So today I had a visit from Steve

So today I had a visit from Steve , what a great service I received . Steve was professional, courteous and efficient. He attended on time and did a great job. I cannot fault the service I received . Even the phone I received was courteous and informative.

Save yourself the aggravation and go to another company

Right Gas installed a new boiler, after Domestic & General sent them to assess a problem with our old boiler, which they said was irreparable.

After leaving a big part of the house without functioning radiators, they insisted a power flush was needed, which they wanted to charge a further £700 to do.

We called another company that we trusted, as suggested by D&G, (but who hadn't been able to replace the boiler quickly enough) to review what Right Gas had done and see if they were right about a flush being necessary.

A simple re-balancing of the radiators fixed that problem. So much for a £700 power flush being needed! Right Gas could have re-balanced the radiators but thought they could get more money out of us.

However, Right Gas had also failed to do a number of things that they should have done:

1. As part of the boiler installation they recorded on the paperwork that they had done a chemical flush of the system and then added inhibitor. The new plumber that came tested for inhibitor and found less than 10ppm inhibitor in the system only three weeks after Right Gas had supposedly added it.

2. Right Gas had terminated the condensate disposal into the rainwater without an air break and without clarifying if we have a combined foul and rainwater system, as per BS6798.

3. Right Gas either chose to ignore or failed to see that the open vent pipe and feed, and expansion pipe did not rise continuously from the boiler, and that a valve was fitted there when it shouldn’t have been, as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Yet they proceeded to install the boiler despite these serious issues. Whether not seen or just ignored, either way it was completely unacceptable.

4. Right Gas stated on the official commissioning paperwork that the gas valve inlet test point had a reading of 18.91 (without any other gas appliances on, which they are supposed to be). We watched it being tested and showing a reading of 15.5-16. They had entered a hugely incorrect figure. Not even close.

We are taking this up with Gas Safe and Trading Standards.

Save yourself the aggravation and go to another company.

Chirs Goddard - Brilliant boiler engineer

A quick shout out to Chris Goddard who works for RightGas (a sub-contractor to Homeserve).

He had a trickly challenge installing a new pump to our combi-boiler. I am convinced a less skilled and resourceful engineer would have made excuses and given up. Chris relished the challenge and refused to give up until the job was done.

The repair has been first class and our boiler is working prefectly again with all other issues now also resolved.

We are very happy customers.

Choose Right Gas

I needed a new boiler and contacted Right Gas, I spoke to Emma who immediately took over my problem, Emma was polite and explained everything what would happen. Emma dealt with my insurance company and got everything sorted out quickly and efficiently. Once the right boiler was decided Emma booked in the Engineer and within 2 days my boiler was installed and my home all cosy and warm again. The Engineer got straight on with my installation and put down dust sheets to make sure the house was kept clean. Again he was very efficient and I cannot recommend Right Gas more to anybody out there.

Excellent Service

The engineer was very helpful, and returned 2 days later to put some protection on an outside pipe. Unfortunately l do not know his name. Please give him a big thank you

This is for David the excellent…

This is for David the excellent engineer as always because I’m covered by Home serve they use third party contractors Right Gas. Brilliant engineer if I could would give him 7 stars 👍👍👍👍👍

Adam Hunt

The engineer, Adam Hunt, was sent to carry out a routine boiler service. During the service he discovered a fault which he explained and said that he would report the fault to the office to get the part and arrange another appointment. The office called me back the same day to arrange Adam coming back to fix the new part a day later, which he did.
The turn around for the service was speedy.
He was polite and didn't leave a mess.
Very happy with how quick this was sorted.
