Paul came today to repair my cooker. I had been told by another company that I needed a new thermostat but Paul very quickly realised the fault was with the door catch which resulted in the oven losing 30-40% of its heat.
Paul repaired the door catch and I am really pleased.
I must say Paul was lovely and cheerful and just so knowledgeable about the Rangemaster cookers. Couldn't be more pleased with the service he provided. Thanks Paul!
I must also say a huge thank you to Mark at Repairtech too!

Phoned up over Christmas needing a glass cover for our Rangemaster oven. Super smith process and correct part arrived the next day!

I was referred by Rangemaster to Repairtech as my oven was out of warranty, I required a new pane of glass for the inner oven door as mine had shattered. Initially the part was sent to the wrong address then once I received it the part was incorrect which I had to return. Repairtech admitted that they had sent the wrong part to the wrong address and I paid the difference for the correct part which never arrived. After many phone calls chasing my part and with nobody from the Company calling me back as they said they would then to be eventually told the delivery date had been put back I could no longer deal with this awful company and I cancelled the order. I was left with no oven over Christmas and what should have been a simple transaction taking over 4 weeks with no part at the end was a complete nightmare. The one star rating is for my refund which is the only thing Repairtech got right!.

I responded to the ad for a service call as my oven is getting on a bit. I thought £150 was reasonable and completed the online form including my idea of the 2 faults that I knew about.
The engineer was very accommodating once he got my correct phone number and turned up.
They were here 6 minutes! All they did was agree with my perception of the faults and said they would be back with the parts when available. I asked how they could do a service in that short time and they said it wasn't on the job card?
When I phoned the office they said I was paying for an inspection not a service but couldn't answer why the online ad states "book a service call". They just phoned me to say the parts are available and I need to pay another £100 plus the cost of the parts but still no service. Very disappointed to say the least.

Failed to turn up to repair an oven on two separate occlusions. No communication from the company or apology. Managed to speak to the engineer in one occasion and he had clearly been committed to too many jobs on the day. No communication following the first cancellation. On the second occasion the original morning appointment was changed at the last minute to an afternoon slot. Engineer did not arrive and there was no communication. I spoke to the company. No apology. They promised to call the engineer so he could speak to me but this did not happen.
A very unreliable company

I found Paul to be reliable, effective and he did an excellent job. He was also kind enough to reorganise his schedule to give me a morning appointment. This meant l did not have to wait in all day between 8-5pm. Usually it would not have mattered to me, but when l explained that my daughter was seriously ill in hospital he came first thing in the morning. This meant l was able to go and be with her.
Thank you

Engineer Paul has just left my property after completing a most efficient repair and service of my Rangemaster cooker. 10 out of 10 as far as I am concerned.

When I called Rangemaster, they referred me to Repairtech as my oven was out of warranty. They promptly charged me a single fee of £234 for call-out and parts. They told me an engineer would call me in 1-2 days. No call. So I called them and they said they'd follow it up. When I called the next day, having heard nothing from them, they told me that there were no engineers serving my area, York, any more. So, I expected a refund.
I called a week later, on a Monday, to ask where my money was. They said that they'd located an engineer on the previous Friday. Trouble was, they didn't actually call me then. So, having found an alternative engineer, I asked for my refund again. They said it would take 7-10 days and I told them that the clock started ticking when they told me they couldn't help the previous week. I'm still waiting for my refund. Funny how they can take your money in an instant, but pressing the refund button takes so much longer.
The alternative provider charged me £108 for all call-outs and, having arrived promptly, charged an additional £68 for the part. So, £176 vs £234.
If Rangemaster refers you to Repairtech, you might want to see if there's an alternative provider who may save you money.
