They make it impossible to validate your account to cancel a subscription. Their auto enrollment for subscriptions is very shady and unethical they way they do it.

Beware if you are a subscriber. We just got a package in the mail and it says open now free gift enclosed. We just opened the letter attached without opening the box. There was a invoice for almost thirty dollars fir laughter is the best medicine. You are paying for the book and shipping and handling and tax. There evidently a small free gift but it's costing thirty dollars. I put the letter back in the envelope and taped it shut and wrote refused return to sender.

Aggressive advertising, almost impossible to close the account, I had to pay for a lawyer to right a letter requesting immediate removal from all subscriptions. I had sent more than 3 emails and left messages, posted 2 letters. It took time, energy and money. It was exhausting.

On the recommendation of RD, I started viewing a movie called “You Are Cordially Invited,” looking for a laugh on a dreary Saturday. It starred Will Farrell and Reese Witherspoon. Within the first five minutes, the “f” bomb hit and then from that point on, it seemed like every other phrase had profanity in it. Why?? I will never take RD’s film recommendations seriously again.

I've been reading Reader's Digest cover to cover for years but they don't seem to care about us when they promote & provide links to questionnable or even shady companies/websites/products. Today's email promoted 30+ Discounts and "Special Benefits" Seniors Are Entitled To. I want them to be able to offset costs with ads, but it's disappointing to see Reader's Digest pushing this collection of ads on vulnerable seniors.

Love the content but the online ads that pop up constantly make it impossible to read. So sad but not going to renew any longer. Person in charge of selling all these ads cost the company my business.

This magazine is great for senior citizens. I read it all the time and recommend it to all my friends.

These people overbilled my elderly mother and sold/gave her name to an "affiliate" (SW Publishing) who overbilled her another $160. Luckily I caught this the second time they did it and had to cancel the check. (The second time SW Publishing listed Guideposts which my mother also gets. Guideposts insisted they don't do this but in the fine print on the inside page, they say that they do share info). In email they said my 92 year old mother is subscribed through 2028 and they still send solicitations. Shame on them.

Absolutely horrible to try and get in contact with. I wanted to simply update my mailing address and the process couldn’t have been more difficult if they tried. Absolutely useless. Will be cancelling my subscription.

We were readers of Choice magazine for over 20 years, unfortunately they have been taken over by Readers Digest who sent us a free copy of their magazine and then set up a Direct Debit on our Bank Account WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION is this legal?

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE READER DIGEST WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. IF YOU CHARGE, THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR CARD EVERY YEAR. GOOD LUCK!

Reader's Digest has been on my family's reading list subscriptions for a long, long time. We love the condensed stories that are easy-to-read and learn from.

The only thing I don't like about it is the CONSTANT barrage of enclosures and snail mail soliciting condensed books which looks like a "limited time" subscription "offer" of $10 (in 2022, at least.)

Come on, Reader's Digest, you have a loyal following that you are turning off with these pressure tactics.

I love the magazine for my Mom, but honestly, I am so tired of all these sales inserts and mailings, I don't know if I'll renew.

I placed an order and paid £18 in full via my credit card for the Black Friday Offer in November 2021, for a full years Readers Digest Annual Subscription to be posted to my home.

In January 2022, I still hadn’t received anything and sent an email only to receive one back saying I should receive a copy around January 18th, 2022.

Today is February 7th, 2022 and is now in the hands of the UK TRADING STANDARDS

I haven’t received one single issue

Readers Digest are aware I haven’t received anything and haven’t resolved the matter.

Dishonest and Evil.
How is this organisation allowed to exist ?
They target the old and string them along with promises they have no intention of keeping.
My father fell prey to their trickery and lies.
How low can people stoop, tricking the elderly so ?
