Supposedly serviced my Worcester Boiler, but left no proper service documents/ report etc, and now my Central Heating does not work. Avoid these people and report to Trading Standards if you feel scammed
Scam
Very poor experience with this company.
In December, I booked my first job with them and was charged £420. At that time, I was told that my boiler would be under warranty.
However, just one month later, the boiler developed another issue. I contacted them again, and an engineer visited. After checking the boiler, I was told they needed my credit card details to provide a quotation. Without any proper explanation or approval, I was then charged £208.80 — without any repair work being carried out.
This is completely unacceptable. Taking payment without clear consent or doing any work is not professional.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this company. The management has also not taken proper action regarding this issue.
Very disappointing experience.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would, but no option for this. Just been charged £245 to be told the fault I could read myself in the manual and still have no heating. Having to get another company in to actually fix the issue. Avoid this company at all costs.
If I could make it a -5 star review I…
If I could make it a -5 star review I would. Seem to be a bunch of chancers With inadequate cover in Scotland they shouldn't do business here .
They present themselves as local, which they are not. Actually based in Birmingham
Absolutely appalling
Absolutely appalling. Once you give them your card details, you're screwed. They do a shabby job, your boiler is still broken and you're down a couple of hundred quid. DON'T DO IT!
Daylight robbery. AVOID!
I had a plumber to my toilet which was constantly trickling water and hissing. The whole process began well.....answered the phone straightaway, arranged a visit the same day, kept me informed throughout, provided a 5 hour time window for ETA, rang to let me know my plumber was running late etc etc. Initially informed me they charge by the hour £154 but that my job wouldn't need to take that long. Asked me to give my card details over the phone which I refused to do, especially as they hadn't even been yet! The plumber started the job at 1840hrs and the job was completed at 1842hrs; just required the adjustment of a small lever inside the cistern to release the float..... £184.80!!!!!!! For 2 minutes work I was charged for the full hour plus VAT - which allegedly included an OAP discount! A very upsetting experience and an absolutely disgraceful company; I most certainly would not recommend. STEER CLEAR!!!

REPORT REPORT
Don’t recommend
I rang them as some of my radiators were not working they told me they charge £179 per hour and they put a stop on the clock if they need to get parts. Had to give my card details prior as they said the engineers don’t carry card machines on them. The engineer was here for less than 5 minutes and said he would need to get a part to fix it. After that visit I was charged £212. I thought that was going to include him coming back to fix it. He didn’t show up two of the days he said he was coming and didn’t let me know until the end of the day so two days spent waiting in the house for them to come out. When he did come out he was here an hour and I got charged another £212 plus £55 for a part. So in total it was nearly £500 for a simple job. So I would not recommend and wish I had read the reviews before.
Awful , do not use
Rang this company as my dads fire had broken , I told them the problem and they quoted to come and fix it , arrived a day late and basically tried the fire and said “yeah that’s broken”, got a text straight after say job completed and please pay £212 ( for doing nothing), I rang to query and was told he had to pay as an engineer had investigated ( yeah that’s broken “, disgusting service , or lack of it , i managed to get a discount of about £50 strangely after arguing that nothing had been done , but still ripped my pensioner dad for £150 for doing absolutely nothing . Tried to give a quote for a new fire , and the fee would be waived , stuff that I’m going to find a reputable company , not a scam , take card details before they actually come out so they can take their payment whether you like it or not , lesson learned , please avoid , would give no stars If possible and I’m still waiting on an email receipt for the payment !!
Shocking, avoid if at all possible
If possible would give no star rating. This Company are dreadful, the worst. Googled electricians and they came up with a local number. Turns out they are all over the UK and use sub contract labour. Electrician was at the house for just over one and a half hour and the bill was £364.80, to fit a central heating timer we had provided, and worst of all did not work correctly! They would come and check but said be aware if additional work is required another £152 + VAT per hour.
Alarm bells should have rang when a credit card number is required when booking, this is apparently because not all engineers have card reader.
Would never use.
Outrageous!
Found the advert for this company in a local magazine, On calling them I was told the cost of looking at and repairing my 93 year old mothers shower would be £182.40 which they wanted card details up front (Red flag)
The engineer arrived and took 11min to tell her it needed a replacement thermostatic mixer assembly and he would let me know the price of the parts a few days later we received a price of £380.00 + the remaining 49 min (if it couldn’t be fitted in this time it would cost an additional one hour charge.
At this point I had started to loose all faith in this company. The bill for a mixer shower replacement heading well north of £550.00
Cancelled this company only to be told that the initial price given to attend and repair the shower was now a 1st hour call out charge (which I was pestered daily to pay)
Called out another plumber who fitted a like for like unit for £95.00 parts and £50.00 to do the job!
I previously worked for this company
I previously worked for this company. To start with, I've never seen a call out rate like rightio, not even pimlico plumbers. Absolutely rip off.
As I have previously worked for these and they have short falled me every time I will let you know what I think is a modern day con.
Something customer dont know. Something ive just came to realise.
When a part is required for the customer, A 70% mark up on top of the part is added. A part that cost £50, now will be charged to the customer at £130.
If you don't believe the above, Google the part they believe is required. I'm sure if it's a honeywell zone valve, should it be around £90 it will be double and more like any part.
Only if the customer knew they were being charged more than double the cost of the part required. Tbh I wad shocked myself.
Not to mention the constant short fall in payments to engineers.
OVERCHARGE
I cannot believe that I have been charged £180 for 19 minutes work repairing a toilet leak
I would like to submit a complaint…
I would like to submit a complaint about the work done. I called to say that my sink waste disposal unit was damaged and that the water was draining slowly.
The technician attended to the issue, simply turned it on and said it was working. We then tried to get it to work after he left with vegetables peels and it was still not functioning.
When I called back, I was told that I would be charged an additional hour as there was no guarantee that he could complete the job in 50 minutes. I was charged £194 to come and switch on the power.
I could not accept an additional hour charge because the technician did not do his job correctly in diagnosing the problem which I correctly reported and instead assumed that I just did not know how to use the unit. In addition they wanted to charge almost an additional £500 for parts for work they had not even diagnosed. Upon complaining to their customer service they lied and said they had visited the house twice and had diagnosed the issue and I did not want to pay. A clear lie. This site is a SCAM!!!
Plumbing Fraud
I had a broken flush valve, and on 5th Feb, I contacted few plumbing serviced, including Rightio, through the call back service, all I needed was a quote.
They called me back, saying they need my address and credit card details in order to provide it, I agree to give him the address as they need to see the distance/travel time but not my card details. They confirmed a diagnosis is not needed as I have already told them the Flush valve is broken (i could clearly see it), and it will cost about £120+VAT plus parts and if more than 1hr then price will go up (too expensive). I clearly told them I do not want to book the repair as I want to check with other plumbers first, meanwhile I managed to fix it myself thanks to multiple YouTube videos.
5 days later on 10th Feb, they called me to book repair, I said its not needed as i have now fixed the flush myself, since then they are sending me texts and letter asking to pay them £194.4 for the diagnosis and the work done. They did nothing !!!
I checked the number they called from 03303334538, and it is liked to plumbing scams. I also received a letter from them on 12th asking to pay else further legal actions will be take. SUCH A FRAUD, I wish I could attach pictures here
Beware
This company subcontracts to local tradesmen. My combi boiler was making loud noises so had been turned off. I was charged for a new pressure switch at a total cost of £297 (spare part £60), was told I needed a new heat exchanger. This was fitted the next day at a cost of £1066 (new part £600) however I did not see a new part being brought in to my flat nor an old part being taken away and a heat exchanger is around 600mm by 300mm, so not small. I disputed the work and after a number of phone calls, the last one being that I would get an independent heating engineer to examine the work, Rightio agreed to send another engineer out to look at what had been done. There were no new parts in my boiler, and further more my boiler does not have a pressure switch at all. The costs of the parts were refunded.
Things to take away. Their labour costs are very high £180 + vat. There is an issue with quality control and their engineers can’t always be trusted.
Waste of time!
After making an appointment to have my boiler serviced, the engineer failed to arrive. I contacted Rightio again whom told me that the engineer is running late & would be with me by 5pm. He never arrived! I contacted them again the next day & the head office contacted the engineer whom said when he would be able to fit me in, which was a Thursday morning before 1pm, again he never showed. After contacting them to cancel any appointment they chose to propose due to their lack of professionalism they told me I would have to pay a cancellation charge!!? I never did pay but worry as they have my card details.
