I've worked for a few employment agencies as a supply teacher and now a tutor. My experience with Prospero the last couple of years has been quite refreshing. My rep Emma W has been reliable and up front with me from the start. Happy to recommend them to other teachers.

I was new to teaching, and they helped me navigate the journey into employment. I would fully recommend them and really appreciate all the support from Louis at the Southampton branch.

My experience overall has been really smooth and quite straightforward. Lale has been excellent! A consultant with a strong work ethic & morals; I know I can rely on her to take care of me and help me in my line of work. I was working in a previous school, unhappy in every way and Lale swooped in; without dishonouring the current work of the other consultant & gave me somewhere to work that was perfect. I felt such a difference mentally & the pay is set to be much better as I am still in my probation period
. I definitely will continue to recommend people to Prospero! Lale for president!

Prospero has been brilliant. I can honestly say that my consultant, Grace Brady , is an absolute star.
She shows understanding and compassion, always ensuring that you’re in good health and ready for work .
Grace shows gratitude and always gives positive feedback from school placements that are always refreshing and an absolute joy to hear.

I’ve been with Prospero teaching for a year now and they have honestly been the best. They got me into work with the first week of the school year and their communication is amazing. Lale is my work consultant she’s extremely professional with great communication skills and she’s been so helpful with my employment, she has always been there when I’ve needed her and honestly she’s just a great person overall. One of the best Educational agencies out there right now!!!!

A friend recently referred me to working with Prospero Teaching – I registered with Jared B.
Jared found me a placement in a school and has been supportive through the whole experience.
Would definitely recommend.

I’ve been with Prospero for over two years and have found their service to be very helpful and reliable. My recruiter Grace is always letting me know of jobs that suit my schedule and preferences, while also giving me fast and clear communication between schools and myself. I recommend Prospero

Extremely disappointing experience with Prospero Teaching. Registration took ages and I had to send the same documents many times to different people. Pay was very low, promises were not kept, and there were not enough suitable shifts. Communication and support were poor, and I felt my time was wasted. I would not recommend this agency.”

My consultant Emma is amazing. She is extremely helpful and always does exactly what she says she will, which is refreshing. The feedback I also get from the parents of my students is that she is lovely to deal with.

I highly advise staying away from teaching agencies, especially Prospero Teaching. I would honestly rather clean toilets with my PGCE/QTS than work for them. I truly believe Prospero have no jobs and all they do is play around with applicants to kill time.
Out of all the teaching agencies I've registered with, this one has been by far the most unprofessional and frustrating. They've been dragging their feet with my registration since June 2025. First, they claimed my references hadn't been received, even though my referees assured me they had sent them. Then, I found myself going back and forth, submitting various documents and completing different courses. Both a consultant and a compliance workrr told me everything was fine, except for the references. I made several attempts to have them sent again, and my referee from Oman even sent me a copy of the email they sent to Prospero.
Finally, after months of waiting, the consultant admitted they had received the references, which he said he'd forwarded to compliance. Yet, weeks went by without any response or progress. Eventually, the consultant said he’d sent an urgent email to the new compliance officer to speed things up—but I never heard back, so I had to keep calling.
Eventually, I got an email from the new compliance worker asking for a list of documents again as previous ones were out of date, pulling me back to square one. This wouldn't be the case if they had been more professional. Anyway, I submitted these again, only for her to request absurd additional documentation, like proof of my early education from over 40 years ago and requesting further confirmation of employment dates from my referee again. And here we go again.
It’s all just a game. I’m starting to doubt they even have any real work or anything else to do in there office. I do keep getting fake emails from the organisation about vacancies. At this point, I seriously question whether these vacancies are even legitimate. Just don't waste your time with Prospero or other agencies. Get a minimum pay job elsewhere.

I have had 2 racist experiences with this company one in 2022. I halted the interview because she was talking to me like a toddler and shusshing me with her hand. As a mixed race person, i think and I wonder, if she would behave like this to my white family members? Probably not, because i have observed racist behavior all my life.
More recently, they shared incorrect details on my DBS, then accidentally shared an email to me from compliance she used defamatory and racist descriptive language.
When i made a complaint: guess what ? They gas lit me even with email proof. Compliance and complaints are one of the same. Stick together and be racist. Complaints even quoted human rights jargon. Which was in contradictory to their process and behavior.
I hold 5 degrees distinction level and finishing a PhD in human rights (funny that). 17 years as a teacher. To be attempted to be demonized in 1 hour. The hard work i have put in to my career. This "bitchy and immature" company can not touch. Looking forward to completing my PhD so i can expose breaches in human rights in the work place.
I can barely discuss the toxic racist culture i have been subjected twice now. Incidentally, why are all the staff of a certain age, white females with the same condescending tone of fake authority?
Black and brown students, teachers and professionals - save yourselves - stay away ! Know your worth and walk away. Be more successful than them!

Terrible. Basically no work despite falsely telling you there’s loads to get you on their books. Compliance process is laughable. They clear you for work only to bombard you months later demanding extra information. The agents are so rude and unapproachable.
Pay isn’t correct often and also as others have said beware of the positive reviews- only a handful will be genuine most are fake due to made up incentives to get you to write something positive. There are much better, more professional agencies. Avoid this one.

Extremely poor communication and professionalism.
I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Prospero Teaching from January 2025, and was twice dismissed without notice — once due to “budget changes” and once because the school wanted a female assistant instead. Both times, I found out after travelling to the school.
Calls at 6 a.m., last-minute assignments, no proper support, and now — no payment for my last shifts (around £400, pending since mid-September).
I’ve tried to resolve this privately, but after six weeks of empty promises, I feel obliged to warn others. This level of disorganisation and disregard for staff wellbeing is unacceptable, especially for an agency with such a strong public reputation.

I’ve had such a positive experience with Prospero Teaching. They found me a temp-to-perm position almost immediately in a school that I absolutely love. The communication has been excellent from the start — always supportive, professional, and quick to respond. I’ve always been paid on time, and any questions I’ve had have been answered straight away.
A special mention to Matt at the Southampton office, who has been brilliant to work with, but I’ve also spoken to a few other team members and they’ve all been great too. I’d highly recommend Prospero Teaching to anyone looking for work in education, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future if my circumstances ever change.
