Used Rapid Secure to board up a broken window following a burglary. Quick service and a good job. However, when paying the invoice over the phone they said they could quote for the replacement window... See more

Bunch of cowboys. Overcharge for boarding up windows. Shocking customer services. Contractor that came to board up window caused more damage to the window and instead of just having to re-glaze the whole unit had to be replaced.
They charged me £228 against my will for a tiny job that should cost less than half that. They were called out by the police after criminal damage, and they changed a basic lock. Then they invoiced me and threatened with court action if I didn't pay their inflated price.
Rapid Secure helped me following a home invasion. They were extremely helpful and supportive. They arrived when they said they would and were very thorough, cleaning up afterwards and ensuring my property was as ssecure as it could be. Thank you!

I’m giving this 1-star review before taking a legal action against your company because you secured a property on our street and your contractor has put a mess outside of our property. When you are securing a property, it doesn’t mean you have to throw the rubbish to their neighbours door. Do you throw your house rubbish next to your neighbours? Do you? The lady in your office on the front desk said they can’t do nothing and it’s not their responsibility.
I’m giving you 5 hours to send someone to clear all this mess and clean outside of our shop otherwise I’m going to take a legal action against your company and look for compensation. Laws in this country are very strict. You have to follow it. Remember 5 hours. I’m attaching the pictures of the property you secured and also outside of my property you put the mess.
Well done to RSL for a fast and effective response to my step daughters` nightmare - imagine being on a hill walking trek in the Himalalas and getting an email telling you your UK home was not secure. Extra congrats to Louis, the fixer who did all the dirty work most professionally. I would have given the review five stars if the repair hadn`t been so expensive.

Disgusting customer service from awful human being receptionist (you know who you are) that belittles people and tried correcting me multiple times . I spoke to her with respect but got nothing but rude and arrogant attitude back . this company is awful . Got quoted £300 for two small padlocks on my back door for safety reasons .. NOT willing to cooperate or understand . Stay far away from it please . Not worth the hassle at all .
Definitely very helpful when I most needed it. Late night call out was responded to in good time. Secured my home and gave me peace of mind. Really nice guy.

One star as not possible to put less
Had burglary at our property while abroad Police got this company to replace the door lock and handle. We paid the invoice for the repair £258 on our return from holiday.
Handle not screwed in properly and odd screws in situ therefore lock moves around when used.
I phoned the company very rude woman on phone would not even consider sending a correct screw for us to replace it and basically told us it was a temporary repair and it’s our responsibility to fix it!!
Don’t use this company they are disgusting in there standard of work and customer service is terrible
This company sent the invoice to my rental property address which was occupied by a tenant and not me. I had never known about this invoice until the tenant's neighbour told me about the letter. The letter contains no information about payment method. By the time I gathered the money from the insurance company to pay, I called Rapid Secure and they told me about them tracing me for the debt via the court. This is stupid and ridiculous. Why can't they verify the property owner's correspondance address before sending their letters. Now the tenant has passed away and I am cleaning the property myself then I found the "Final Notice of Court Procedings" in am old suitcase above his wardrobe. This is ridiculous. Totally improfessional and careless mistake Rapid Secure. Please wake up people working there especially for those who post your invoices. I will complain to the police who hired you to do the job next time if you made the same mistake again.
Warning!
DO NOT PAY!
Look on whatdotheyknow and see if there is a foi regarding your local police force and rapid secure. For my area, it says if RSS (extra S for expletive) can't get money off the person, my local police force will pay.
You didn't have a contract with them; there is no expectation of payment and as there is no contract, you are not at risk of a CCJ.
Pays to know the law. 😉
Edit: RSS are demanding I provide a reference number, full name and phone number otherwise they'll say it's not a genuine review and have it removed. It begins with a P and that's all you're getting from me! Happy to continuously write reviews if it gets taken down 😘
Haven't visited property yet to checkhopefully all sorted. The gentleman on the telephone was extremely helpful and made it an very easy process
Thank you all

This company profits from other people's misery. After my house was attacked they were called out by the police to secure my property. The work done is very poor, you only find out the price when they send an invoice. Customer services is extremely poor. Most people don't get a choice but I would definitely recommend avoiding this company

Police forced entry as I am a vulnerable individual with diabetes and healthcare were unable to make contact with me. Rather than kicking the door in, they carefully pushed in the lower panel and shouted to attract my attention (I was asleep but the noise woke me.)
Police were very good and one of them stayed behind with me until the Rapid Secure contractor had arrived and reattached the panel (this took no more than 3 minutes.) I was then handed a client job sheet after which the contractor left. At no point was any payment discussed, either on his arrival, during the repair or after.
A few days later I received an invoice for £228 with an £11.40 discount if settled within 7 days.
This was a somewhat traumatic experience for me and the first time entry had been forced at my home, so fully understandable that I would not have been thinking logically. However, the repair was well within the capabilities of the average person i.e., reinsert the plastic spacers, offer up the panel, push in all 4 edges then tap into place with a mallet; this I would have done later after regaining my composure.
As others have said, Rapid Secure deliberately take advantage of people in distress knowing full well that they will sign/agree to the repair in order to secure their property. They are solely a for-profit company and behave exactly like one.
My advice: ask for a quotation BEFORE using one of these companies. Take photos of the damage and send them over to assist with the estimate. This will prevent any unexpected surprises as once a contractor is sent, you are out of pocket. Also consider asking friends or family for assistance with the repair (although I concede this isn't an option for everyone - me included.)
Fitter was very good and friendly did an excellent job
Quick initial response to board up, less than an hour, BUT took a week to get an invoice that I could pass on to the insurance. That is MUCH too slow.
Not called out until 9.40 pm and job complete at 11.50 pm by very personable fitter who also gave some seurity advice.
