Not a good experience at all other than the person who installed the system. Billing issues from day one and every time I call customer service I am spoken to in a demeaning manor. Will not recommend to anyone because of this experience.
Upgraded Protection Needs
Exceptional service from both gentlemen, from the assessment for upgraded needs to the installation.
One month in and going smoothly
So far, the experience has been very professional. The sales person, Michael, explained the financial details and recommended equipment very well, and the installer and installation were first rate. System is easy to operate and seems to provide extensive protection. However, haven't had any test of effectiveness, yet!
Poor Customer Service
I set up the account only one month ago and I am so fed up with all the mess up and confusions, such as a broken sensor, wrong bill, numerous calls to schedule services, and the service person didn't show up for an appointment. You name it!
System
This has been awesome from point of contact, to delivery, initial setup and installation. It's very intuitive with stupendous customer service and responsive to my desired needs. I appreciate the monitoring system and team of individuals very much.
Horrible Experience
I have had multiple issues with this service. It started with my system not working. This left my house unsecure at times that i thought it was. I was also told that a portion of my equipment would be replaced because it was not working. This never happened and I only found out because I called back because it was still not working. I spoke to numerous people who have given me false and inaccurate information. I spoke with Desiree to cancel my account and the customer service from her was the worst that I have ever experienced. She also told me that she could not cancel without doing so in written and verbal form. I told her that i did not want to do this with her due to her lack of customer service. I called back to speak to another representative and found that Desiree had already done this without my permission. This was a completely horrible experience. I only called to order more equipment that was needed in my home and I ended up canceling due to the customer service, poor informationot being delivered and lack of communication.
Our security system
Great company, very competitive pricing, very competent technicians, excellent equipment, we obviously made the correct choice, when we selected Protection1 to be our Security company!
New System
It took two weeks to receive the product due to their severe weather, but they forget the instruction book and my hallway image sensor is not operative had to call a second time to make they were ordered and on the way. Which she overnighted but I still have not received them.

I received a motion detector with a low battery. It was supposed to be replaced but i still haven't got one.

BIGGEST LYING COMPANY EVER!
I made the huge mistake of allowing these people to enter my home and put this system in and the I signed a contract with them! Stupid thing on my part. They nailed my window shut when they installed the window sensors! well that's one way to keep a house safe, screw getting out if the place catches on fire. Then the sensors on my two front windows broke when the windows were open on a pretty day! No need for fresh air right? I then started getting daily phone calls at work that the system was not working. NO POOP! They were only to happy to send someone out to fix it for a service charge. Money Racket!! So I am telling you I would not recommend them to my worst enemy! And yes there have been many phone calls to the company. Last one was because they drafted more that the contract stated because I upped the service. How funny....the cords are cut on the stupid system. I HAVE NO SERVICE! BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE!
Christmas Robbery
My next door neighbor was rob two days after Christmas. I call Protection One the same day, and receive the kit later that week. It was fast ,and easy to install. I feel safe, and secure at home, or when I'm at work. Thank you.
Knowledgeable Service
The service personnel are very courteous and on time. They are very knowledgeable on the products installed and are patient when explaining how the system works.
Bad customer service- equipment doesn't work
Installers were nice enough. However, the motion sensor kept getting set off by my cat. Company replaced sensor, moved it, adjusted sensitivity-still went off. When I spoke to customer service they said they'll drop the sensor from the system and that was it. When I explained this wasn't a good resolution for me since I signed up for the service for the advertiSed motion sensor and door sensors. The rep explained "well the motion sensor was free". I then decided I didn't want to continue with this company. Transferred me to someone else...they promised to call me back tomorrow (I was in middle of teaching class when alarm was set off my cat) I never got phone call. Terrible customer service. No follow through and poor equipment.
Stick it to you in the end
We had Protection One for 8 years, but when I called to cancel because we were moving to a house that already had different service, I got the run around from customer service and they billed me for extra months of service even though I had no contractual obligation to stay. The service was fine for the first 5 years, but when the equipment started to breakdown, they doubled my monthly rate to add a service plan. Because of that increase and the way they stuck it to me in the end, I am glad to be done with Protection One. I have told everyone I know how poor they treated us in the end. I hope it was worth to them to STEAL $50 from us.
