Used Rapid Secure to board up a broken window following a burglary. Quick service and a good job. However, when paying the invoice over the phone they said they could quote for the replacement window... See more

Rapid secure were called by the police after my front window was damaged by criminals in the middle of the night. At no point was I told that this was a chargeable service, I thought it was a service from the police that just provided temporary security in the form a quick board up to people in distress due to criminal damage of their property.
Although the work was done promptly, it was not done very well, the window was not fully boarded and there were broken/cracked panes of glass still exposed to the elements. I had to get my home emergency insurance company to come and board it up fully/properly afterwards, and the pay a call out charge to them as well, I didn’t think that was a problem as I didn’t realise I was going to receive a bill for £246 from rapid secure as no one had told me this was a chargeable service.
Today I have received an invoice for £246 for the unsatisfactory boarding up by rapid secure. I spoke to the police today and explained about the invoice arriving, after all I was hanging in the phone for my emergency insurance company whilst the police were at my house.
Today the police have told me to call rapid secure and report that the work wasn’t done very well and send photos but the lady I spoke to was quite rude and kept saying that I should have called them sooner, but I thought they were just part of the police service so I didn't even know I should have contacted rapid secure, so I am now writing this review as I’m not very happy with the expensive invoice or the lack of empathy from the person on the phone just now.
Apparently I should have called them (rapid secure) to say the boarding up wasn’t done very well but no one told me that. I was just in shock after a brick had been thrown through my window at 11.30 at night. As a single mum I found that really scary.
So I the day after I called my home emergency insurance and got them to board up the window properly as I didn’t know I was going to get a bill for £246, so it was worth paying then the call out charge to get a proper job done.
And now I have to pay £246 for a quick but unsatisfactory job that had to be done again almost immediately. There is a long lead time for windows to be fixed and I couldn’t have left the house as the window was, let alone go about my day to day business.
They (rapid secure) don’t even want to look at my photos, I asked if they’d like me to send them by email but they don’t want to look. I don’t really want to look at their expensive bill, if I’d have known it would have cost this much I’d have just waited for my own repair service, who I had to call out anyway to get a proper job done.
Came quickly when called and secured the door.

A break in whilst on holiday in Sardinia. Felt helpless ! The Met Police gave me Rapid Secure's number. A quick phone call and my son met them at the house within a couple of hours. Back door boarded up and I could resume my holiday safe in the knowledge that the house was Secure. Thank you Rapid Secure.

Absolutely corrupt and a scam!!
The police called them out to a tenants property, Over 12 months ago, & The tenant is liable for the broken door! NOT ME! Yet they bill me £240.00 For a door, which I did not authorise! They are absolutely corrupt and scamming landlords And homeowners!! Please take them to court that’s the only way they will learn
Great customer service throughout the customer experience.
Quick response to my call over the Easter weekend.

Secured a door following police forced entry due to a sudden death. They said they'd secured the door, but the lock fell off. They then threatened another £250 call out fee if they came out again. We therefore waited two hours in the cold, after a loved ones sudden death, for another company.
Horrible company to deal with! They damaged my door, and charge a ridiculous amount, all without my permission.
Rapid secure was round so quickly and managed to get us back in without a fuss & with no damage. I would definitely use again!!

This company is breaking the LAW.
When someone dies, debts they leave are paid out of their 'estate' (money and property they leave behind). You're only responsible for their debts if you had a joint loan or agreement or provided a loan guarantee - you aren't automatically responsible for a husband's, wife's or civil partner's debts.
My fathers house is currently being sold and this firm is saying that if payment is not made within 10 days I will be took to court PERSONALLY.
This is for my late fathers account, who police smashed down down and Rapid Secure Changed "16 for a wood board on door to cover up damage.
In terms of the law I have not benefited from the estate as of yet as the house is being sold my father was in significant debts which the house is being sold to pay the debts back.
Why should I be took to court for a debt to my late father when his estate has not been closed.
I explained I was a vulnerable customer and asked to speak to a manager or a email to submit my complaint to.
A member of staff from this firm explained I would have to write this is to the team and when searching on the website I found a email that could have been provided to a son that has lost his father but this company operates for profit and not the overall good therefor should be challenged in its legal practices either through complaints method or via national or international news reporting methods as this is Illegal as the estate has not been settled.
Great service - the company boarded up my property through being contacted by the police after my property had been broken into. The company were understanding at a stressful time and I felt their main concern was that I was happy with the work they had done.
