I think they did a good job all in all. I would have to say better communication with both the customer and within the different departments within rocket mortgage refy unit would be beneficial. There were times when the communication was not were I felt it needed to be with me from the various teams involved.

I’ve had repeated issues with Rocket Mortgage misapplying my “principal-only” payments, and no one has been able to explain or permanently fix it. On multiple occasions (April 17, Feb 11, Mar 6, Mar 12, and Mar 20, 2026), I made large additional payments and explicitly selected “principal only.” Each time, a nearly identical amount (~$1,682) was incorrectly applied toward escrow/interest or treated like a regular monthly payment instead of going fully to principal. Although some of these errors were later corrected after I called, it kept happening again. Customer service has been unable to provide a clear explanation as to why this continues to be a problem and I’ve been given inconsistent answers—including being told a March payment was applied to April’s bill despite being made early and having autopay enabled. This appears to be a systemic issue with how Rocket Mortgage processes principal-only payments. It seems as though they want to prevent us from paying off our home and it’s extremely frustrating to have to do double and triple work just to make an extra payment. Our loan has been transferred several times now starting with churchhill mortgage and then to Mr. Cooper whom we never had an issue with. This only started once our loan was transferred to Rocket Mortgage. I would strongly advise others to carefully monitor how their extra payments are applied or do not use Rocket Mortgage for your financing needs at all.

This was our third time working with Rob and Rocket. While Rob Turnquist was clear about the process, his team lacked the ability to manage a complex one. They sent all our banking details via unsecured email and made numerous mistakes. His team's communications were lacking and full of errors. We closed late and were threatened with a letter to perform because of all the issues with Rocket. They asked for all our documents many times and could not keep the records straight. We went with them because the rate was 0.5% lower than anyone else's due to our relationship with Ameriprise; otherwise, I would never use them. The errors and mistakes are simply not worth it when buying a home or refinancing. I did write to Rob about the issues and was told I could call Rocket. We never felt supported with all the problems. We are still waiting for our refunds from the overpayments. I would highly recommend another team that focuses on customer service and your long-term success. Rocket is not that team. Such a letdown since this loan was for our kids' first home. They had a terrible experience, and we feel bad for them. Can't wait to refi this away from Rocket. And I won't be coming back to them, no matter how good they make the offer. It's simply not worth the headache and security risk. I now pay for credit monitoring since they exposed all our information with zero regard. They did say sorry, they were tired and made a mistake. SMH. If I handled my clients this poorly, I would be out of business. I wanted to leave zero stars, but could not figure out how.

Attentive and timely, consistent communication, and diligence in helping me.
Refinancing was a process that caused me undue stress that lasted longer that i had expected. On a few occasions I asked to stop the process because the stress of it was getting too me.

James Bucci made the process very easy and kept us informed till the closing of the loan.
Rocket Mortgage took over servicing my mortgage from Mr Cooper. Once that happened, even though my bank information was loaded on their site, my bank started rejecting their transactions. Rocket blamed me for this and never said I needed to set up new autopay when they took over service. Very poor customer service.

We are in the middle of a refinance loan with Rocket mortgage. Our current mortgage is with them also. We received a contract the other day, which is completely different from what we were told! We don’t want to sign anything without speaking to someone. We have repeatedly called and text, no one has gotten back to us, leaving us with unanswered questions. Very disappointing!

Customer service is absolutely terrible. I have gone through another Mr. Cooper transfer disaster, from what i've heard im not the only one. I have been waiting on a manager call now since the beginning of the month, it is now the end of the month and I am receiving courtesy calls for my payment. Even better they will hang up the call after asking for a payment so it looks like I am being confrontational. So far from the truth, I just want answers and accountability for the mistakes made under the transfer between Mr. Cooper and Rocket. I was receiving multiple emails in one week to create a rocket mortage account. I created the account the following week and was bombarded with envelopes stating a payment was needed or they where going to start the foreclosure process. The wife was in shambles, I was honestly worried since we have never had a problem in 7 years. I have been trying to get a manager call back ever since, taken out a loan to pay rocket and all I have been getting is cut-off calls. Hard to believe that those are not intentional, and only makes me wonder how they treat the rest of the customers, especially the elderly that rely on old school communication. I am grateful I never made the decision to let rocket mortage handle the most important loan a family could have, my loan was "aquired". Would and will not ever recommend a company that gives no regards to the life and family of the customers they serve.

Manager called and informed me if I gave them all my bank statements to prove I am going through what I say I am, then maybe they can reverse the multiple credit hits. BTW you need your next payment in a week or you are going to get another one.

Rocket Mortgage cashed my check. Took the extra money that I Cleary wrote on the bill in the provided spot. That it was to go principle. Then told me I didn't pay my bill . The bill was due on April 1st. On April 23rd they said I didn't pay on March. I checked with the bank they did in fact cash the check. Put the extra money towards interst. What a scam. Mr Cooper did the same thing. I called but couldn't reach anyone to speak to. I could text someone. I'm sure this will happen again and again just like with Mr Cooper.
