking for the work to be completed but I never receive the call-back that they say i will receive. On the last occasion all incoming calls were blocked.
This company is very quick to take your money but, as soon as they have it they lose interest. Their after-sales service appears to be non-existent. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Cowboys - Roofshield solutions Ltd..... Avoid them at all costs.

Avoid this company at all cost, I can only believe the positive reviews have been written by their families and friends or by themselves.
In June we had our extension roof replaced, after failing to turn up to start the job 3 times, the work was eventually done.
During the first really heavy rainfall since the work was done we had rain pouring down the inside wall of our living room.
Having sent a video attachment of the issue on 6 separate occasions and made numerous phone calls to Roofshield solutions they failed to respond.
As it looks like they’re not going to resolve the issue it looks like I’ll be taking this to court.
Do yourselves a favour and don’t waste your money on these cowboys.

Poor management and service let us down.

Sorry I don't understand reported excellence in service, must be friends and family reports? We booked and agreed a date to start the work. Day 1 - no one turned up to do the work. After about 5 left phone messages, I could not get hold of anyone to inform them of this. No mobile number - so clearly no one takes responsibility when things are not right. I had to ring the company 2 days later to say no one turned up. They had not responded to the left messages. Apparently the contractors who were to do the work had gone on holiday, obviously there was no communication between themselves. They came several times e.g. correct poor work, broken paint sprayer. Person who turned up the second time were not aware that they had to do the whole job again, they went away because they did not have enough paint to complete the work. Overall shoddy management and service work let us down. Our roof is still not fully covered in green, there are gaps. Deeply disappointed. They hide behind all the logos on their advertisement. We fell for this.
Today their partnership company EcoTherm which we sadly signed up to on the same day, therefore contacted in, cannot do the work because the contractors who are suppose to be our home today have been re-assigned to do surveys for new customers. This is frustrating, we the booked, paying customer is being let down to gain more customers, whom they can't guarantee an excellent service. Why take on more customers when you can't offer a good, efficient service to already tied in customers. Financial gain is more important to them than a good, honest, quality customer service. Please don't initially sign up to both. First check them out.

Problems getting remedial work done

After a very expensive and largely satisfactory roof renovation in mid May, if you ignore the careless scaffolders who cracked a paving slab and dislodged a bird box which resulted in the death of 4 baby Bluetits. I am now having an experience similar to that of Mr Atfield in getting remedial work done.
Within days of the job completion 2 tiles fell off and it took 6 weeks and 8 telephone calls to have them replaced. Again within days of those tiles being replaced another one fell off. I spoke to Marc Nash, Installation Manager, on 9 August and he arranged for a Quality Control Inspector to visit the next day and photograph the roof. However after a further 5 telephone calls and 2 months the tile has not been replaced - all very disappointing.

A 10 year guarantee sounds reassuring but is of limited use if the company is reluctant to perform the remedial work.

Customer complaint ignored

I have not had a good experience with the company. Overall the finish is acceptable but I had to remind team to clean up on the first day. There is more, but experience has left my UPVC doorsteps sprinkled with roof paint and my WiFi doorbell missing. Despite many promises to clean the doorsteps and replace the bell (apparently still sitting in their office for two months) nothing has happened. I am disabled and am sick of phoning every week. I think they depend on that. After they get their money, all consideration for the customer disappears. I would not recommend them as they don’t keep their promises.
