Push Publishing were absolutely fantastic. They managed to get my book published within a very tight deadline whilst providing outstanding service throughout the process.
Everything was completed to a very high standard, and they avoided the kinds of formatting mistakes I had experienced with a previous publisher, where revisions came back with more errors than they started with.
They also assign you a personal manager, so you deal with the same person from start to finish. This proved invaluable. In the past, when problems arose during the publishing process, particularly with formatting, it was often difficult to get anyone to take responsibility. Having a single point of contact made the whole experience far smoother and more reassuring.
This is my third publishing experience, but it’s the first time I can genuinely say that I would absolutely work with the same publisher again in the future. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Formal complaint regarding multiple breaches of professional standards, contractual expectations, and duty of care. Request for full accountability and resolution.
Dear Patrick Walsh
Founder and Director of Publishing Push UK
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint about my experience as an author client with Publishing Push.
I invested significantly (£12,200 across services) in good faith, based on your company’s marketed reputation for supportive, professional hybrid publishing assistance, positive reviews and apparent expertise in guiding authors through editing, production, and publication.
While certain elements (particularly developmental editing with Leah and final artwork after much direct input) were handled competently, and supportively, the overall experience so far has been marred by serious, recurring failures in communication, editorial quality, accountability, and respect for the author’s vision and genre expertise.
These issues appear systemic rather than isolated, aligning with multiple other public complaints regarding poor post-payment responsiveness, refusal of direct dialogue, inconsistent staff performance, email only restrictions that block escalation, and lack of ownership when problems arise as they did for me pre-Christmas.
Key documented issues include:
1. Misrepresentation and Scheduling Failures.
A scheduled introductory/consultation phone call with you (Patrick) was confirmed but not honoured due to your being on holiday.
This was presented as a misrepresentation of availability and commitment, eroding initial trust.
As founder you bear ultimate responsibility for ensuring sales promises and scheduled engagements are realistic and fulfilled.
2. Severe deficiencies in Copyediting.
The assigned editor (following strong developmental work with Leah) produced a report containing 155 questions, numerous factual inaccuracies which they created, spelling errors in emails, and unsubstantiated changes eg. Converting script-style writing for people with ADHD to be more inclusive to prose citing “industry standard” without consultation or justification creating more delays. Altered sarcasm that was intentionally scripted and clearly spelled out in his report; questioning “gods” without grasping the spiritual/healing genre context, then claiming readers “won’t be able to follow it.”
These errors required four full days of my time to correct, with no apology just a note to say that they will be addressed later.
The report was 100% negative, lacked any constructive suggestions, and excluded the 155 questions for discussion-rendering his report useless and unprofessional.
3. Refusal of reasonable Communication Channels.
When I immediately requested a phone call to clarify the editorial issues, this was denied by project manger Benjamin, who insisted all manners wait until the editors report. This policy-apparently company wide-prevents real-time clarification, escalates minor issues into major ones, and shields staff from direct accountability. The excuse given that there are hundreds of emails is just not factual.
It is unreasonable for a high fee service (£12,200) and contradicts best professional practice in client-facing creative work.
4. Gaslighting, Disrespectful Tone, and Conflation of Author with Fictional Character.
The editor described the manuscript as “scattered” and accused me of being “erratic”, citing multiple versions. I clearly explained this as a minor oversight- I am not proficient with my wife’s laptop yet and forgot to email the preferred version.
I explicitly stated I was happy with the cleaner version because it had toned down trauma-laden stat elements or better flow. In response, I received a dismissive and rude remark along the lines of “he’s happy with it?”- undermining my clear approval and adding unnecessary condescension.
Further, the editor appeared to conflate me personally with the semi-autobiographical protagonist (drawing from real events May 2021-August 2022), suggesting I was “erratic” and would only take a phone call now in January if Benjamin was also on the line. He then said he was open then judged taking plant medicines not psychotic drugs (psychedelic) and referred to them as hallucinogenic which is highly disrespectful to native cultures which refer to them as visionary plant medicines.
A joke about taking a micro-dose which was light hearted humour got turned into the author is writing high which was then used to question my reliability.
Such personal judgements, delivered without foundation or sensitivity, were disrespectful and unprofessional. I demand a full refund for copy editing and will escalate via Trust Pilot. Ekam
Great business, was nervous at first with my very first manuscript . And getting my book out in the open . Tarn has been great keeping me informed on how my book was coming along, if you ever want to start your book this is the right place

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Publishing Push team for shepherding me through what would have been a very challenging and difficult process to achieve my goal of becoming a published author. All that stress was taken over by Kristina and the team in a kind and professional manner, guiding me every step of the way, to the successful publication of my first book.

I worked with Publishing Push to bring The Great Old Oaks of Dark to a global audience, and overall the experience was a very positive one. As with any publishing process, there were a few small blips along the way, but what really stood out was how quickly and professionally they were addressed.
The team were supportive, responsive, and genuinely committed to helping me get the best outcome for my book. They guided me through the process clearly and made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and exciting.
My third book with Publishing Push, I appreciated their patience, communication, and willingness to put things right when needed. I’m proud of the finished result and grateful for their help in sharing my story with readers around the world. Thank you to Kristina, Diane and all those that helped me along the way.
I’d happily recommend Publishing Push to authors looking for support in bringing their book to market.

We've known Patrick for many years through 9others so it was terrific to be able to work with Publishing Push on our book.
We then worked closely with Benjamin who was just superb -- knows his stuff, very responsive and easy to get on with.
Thank you!

From start to finish, the process was well explained, and any queries were swiftly answered. My project manager Benjamin was also very understanding and helpful with my technology blind spot.
I would not hesitate to use this team again…..they work hard to make literary goals a reality.

We had the pleasure of working with Publishing Push on three very personal and meaningful books. From the first email to the cover design and formatting process, the team has been clear, respectful, and fast to respond. Patrick and his team have treated us with genuine care and professionalism, making us feel like our work truly matters.
Unlike other experiences we've had in the publishing world, Publishing Push stood out by staying transparent and human. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and highly recommend them to any writer who wants their book handled with both skill and heart.

I am truly grateful and appreciate all the efforts this amazing team put into bringing my book to life. They went above and beyond to make it happen, especially given that I can be quite particular as a perfectionist and I know I am not always the easiest to work with. Benjamin and Amy deserve a special mention for their patience, dedication, and professionalism every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me make my dream a reality and I am looking forward to working with them again in the future. Thank you so much for your guidance and support.

This is the second book that I have published with Publishing Push. Second time round you have the benefit if all the learnings and a different set of expectations. This time round my PM was Kristina and I really enjoyed working with her. The project flowed at the right pace and I am very happy with the final version.

A dream to sell? I'd advise ask many clear questions before you sign up & pay - video's tell of a marketing carrot of your book off to 40,000 int. distributors. But beware the cost for it to become known comes later [having already been pushed for feedback] - They tell of: 100% author royalties, this spells PP sales interest thin! - "Submit cover ideas with limitless revisions" I did & rec'vd one'off the shelf''Shutterstock' wasted much time re-configuring then told NO revisions? I ended up with 2 'Ivy league' drop-outs nothing like my two main narrative characters. Invest. in PP pos £3000 - Based on av. self-pub sales [600-700] sales needed. On stats. 90% 100 sell in 1st yr. many less! A very bad investment!! - Better a publisher take a high % & market; you can get on with the writing. I have another 120wd finished work and almost my sequel but I'm off looking. There are countless people like PP who present the same old story and are happy to send you on your way with: U-Tube, Instagram etcetc Don't be mesmerized by PP talk of: Waterstones 'book signing' and having your creation published and a copy in your hand - It has to become known of!

The worst professional experience I have ever had. Promised the world and then as soon as the £2000 was paid went completely silent. No reply to emails - every promised deadline missed (in the end 5months late).
The company owner Patrick gives you a great sales speech making you think you’ve finally found the one self publishing company that actually cares and have you in their best interest but as soon as you’ve spoken to him and paid up that’s it - you’ll never again be able to speak to anyone at the company and you’re at the mercy of them replying to emails, which they rarely do.
Absolutely disgusting and 2k down the drain and the product they finally came up with was so poor it’s now been totally scrapped. DISGRACEFUL

Finally got my book published by this company.
If you don't mind having no phone contact (emails only) and being prevented from complaining then this is definitely the service for you (I tried raising an issue but my requests were intercepted by my only point of contact, Benjamin who refused to let them through).
The editor and artwork were excellent but the refusal to communicate verbally at any stage by my only point of contact (especially at the bits I found tricky) made this a painful experience at times.
Just glad it's over....

I thoroughly recommend Publishing Push. My experience of Patrick, Kristina and the Team was that of being treated with consummate professionalism. The outcome was the publication of my book within three months accompanied by excellent marketing support. I could not have asked for more.
