Appalling Customer Service !!
We got brought a gift card but couldn't use it due to the covid lockdown, so requested an extension and got completely ignored, even after 3-4 messages and emails.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AS THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN KEEPING THE MONEY !!

This company is shameful, our children put £40 on a giftcard for christmas, we haven't been able to use it due to personal reasons and then lockdown, but the customer service team are not willing to extend the expiry date - so £40 goes into their pockets - absolutely disgraceful.... do not let this happen to you...

I was given Restaurant Choice gift cards by a relative last year as a christmas gift, but due to Covid lockdowns I could not use them before they expired. I live in a small Welsh town which doesn't have any of the chain restaurants where they can be used. So even when things started to open back up I couldn't travel to any larger cities to use them due to local lockdowns in Wales. I have tried to contact the company several times but still have not received a response. Why do these vouchers have an expiry date, someone has paid good money for them so they should be honored. I will never use this company to buy a gift. The Dining out gift card extended their vouchers which expired during lockdown until 25th September. The Restaurant Choice should do the same!

We couldn't use our voucher due to lockdown and it has now expired. I emailed Dining Out 3 times with no response!!
Rip off. Would not use or recommend . I expect, like lots of other companies, they will use Covid as their excuse for not responding!

Card expired just after restaurants reopened from lockdown so never actually got a chance to use it

My gift card expired during lockdown but having contacted Restaurant Choice, it was replaced with another giving a further year's validity.
Yesterday, I had a pleasant and enjoyable meal in Nando's - no complaints at all with the food.
However, Nando's do not accept, I was informed, these cards and so I had to pay using a credit card. The original balance remains on the card.

I found my gift card had expired as I’d not be able to use it due to lockdown. I also used online form but got no reply so I rang them. Call was answered straight away and a new card was issued which arrived 4 days later.

Absolute scammers, first card I got didn't work at pizza hut so eventually got sent a replacement, second card didn't work at nandos! you cant see if cards work until you've placed your order at the restaurant, so Ive now wasted over £80 trying to send a £25 gift card!! absolute joke, company should be banned

I had a card as a gift but due to lockdowns I was not able to use full balance. i went to use it recently and found out the balance had expired. I contacted them via email 3 times wroth no response. i was unable to get through to anyone on phone. I am not happy as someone has spent good money so why would it expire? I need that money back either via cash or top-up on card. I will never be buying one as a gift as this shows how useless they are.

I would give no stars if I could.
I have emailed them 3 times to ask about my cards remaining balance and they ignored them all.

Had 2 giftcards totalling £50 that expired on 20th July this year. Telephoned customer service to ask if there was a possibility of an extension, and they have agreed to send out replacement cards. In my opinion it is always better to speak to someone than just communicate electronically.

I see this on here many times and I have had exactly the same, no response to emails from them regarding extending the card validity due to Covid lockdown. By not responding to people they are going to lose so much business, there are other dining cards out there!

Received a gift card as a present but due to lock down and not wanting to eat out as restrictions eased, the card expired.

Have used the online contact form on 4 occasions to enquire if they were prepared to give an extension due to exceptional circumstances but they did not have the courtesy to even reply.

Easy money for them. Will never give one as a gift again and would encourage others to think seriously about doing the same.

Received a £25 gift card as a present but haven't been able to use until now due to Covid restrictions and all restaurants being closed, however the card has now expired and cant be used. Tried contacting Restaurant choice multiple times but no response, their website form doesn't work and keeps asking me to fill in the comments box, which I have, but it wont submit! No recent tweets or facebook replies from the company to hundreds of people in the same boat. They are just keeping everyone's money without providing the service we have payed for. They should be removing all expiry dates during Covid19.

Shocking. Had 2x £25 and the restaurant didn’t accept either. Funds have expired apparently. Absolutely disgusting.

Was given a card as a gift. With COVID and restaurant closure I have been unable to use. Contacted twice and received no response.

A negative turned into a positive

Having emailed with no response read the reviews on Trustpilot which were the same as my thoughts they took my cash. BUT I thought I give it one more go and after reading a review dated 21 May I phoned and was dealt with by the company very well and have since received my replacement card. Just a shame they could have avoided all the negatives by replying to the previous emails.

Bought 2 x £25 girft cards in May this year. Were sent two that ran out of date last year. Called to complain and was told I would receive replacements within 5-7 working days. 7 working days later and they're still not here. Called again and was told due to high demand, they will be posting them in 2-3 weeks time. Said I didn't want to wait and asked for a refund, was told they're non refundable. Bad business!

Had a gift card expired January 31st 2021, Just phoned spoke to Isaac who was very helpful and polite, the card and amount has been honoured and new one on its way. Many Thanks

I should have posted this earlier to say I did receive a replacement card in the post after my second comment. So, thank you Restaurant Card, we are looking forward to using it soon.
